I chose this place because of the price, the pool, and that it's close to downtown. The pool was cold, and the hot tube was closed, so we didn't enjoyed that part. When I needed ice, I had to look into the entire building, because none of the ice machines was working, well, just one. One I was doing that, I killed a couple cockroaches in the hallways. The elevator is small and from time to time you can find it either wet, or weed smell. I don't think I will be back here.

It smelled like pot the whole night. The pool was shut down. There was people in and out, up and down the hallways all night and there was only donut holes and toast for breakfast.

Friendly staff, hotel overall not great. Definitely no hot tub. Went up to the pool to find out we needed a seperate key card to get into the pool area. Went back down to get the key only to get into the pool and see the hot tub had been concreted in for what looks like a good amount of time. Was placed next to the elevater which was not ideal for good sleep, no sound barriers in place for elevator or hearing your neighbors water being used. Breakfast was just carbs, juice, coffee, and apples.

Hot tub - there is NOT. Pool room smells badly of black mold. Everything is dirty and outdated. The carpets looked like they havent been cleaned maybe ever..Breakfast was continental - no hot bar / eggs of any kind. DON'T BE DECIEVED BY THE PICTURES! And Don't stay here.

The floor in our room wasn’t vacuumed. The table was very wobbly. The pool was closed. The toilet seat was loose. Ice was only available on the third floor. The digital clock was broken. We needed three towel sets, but had two. This is not a 5 star property, so I expected some of this. The staff was helpful, the bed was clean and comfortable, the soap, shampoo, and conditioner smelled amazing. The laundry was efficient.

Overall, a nice place to stay for the price. Pool was kind of a let down and too cold for my personal taste. Inconvenient location on the 5th floor also lol. Room was nice, very clean with a great comfy bed. Biggest complaint was not the hotel's fault, was it was listed as having a hot tub with a photo to match. They do not have a hot tub!! One of the main reasons i booked this stay.....

First of all, the hot tub was broken, but that turned out to be the least of the issues with this place. Went into the room, and one of the beds had dirty sheets/comforter. I answered the automated text asking for clean bedding, and got no response. So I went to the desk to inquire and was told it would be addressed. I went out for a few hours and when I returned, still no clean bedding. Went back to the desk, and she "found" some bedding, handed it to me, and asked if I could bring the dirty bedding to her when I was done changing it. The bathroom was gross, falling apart, and smelled of mold. There was pee on the bottom of the toilet (near the floor). The chair, at the desk, looked like they garbage picked it. It was peeling and falling apart. Every ice machine was broken. I was so very disappointed, as I don't get to go away for the weekend too often. It became comical how bad everything was. It cost $122 to stay on a Saturday night. The right thing to do would be to apologize to me and issue me a voucher for a future stay, (at another location, of course). I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone!

Staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was fine. Hotel is old and in desperate need of updates and or deep cleaning. Carpets are disgusting everywhere, did not seem vacuumed well when we checked in. Bathroom was gross, tub had soap residue that had not been cleaned, old staining everywhere. The toilet seat was coming detached and no one cleaned the area around the attachment and it was very dirty. There were two towels in the room, no linens for the pull out sofa in room or on sofa, no extra pillows. Room had lots of space though which is what we were looking for!

The pictures on this site do not show the actual rooms. This place is trashy and gross. I would have canceled but by the time I saw the hotel and room I would have lost a lot of money. I will never use hotels.come again after this. Nothing about the stay was good honestly. Couldn’t understand the front desk guy, the halls and room smelled like mold and old smoke. The building itself looks abandoned. The pool looked like it had never been cleaned. So much wrong with this hotel.

The worst and dirtiest place I have ever set foot in. I was amazed. You can tell the carpets have never ever ever been washed. Stains everywhere in hallways and rooms. The pull out that we needed for 5 of us had old socks in it showing they never opened it and cleaned the sheets. The phone made me laugh hard. It was a phone shell, no insides so we couldn't call front desk. The bath tub was filled with mildew and mold and there was debris. When the toilet didn't work they moved us to a room with double beds. Same dirty floors and nasty bathroom. You can tell owners do not give a #### about cleaning. So there is no way they change sheets. Had to get a third room on next day and we checked the bed for bugs. Mattress was filled with dog hair. We put our clothes all over the bed and slept on our clothes. Fridges were dirty. Coffee machine smegma. Three of us went to another hotel to shower. I had to get through my work deadlines and pushed through. I have slept in cheap motels. A bottle of bleach goes a long way. Oh argument with employee and guest in lobby. Guest put blanket in bathtub. Employee was mad. Guest said, "you have to wash it anyways." Employee says, "no we dont wash the blankets everyday." Boy by. Stay away. For sure health department needs to shut them down. Disease will spread. Shame on Grand Rapids. This is what we will remember.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It was so dirty. Mold everywhere in the ceiling and in the tub. There were burn spots on the carpet and the toilet for the first room they gave me looked like someone puked in it and the. It wouldn’t flush. There were no towels or toiletries in the one room. The second room had half used toiletries and a nasty bedspread. The third room had moldy ceilings and holes in the doors. The 4th room they gave me had holes in the door and the bugs started coming out at night.

The floor was super sticky even after housekeeping came and cleaned it again. The bathroom vent had black dirt all over it. The floor look like it had not been vacuumed. The phones were broken and not even plugged in and the fridge is broken luckily they did replace the fridge and they did come to clean the room a second time but the place is just run down and very old. Not recommended. Oh and the breakfast there was no hot food which I had read in a review that there was eggs and stuff like that before.

Where to begin. Black wall around electric outlet no cover around one outlet. Bath tub was disgistingly dirty. Hair between mattress pad and sheet Empty water bottle at top of bed between matress and headboard. Should have seen it when/if sheets were changed. Disgusting!!! Didnt sleep well. Wouldn't shower and I better not get bedbugs or crabs!

It was noisy we heard neighbors super clear just like they were in our room. The bed and sink counter were clean, toilet is new, but the carpet stained and the tub has water mark. Breakfast selection is limited. The lawn around the property is dirty. I smell weed in midnight and the parking lot too. Not recommended.

Went back down to get the key only to get into the pool and see the hot tub had been concreted in for what looks like a good amount of time. Was placed next to the elevater which was not ideal for good sleep, no sound barriers in place for elevator or hearing your neighbors water being used. Breakfast was just carbs, juice, coffee, and apples.

I had to kick my door open because it was stuck. There were stains, very few towels, small bathroom, lacked amenities such as fitness, ice machine, etc., it smelled weird and I had to spray the room, and the shower didnt work well. It wasnt absolutely horrible but I've stayed in better rooms for the same amount of money.

This is a decent property if you're just sleeping and showering. The free breakfast is not great. The cold water knob in our shower was stripped, and there was some black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Otherwise, it was fine, good price, free parking is nice and covenient location.

The property is in very poor condition. Room was gross. The door didn’t shut properly. I was approached by two strange people in the parking lot begging. We didn’t feel safe here. Slept and left. Breakfast? There were stale donuts and apples.

Room I was in had some repair issues that I saw. There was a hole in the wall where it looks like something had been originally had been but had not gotten fixed as of yet. The baseboard and the carpet meet up had a bit that was sticking out and needed repair. Hot water in the bathroom shower, I had to move it further than expected to even get the water to move out.

I booked online for a 1 night stay (thank goodness). The hotel is rather dilapidated and the surrounding are was a bit dicey. Our room was missing tiles in the shower and the bathroom counter was held up with pieces of wood, and the sink faucet was barely attached. The staff was friendly and unfortunately that is the only positive I have about our stay.

First given a room on the 2nd floor. It was missing the swing latch lock on the door. And it was the 2nd room down from the elevator. We could hear the elevator motor buzzing continuously. We requested a different room. Moved to the 3rd floor, further down the hallway. Much quieter and the latch was intact.

The good - I disagree with many of the reviews I read. I thought the staff was amazing. We stayed 2 nights, saw many different workers, all were very friendly and helpful. Condition of some things aside, I believe our room and common areas were as clean as they could be. The bed was clean and comfy, our fridge etc worked. The staff seems to be doing the best they can with what they are dealt. I didn’t see any of what reviews are calling homeless people or anything unsafe. It’s not a secret that doors locked at midnight. There was staff at the desk ready to let us in, non issue. Breakfast was good, the basics, cereal, bagels etc. I liked that they had donut holes and mini muffins The bad - The hotel could definitely use some repairs. It’s not in great shape. There was a hole in our shower ceiling from a prior leak or something, our vanity was held up by like 2x2 sticks and the caulk job prob wasn’t professional. It seemed like they have no budget for repairs and someone is doing what they can. It wouldn’t stop me from staying there again, but just fyi. I waited too long to book for van andel, this was avail and not $600. I paid more than an average night and I’m not upset about it. It’s 6 min away. It did what I needed, a place to sleep, shower, free parking and free breakfast. The price was good. Staff was cocky. Submitted a pre-check on the evening before arrival, informing them we would arrive at 3:00 pm. Arrived and, before even greeting us, the check-in clerk stated “no rooms are ready. They’re still being cleaned.” Then, he asked which hotel we were staying at (it was a split brand hotel). Told him we found it had to believe that, every single room wasn’t ready at the very time of check in and if I submitted my arrival time, what good was it? He went into the back for awhile, came back and printed out a booking sheet. He verbalized our room number handed us a room card and turned away. No greeting or thanking us for our stay…nothing. At checkout, he was at the desk again. I said checking out of room “$$$” and he said “all set bye bye.” And turned away. If they had a personable and mannerly employee working the desk, they would get more customers. We won’t stay there again. Area surrounding to hotel felt unsafe. No nearby food. It’s not worth the savings. Room annd bathroom were unclean, but the beds were very comfortable.

Well I checked in on Sunday an didn’t get towels until Thursday. The staff was mean, also the employee that wouldn’t get me towels. Also told me I was not aloud to extend my stay a they didn’t want me there. Then come to find out he’s manager. If you’d like to spend your money on a hotel that treats you right don’t go here. Outta state for work. Also had a buddy stay there too. His heat an tv didn’t work . Staff didn’t care also took him four days to get a new room. Terrible terrible terrible !! Sorry this is a lot. Also the area it is in is questionable

Came in to a lady screaming saying she was touched inappropriately by a man outside, and the poor girl behind the desk didn’t know what she was doing. She proceeded to call someone to show her how to check people in and even fully forgot to give back the credit card of the people standing in front of us.

When we checked in, we went to our room, and upon entering, I noticed that the bed was unmade. I quickly looked around and saw a man's belt on the table, a man's clothing on the floor, empty beer cans on the floor, and the bathroom light was on. Clearly there was someone in that room and my daughter and I were scared, and quickly left and went down to the front desk. I was given a key to a new room, which was unoccupied but the toilet didn't flush. The only thing that was said to me about any of it was a brief apology. I won't return to that property.

Unfortunately the door battery was not working after we checked in and attempted to use our room card on the door. We went back down to the front desk where we patiently waited about 10 minutes. We were let in our room and told he would fix it within the hour. We left for a birthday party in town and came back almost 4 hours later. We were ready for a wind down and sadly, the issue was not fixed. We had to come back down to the front desk. The Days inn worker was at lunch, so the Baymont rep called him back. We waited another 10-15 minutes for him to return from lunch. We were taken back upstairs by the worker with the machine to fix the problem at this point. Very drawn out process that should have been handled. After the door fiasco, we attempted to check the hot tub to see about relaxing and it was taped off with no prior warning or mention from the staff. We booked specifically for this so a heads up would have been appreciated after our less than ideal check-in. Last, after seeing the hot tub useless - we tried winding down with tv. The tv’s are not hooked up to any channels. It was a miss the whole time.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. We walked in, checked out our room, and the pool, and decided we felt unsafe on top of a disgusting room. It looked like there was sperm everywhere on the bed, wall, and even the TV. The room smelled so bad. There was single men with backpacks lurking around everywhere. Seemed very strange. Was there a total of 20 minutes, and hotel and Expedia wouldn’t give me a refund. Never again!!!!

We never got out of the car. The place looked like it was out of business. There were homeless people laying down on the cement around the building and parking lot with shopping carts of their stuff. We called hotels.com and explained what we saw, they said no one answered the phone when they tried to contact them. Got an email the next morning that they would not refund our money. I didn’t feel good about my car being in the parking lot let alone going in the place.

The pool was inside. No outdoor option. No hot tub. Missing tiles on the shower wall. The room was right next to the elevator so there was a loud humming every few minutes. Breakfast was a sad experience. Watered down orange juice. Only served bread and corn flakes cereal.

The room was noisy and the condition of the room was sub par compared to other Days Inn properties I've stayed at. Black water was seeping up from under the flooring in the bathroom and by the entrance to the room. Smelled like sewer water. I would not recommend.

It was noisy we heard neighbors super clear just like they were in our room. The bed and sink counter were clean, toilet is new, but the carpet stained and the tub has water mark. Breakfast selection is limited. The lawn around the property is dirty. I smell weed in midnight and the parking lot too. Not recommended.

The bathroom was dirty. When we got there there was a long hair in the toilet, and little hairs in the sink. You could hear everything through the walls. There were stains on the floor in the hallways. Breakfast wasn’t great and they ran out of things.

Pictures online were deceiving. Room was not super clean, there were random pieces of tape on the wall, the wall behind toilet wasn't clean, it just wasn't great. Toilet not seated properly, so it rocked, no fan in bathroom so everything gets wet when you shower. Hot tub didn't work in the hotel, and breakfast was only 6-9 (which may be normal, but I've had it run til 10 elsewhere, that's way better) Parking lot was dirty. Staff was nice, and polite.

The building is in serious need of repair. I booked it because of the hot tub, which I found out hasn't been in service for a long while. The TV didn't work. Talking to another guest that changed rooms 4 times to get one that was clean. I would not recommend this place.

Very disappointing stay. The pictures online did NOT look anything like the room we were given. The room was in poor condition, with peeling paint, visible water damage, stained carpet, and it was not properly cleaned. There was no TV in the room even though one was advertised. While our window wasn't boarded up, you could see boarded-up windows on the outside of the building, which added to the overall poor impression of the property. Overall, the room and property were nothing like what was advertised in the pictures. I would not recommend this hotel and definitely would not stay here again.

A lil sloppy cosmetically. However, everything else was great. No problems. Cleaner than the majority of other hotels that Ive experienced! Pleasant staff.

I was down graded due to the A/C not working from a suit to a twin room then wasn't even compeinsated in in any way.
