The Castle Rock Country Inn was a good place to stay before driving around Cape Breton Highland National Park. The views from the dining room were beautiful. Our room did not have a view. The room was clean. We did not use the shower. The beds were quite comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast included. Be aware there are stairs to climb to your room; however, they are wide and not too steep. It was quiet at night when we stayed during low season but if you stay when it’s busier, be aware that the walls are a bit thin. Overall, a nice place to stay if you enjoy and appreciate bed and breakfasts rather than modern hotels.

A very lovely old property. We were comfortable and everything was clean but it is definitely showing its age. Very welcoming and lots of communal space on the deck and the lawn. Nice breakfast with everything you could want including seats on the deck to eat with a view. It was quiet. A short drive took us into Ingonish for supper.

The view from our bedroom window was amazing, the staff was polite and friendly and the property easy to find a place to quietly enjoy a coffee or bring your own drink. One km to our restaurant dinner. Included breakfast was top notch. Absolutely loved this resort.

Very friendly and helpful staff! The room and bed are very comfortable. The biggest plus is the wonderful view of the valley and the bay from the terrace. You can also have breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast itself could be a bit richer, e.g. the selection of toppings.

After a long day of driving and hiking on the Cabot Trail, we were greeted warmly by the desk clerk who went out of her way to help us find a restaurant. The room, with a beautiful ocean view was clean, spacious, and well appointed. The next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet that far exceeded our expectations in a roomy dining room with beautiful ocean views. We had a great stay at this location. The room was very clean and a nice size. The breakfast was lovely with eggs, fruit, cereal etc. The staff was friendly. The view was gorgeous despite the rain. We would recommend this Inn and would stay here again.

a disgusting motel. It should be condemned. Filthy room with cobwebs all over. Two useless table lamps in the room and an air conditioner that is uncontrollable and very noisy. We should be refunded!

This was such a lovely place to stay. The room was large and had a great view of the area. There were many places to sit and enjoy the view or just read a book. I could have stayed a week. The staff was so nice and accommodating.

Wonderful place to stay on the Cabot Trail. Jane and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was incredible! We had an Ocean view room which was very comfortable. We even were welcomed and had fun playing bluegrass music in their lounge area. We really hope to return and stay longer next time!

My wife and I were exploring Cape Breton Island and were very satisfied with our three night stay at Castle Rock Inn. The Inn was comfortable and clean and quiet. Our room met all our expectations and offered a spectacular view of the Ingonish Bay Area. Breakfast was excellent, the offerings a cut above. The on-site restaurant was closed as expected given the lateness of the season, but the staff were generous in giving us tips about alternatives, and more generally about interesting things to do in the area. Jane especially deserves praise in this regard. Obviously a very friendly, caring person. Her help was much appreciated.

The stay was adequate enough but upon checkout, we thought the amount seemed higher than what we thought - mentioned to the person at the front desk that it was booked through Hotel.com and they said- “yes and you pay here” so I paid the amount and then checked my booking which was 43.00 less. The booking had all of our details and provided a total amount (taxes included), which was 276.76. The hotel charged more 319.44. Truthfully we would have stayed at a different place. I am sorry but this was not an over 300.00 a night stay, it just wasn’t. So before you pay here, make sure you check your booking and DO NOT pay if it is more. I was told that the hotel would not issue a refund in the amount that was overcharged. This is terrible customer service on the hotel and hotel.com. This is false advertising.

Pros - the view if you were there during daylight hours, comfy bed Cons - pricey, not welcoming at check-in, previous guest left empty wine bottle in room that wasn’t removed, smoke alarm removed from room (is that even legal?), dated bathroom, difficult to open windows, too few open outlets to charge phones, blinds missing from window (just sheer curtain remains), worst breakfast potatoes I have ever had, barely edible eggs, didn’t even as how my stay was at checkout so that I could say anything (since the staff were gone at 8pm) Not worth your money! Definitely not a 4-star like advertised!

Overall, we enjoyed the inn. The breakfast was really good, the views were incredible, the parking was good and it was close to the Highlands Park. Good value for the money. The room was small and it made things cozy but manageable. The restaurant was not open for dinner. There were dome other restaurants near by.

Good - Old fashioned, quiet country hotel with amazing views over the Gulf of St Lawrence, excellent choice of breakfast foods with plenty of healthy options and lovely room. Only slight downside was the restaurant is not open this season which meant going back out when I would have preferred staying in after a long day of driving.

What a stunning view! We were blessed with an ocean-view corner suite on the second floor during our two-night stay. I could wake up to that view every day! Breakfast was solid and the staff were incredibly pleasant. It's a bit of a drive back to town (Ingonish) and the trail heads, but not enough to be a bother. We will be back!

The view was great, the stairs are not. A swffer cleaning mop was left under the bed that was dusty. The breakfast was ok if you like runny eggs and sausage. We did have a great time however and would recommend this Inn. They need to add a microwave as well
