I was really looking forward to our starly however sadly we had a number of issues including no working air con in our room which meant we bad to sleep with balcony open which was no great for a busy city. Also asked for extra towels on more than on occassion whcih never arrived. Its a shame as the location was great and the bed comfy and a great shower but issues like AC and poor customer service impacted on my stay.

The stay was generally OK, but this is definitely not a 4-star hotel. * The service was not particularly friendly (with a few exceptions, the breakfast service people were very friendly) * The room was cramped and with a view to a wall with some mural on it, which meant it was always dark even in the middle of the day. * No kettle by default - one was provided when asked, but it hadn't been decalcified since ever. * There seems to be a major lack of maintenance, the walls etc seems to be quite dated * The room was clean and the bed was comfortable * The breakfast was pretty basic, but was fine for 15€ * There's no restaurant or bar or lobby * The wifi is pretty slow * It's centrally located, which is very nice We also noted in Google Maps, which is not present in _any_ review here on hotels.com, that there apparently are MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF THEFT that has happened at this hotel, and where the responses are from the hotel management, to put it mildly, very nonchalant. Luckily for us, we had no valuables to steal but if we had known this beforehand we would have _never_ reserved a room at this place. All in all, apart from the thieving, this would have been a very good 3* hotel, but I have no idea why this is rated as a 4* hotel.

Rooms are clean and have a modern look, but the hotel was under construction and it was a bit noisy. However, the biggest take away from my stay was that the hotel is a 4 star and truth be told, at best they are a good 3 star. The hotel lacked many amenities and I didn’t get the assistance that a 4 star hotel offers. For example, I had no help with my bags at any point. I would have appreciated that so much as I was traveling with children. Again, rooms were nice but the hotel overall was a bit lacking.

Great location, very clean, quiet, equidistant to everything, good rooms and just a good stay overall. Literally next door to Puerta Alcala which gives you access to Salamanca and old Madrid very easily.

Good location, friendly staff. The room was in a quiet area. The bathroom was split into 2 sections. Section one had the sink and a fridge. Section 2 the toilet and a shower. Section 1 didn't have a door to the bedroom so the fridge was noisy during the night. The ceiling alarm light was too bright.

The hotel is in a good location and close to shops. The room we were given was in the basement which was not attractive. The room was clean but definitely would not consider going back. Maybe the rooms in the upper floors are more attractive. When we arrived there was no one at the reception although there was a hand written sign saying they’d be back. But after a 6 hour flight and 15 mins to a lunch appointment it’s not what I wanted to see.

Beautiful property- they adjusted the architecture of this old building to a stunning hotel. Great atmosphere, very well located (walkable to many different places) in a quiet area. The only cons was the size of the room and the size of the bathroom (super small with glass doors that don’t isolate). However the shower- and its water pressure makes for it.

The hotel’s location was excellent — just a short walk from La Puerta de Alcalá, with plenty of great restaurants nearby. El Parque del Retiro is also very close, which made it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and relaxing. Despite being in a lively area, the street where the hotel is located is quiet and feels very private. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. The only downside was that the bathroom area was a bit small, and the room might feel cramped if you're traveling with a lot of luggage. Overall, a great experience in a fantastic location. Perfect for couples or solo travelers who pack light and want to be in the heart of Madrid.

Close to Serrano and main areas. Safe area. Excellent location. They need to update some parts of the hotel that look old. Sometimes there's no one at the entrance counter. Staff very friendly though.

Great location! It was adequite, but a bit disappointing. Definately not a 4* experience. Staff inconsistent; sometimes OK, other times distracted by their own conversations. Breakfast was substandard. I would not recommend booking with breakfast included. With a little bit of love and attention, this could be a great place.

Four Shot Recoletos was a wonderful find. It’s in a great location close to multiple public transport options. The rooms, though small, are lovely. The hotel walking distance from the Prado and the Thyssen art museums, as well as to the center of the city. I’d strongly recommend it to anyone traveling to Madrid. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Property is not a 4 stars hotel at all, needs a lot of improvements, very old building, not room service, not coffee machine at room, small room, but great neighborhood, very confortable bed and feel secure.
