Fantastic boutique, in the perfect position to walk around Aveiro, check in was very helpful - free parking in the shopping centre car park - 5 mins walk, gave breif explanation of the historical points of hotel. Recomenndations for dinner - O Barrio was superb. Nice breakfast and of an evening sit on the 4th floor balcony having a drink from the honesty bar - the room was very spacious over looking the canal, good fun - excellent hotel

1877 Estrela Palace Hotel is a boutique restaurant with 8 rooms in total. The location in Aveiro is excellent. It is across from the main canal, and shopping mall. The top floor has the breakfast dining room, which also has a bar. There is a terrace that has very pretty views of the canal and plaza in Aveiro. All the staff was very nice and accommodating. Here are the cons with the property: 1) parking is available in the shopping mall underground garage across the canal (equivalent to 1-2 blocks). The problem is that you have to illegally park in the middle of a very narrow street in front of the hotel entrance, walk into the lobby, ask for an access card to be able to use the parking garage, and walk back to the hotel to return the access card every time that you enter or exit the garage. This is not a comfortable or efficient way to park. Instead, all 8 guest rooms should have an access card to use as needed during your hotel stay. 2) We kept having issues with the air conditioning system in both our room, and our friend's room. The air conditioner kept automatically changing back to "heating" setting. Again, the staff kept resetting the system remotely in the lobby back to "cooling" mode, but the room would warmup in the interim.

Professional kind friendly helpful wonderful staff! Helped with restaurant recommendations, location of sites etc. Delicious buffet breakfast. Beautiful rooftop area with amazing views. Great views from our small room. There is no onsite parking, but they provide information for free parking underground at a shopping mall across the street and on the other side of a canal.

Good location. Very nice room. Difficult to unload as the hotel frontage is in a very tight street. Parking is available but you have to use a card key (borrowed from the front desk) to park your car at the mall parking lot across the street. It is a bit of a challenge navigating to the hotel and the mall.

Dejligt lille hotel. Perfekt beliggenhed, god service, smilende og glad personale. Vores værelse havde jacuzzi på balkonen. Vi fik hjælp til at finde en restaurant få minutter fra hotellet, som serverede helt fantastisk mad. Morgenmaden på hoteller er fin. Husk at banke på ved ankomst. Du får udleveret nøgle til hoveddøren sammen med din værelsesnøgle.

We stayed one night in this hotel. This is a magnificent and memorable property. The decor is very artsy and beautiful, unlike any other hotel we have seen. The bedroom was very spacious and beautifully appointed and the bathroom was beautiful, a bit on the smaller side and very clean. The staff at reception is very kind and helpful. Parking is not too far away in an underground parking garage, free of charge. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great rest. Breakfast was plentiful and amazing. The staff at breakfast was also super kind and accommodating. There was a lot to choose from and it was served. The location of the hotels is fantastic, and all sightseeing attractions, shopping and dining is within easy walking distance. We loved our stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it due to its spectacular ambiance and kind staff. We would definitely return and stay here again. Highly recommended.

Hotel is beautiful and I loved the idea of this boutique hotel having its doors locked and me having a key. Rooms are beautiful and large. Staff is amazing and went beyond the normal. They leave pastries as a welcome and chocolate at the reception desk, water, and port wine. Water pressure was great and place was super clean. Premium bedding. Location is fabulous and food suggestions were right on. I never write reviews and travel often. 10 out of 10 and I’m very picky. Breakfast was wonderful, a boys I did not expect. Book this place you won’t be sorry. I’ll be back

Our room was beautiful, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were soft, fresh and fragrant - everything felt fresh and clean. Very good standard of cleaning throughout. Staff very friendly and trying to be helpful. However the hotel has a number of underlying problems. The design is style over function - e.g only enough space to hang one towel/ inadequate storage for more than one or two day stay etc etc. The stay was topped off by a roof leak that required 2 bins to catch during a last night storm. Unfortunately this leak has evidently been occurring for some time. A shame as someone has obviously spent a lot of money on this hotel. Good breakfast.

Well worth the cost of a luxury hotel. Staff and amenities were far above average. Breakfast was an unexpected spectacular surprise and very good. Highly recommend for staff courtesy, cleanliness, quality of food, location, parking availability and recommendations for finding local spots to visit

While the boutique hotel itself has a wonderful staff and accommodations were elegantly appointed, the room we had was oddly designed and in the shape of a narrow hall leading to a small bedroom. Definitely cozy but needs to be rethought. Room door opens to the shower and toilet is next to a sink in before you hit the bed. Not my favorite. Needs towel hooks as well. Hopefully the other rooms are better.

With having only eight rooms, this boutique hotel is amazing. We arrived (from Lisbon by train) early so popped in to drop our luggage. Although we were earlier than 3pm, our room was ready so we were able to check-in. Staff are incredibly polite and even gave us a brief history of the building, whilst escorting us to the room. The room was fabulous and beautiful decor throughout the hotel. Three double, shuttered windows over-looking the canal. When open it could be a little noisy, simply from the boats tooting their horns, which was fun! When shut, the windows were total sound-proofed and black-out shutters. There is a lift/elevator. There is even a rooftop bar and seating area inside and outside balcony. The bar is via an honesty system, which we didn't use but looked amazing choice and reasonable price. The bed was very comfortable and superb power shower. So, highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of town, close to shops, dining and local attractions. What makes this hotel stand above the rest is the service you receive from every member of the hotel staff. They definitely go above and beyond. In addition, the hotel is beautiful. It once was a private residence and was recently renovated. However they were able to keep the integrity, beauty and charm of the original residence with modern amenities. It felt like we were transported back in time. We have been in many hotels during our travels, this hotel by far will be one of the most memorable. I would definitely highly recommend staying at 1877.

Fantastiskt byggnad och fint rum. Vänligt mottagande men andra stora brister i service. Vi bad receptionen att boka bord på en restaurang men trots påminnelser blev det ingen bokning. De ville istället sälja biljetter till flamencoshow. Vi bad om frukost kl 08.00 men den var knappt påbörjad 08.05 och det tog till ca 08.30 innan allt var klart. Gratis parkering innebar plats i p-hus en bit bort och man fick låna ett kort som skulle lämnas tillbaka så snart som möjligt. Inte särskilt praktiskt…. Definitivt överpris i relation till vad man får.
