Chisun Grand Takayama

Nice stay. Very close to the railway station and convenient to explore Takayama. There is no proper onsen, but there is a nice "spa", open to all guests, with jacuzzi and wet sauna. Rooms are ok, a bit outdated. Kind staff.

The room was clean and spacious. Staff were all very helpful. Hotel was close to bus and train station making it easy to explore Takayama.

Easy to find. Just a few minutes away. Come out of the station, walk ahead past the information centre, cross the road and walk straight ahead down the street. Walk past the 7 Bank and turn left. Hotel is on your right. We received such a warm welcome. We stayed 3 nights. The room was a reasonable size and we could put both cases open on the floor. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot and WiFi good. You can have breakfast downstairs for around AUD18. In the same room you can make complimentary tea and coffee during the day/evening. They also have a sauna and jacuzzi which was nice to use after a day of sightseeing. For those looking for a good coffee (almost Melbourne standard) and a smaller breakfast, turn left out of the hotel and immediate left again. Over on the right you will see Hids’ Cafe. We went both mornings. They open at 0630 so you can use even if you have an early train. To sum up, we loved this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, position is great, walking distance from everything and it is good value. We would definitely stay again.

Highly recommend. Two minutes walk to JR. Less than ten minutes walk to morning market. Very kind staff. Parking not free but indoor and totally safe. Plenty of dining options nearby.
