Reception and bar area was lovely. Free unlimited coffee was a nice touch. However, the smell in the room wasn’t too dissimilar to that sewer/poor drainage smell in third world countries. It came from the bathroom and we had to put towels on the floor to stop the smell escaping. Using the bathroom was then the most horrific experience due to heaving from the smell. Pool area was ok… but changing rooms were gross. Had to wait 20 mins after the start of our slot in the pool but this was no fault of the hotel - just other inconsiderate guests. When we finally got inside the sauna I was so looking forward to (to escape screaming children in the pool at 9:20pm….) was not working. All in all the most disappointing stay in a very long time. Even worse that it was a birthday surprise for my boyfriend😞

Really nice stay for a couple of nights. We stayed 2 adults and 1 child and had a 1 bedroom apartment with a sofa bed which was not particularly comfortable as a sofa or a bed, so would choose a bigger room next time. Everything really clean, staff nice but the booking system for the pool is bizarre. Clearly not enough time slots for all guests which caused people to become annoyed when there really was no need. It just needs a better system or at least transparency about how the system is supposed to work. A bit of an own goal when everything else is so good. Excellent location, close to shops and beach and recommend the pavillion cafe in Ashton gardens directly opposite the hotel for a breakfast.

Hotel itself was nice and stsff were friendly but there was an awful smell in the room, possibly linked to the drains. Also the steam room and sauna facilities werent working. Given that i had accidentally double booked i thought the non-working facilities may have aided my cause in getting a refund for the surplus booking but apparently not.

Fantastic Family Stay! We had an amazing stay as a family with two teenage girls. There was plenty to do and see in the local area, and the hotel itself was excellent - very clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff were polite, helpful, and genuinely friendly, which made a big difference. The pool was a highlight for us - we used it three times during our stay and loved it! Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning.

A really well thought out hotel. Everything you need nothing you don’t. We met up with family and were able to celebrate together in one room whilst the kids slept in the other. Location is perfect. Swimming pool is fabulous but you need to book your slot which keeps the pool quiet.

The pool is not heated and lacks recirculation, the jacuzzi was non-operational, and the steam room was small and not functioning properly. The bedroom And bathroom Smelt vile, we complained and were told this was due to a sewage leak in the sea which had affected our bedroom. We were told to go for a walk for an hour and put the fan on in the bathroom which might help The smell. It didn’t and we spent as little as time as possible in the room. Considering we paid £380 this was ridiculous. We asked to speak to the manger today, but she wasn’t in. We are seeking to Get a full refund.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our little boy loved using the swimming pool. The location was perfect with less than 5 mins to the beach and into town. A few minor points, the shower was not very powerful and sadly our room was not as clean as would be have expected. Whilst the intake and go breakfast was welcomed, the pastries were a little dry.

Fantastic location, close to everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great communication prior to arrival. Our room was very comfortable, with excellent amenities, and nice bathroom products. The beds were comfortable, with nice quality bedding. The towels were also good quality. The lounge area would have benefited from some soft lighting by way of lamps, and the sofa would have been more comfortable with cushions. Although the apartment was clean on the whole, we felt there was a little room for improvement. The skirting boards were quite grubby in places, and the light in the bathroom was a little dusty. This would not deter us from staying here again though. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the swimming pool. Overall this hotel got a thumbs up from us….and we are quite fussy.

Extremely disappointed & disgusted we have stayed previously only this time we brought our parents children & Australian family to stay booked two rooms. The room was meant to be deep cleaned but on arrival the bed had Feaces marks all over the sheet food & dog hair & pubic and head hair it was honestly disgusting to arrive to this level of filthy hygiene there is massive issue throught all rooms with extreme Sewage smell in one room we had to move for one night untill the bed issue was sorted was the most ransid smell the manager Daniel came upto smell and agreed it was awful and he would refund one night stay as our children or us couldn't sleep it was vulgar. Daniel agreed when we checked out he would do the refund. Myself husband and children decided to leave the hotel our children sick we couldn't stay with the smell dirt & no heating. When my father checked out Daniel was very rude refused any type of refund so went against totally what was agreed. I called to discuss this to be given rude arrogent attitude and told I should lie to Hotels.com and should not have given an honest review. He said on the call no refund will be given due to me telling Hotels.com. The lack of professionalism is disgraceful we have asked for the owner to contact us because the hotel has definitely went downhill its sad to see as this was somewhere we recommend but not after this awful experience. He told me to post my pictures complain he didnt care that he had made an agreement no refund digr

The staff has been very friendly. However, the carpet on the corridor is awful, as well as the storage room (whereas the towels and sheet are stored which are beyond messy, the overall cleanness is so disappointed for a 5 star service apartment expectation.

Car park does not have sufficient parking for the property, and I’m pretty sure people who are not guests use the car parking as there are no parking enforcement schemes or reg number notifications in the hotel. Breakfast was ok , but a lack of variety considering it is only a continental breakfast (which you have to look carefully for when booking as it wasn’t obvious it was just continental. I travelled with my two children and the single sofa bed was not suitable at all for my teenage son, I would NOT have booked this room if I had seen a picture of what is classed as a sofa bed. He didn’t get much sleep at all. Rooms incredibly hot despite it not being hot outside - fans were in the room but they just circulate warm air. The electricity meter or system inside the door of the room omits a loud buzzing sound when being used. Overall - average stay , wouldn’t use the hotel again when travelling with my family but it would be fine for a couple - if we came by train

Room we stayed in was extremely spacious and well designed with quality fixtures and fittings. We had a great stay and would advice to anyone to stay if looking for a hotel that is luxurious, clean and have friendly and helpful staff.

Great service , warm and friendly staff. Spacious modern accommodation a short walk to beach and shops, nice park opposite to take the dog. Simple but good continental breakfast with great coffee. Really enjoyed our stay at Hy !

This is our second time staying here. I like the overall feel of the apartment; the decor, bay windows. The sofa was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever sat on. We couldn’t sit on it for any period of time. This has taken a star off the rating. That plus some drunken people wandering the building in the early hours being very loud and swearing. Not something you want when you pay to stay in a nice place with your kids and lots of other families around. I would stay again but only if there’s was a good offer on.

Although small, the apartment has everything you could need (room 303). Would prefer a larger bed and would usually book a room with a super king, but as this was a last minute booking, we had no option as this was the only room available. The pool area was nice, with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. The only negative was that the room was too warm and due to being on the ground floor felt unable to leave windows open due to security.

This was a small loft room with very small windows and not a great amount of natural light .We had to climb three flights to reach the room with heavy cases .There was no soap or shampoo in bathroom.How they consider themselves as Five star is unbelievable .There was a mechanical door entry system for the main door which we couldnt see clearly to open as they were no lighting outside .

Staff are friendly and helpful but the boiler in the room i was in had packed up. The room was absolutely freezing when i arrived, not helped by all the windows having been left open (Feb in North West!!), staff managed to reboot boiler but following day it had packed up again. I doidnt get back until about 9.30 and i had to pack up and move to another room

Incredible welcome from Maxine on reception. Our second stay here - really convenient for blackpool with good bus/ rail links or 1 hr walk. Love that the hotel is so dog friendly. Will happily return again.

We chose this hotel due to the convenient location for the beach and for the swimming pool. We stayed the 1st time just after the lockdown when the hotel had 1st opened. It had a few minor issues back then I.E not enough towels for guests and no toiletries. 2nd time of staying these issues had still not been resolved which for a 5 star hotel I would not expect. 1 small set of toiletries for the whole family. Only enough towels for 2 guests. We stayed in room 409 which was spacious and had lovely decor. However was all kept awake by a loud buzzing type noise which kept us all awake. I spoke to reception at 2am who logged this. When checking out I mentioned this and asked to speak to a manager but was told there was no manager available until next week ( despite it being high season) and that I had to E-mail any complaints myself! I paid extra for breakfast as during my first stay it consisted of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and pastries, however this time there was only pastries and hot drinks available. We were charged for mini boxes of cereal for the kids. Had I known this I would have not had paid the extra for breakfast as it was not good value for croissants and drinks. The swimming pool was lovely to use at the end of the day but this must be booked in advance.

Fantastic Family Stay! We had an amazing stay as a family with two teenage girls. There was plenty to do and see in the local area, and the hotel itself was excellent - very clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff were polite, helpful, and genuinely friendly, which made a big difference. The pool was a highlight for us - we used it three times during our stay and loved it! Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning.

We loved Hy Hotel Lytham, particuarly the staff and especially Maxine, who could not be any more helpful. Top marks for staff, cleanliness, location and welcoming atmosphere. Cannot wait to return! Steam room and jacuzzi were a little cold but that was just a minor negative. Hope to be back soon.

ALL the staff were Absolute Amazing! Customer service was 11/10! The rooms were nice and clean as well as very spacious. Would DEFINITELY reccomend this Hotel to All!

Extremely disappointed & disgusted we have stayed previously only this time we brought our parents children & Australian family to stay booked two rooms. The room was meant to be deep cleaned but on arrival the bed had Feaces marks all over the sheet food & dog hair & pubic and head hair it was honestly disgusting to arrive to this level of filthy hygiene there is massive issue throught all rooms with extreme Sewage smell in one room we had to move for one night untill the bed issue was sorted was the most ransid smell the manager Daniel came upto smell and agreed it was awful and he would refund one night stay as our children or us couldn't sleep it was vulgar. Daniel agreed when we checked out he would do the refund. Myself husband and children decided to leave the hotel our children sick we couldn't stay with the smell dirt & no heating. When my father checked out Daniel was very rude refused any type of refund so went against totally what was agreed. I called to discuss this to be given rude arrogent attitude and told I should lie to Hotels.com and should not have given an honest review. He said on the call no refund will be given due to me telling Hotels.com. The lack of professionalism is disgraceful we have asked for the owner to contact us because the hotel has definitely went downhill its sad to see as this was somewhere we recommend but not after this awful experience. He told me to post my pictures complain he didnt care that he had made an agreement no refund digr

One night stay. This hotel is a BW Premier and is a collection of serviced apartments. The room we were allocated was large with 2 bedroom apartment which was odd as we'd booked a king apartment. The room for the most part was spacious, clean and had a well equipped kitchen. There was no milk in the fridge. The bed was comfy but NOT a king size. The shower room, there was no bath, was spacious but there was a very strong musty smell which was quite overpowering as we entered. We had to keep the door open and extractor fan on to keep the smell to a minimum. It was horrible. There was no hand soap in the bathroom which was odd. The room we stayed in was out of the main building so we didn't feel comfortable with using the pool, spa, gym but the pool looked OK on the TV screen in reception. The chap on reception didn't seem to bothered about anything. He wouldn't let us check in 25 minutes early saying the room wasn't ready - really? He didn't seem interested and wasn't helpful regarding the coffee machine in reception. He also neglected to tell us the door code or WiFi password. It must have been near the end of his shift. When I called at reception later, a more interested receptionist, was only happy to help. There was a breakfast offered for an additional fee but we didn't try it. Overall a good stay but I wouldn't class it as a 5 Star hotel - 3.5 at best. Would I stay again? Probably not

Really nice stay for a couple of nights. We stayed 2 adults and 1 child and had a 1 bedroom apartment with a sofa bed which was not particularly comfortable as a sofa or a bed, so would choose a bigger room next time. Everything really clean, staff nice but the booking system for the pool is bizarre. Clearly not enough time slots for all guests which caused people to become annoyed when there really was no need. It just needs a better system or at least transparency about how the system is supposed to work. A bit of an own goal when everything else is so good. Excellent location, close to shops and beach and recommend the pavillion cafe in Ashton gardens directly opposite the hotel for a breakfast.

Very good find, central location for shops and beach with a lovely park across the road. Check in was friendly helpful and quick and the apartment was clean warm and very spacious. Parking was just outside the apartment so not far to carry our bags. Great stay and will definitely be back.

Great service , warm and friendly staff. Spacious modern accommodation a short walk to beach and shops, nice park opposite to take the dog. Simple but good continental breakfast with great coffee. Really enjoyed our stay at Hy !

We had a lovely stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our little boy loved using the swimming pool. The location was perfect with less than 5 mins to the beach and into town. A few minor points, the shower was not very powerful and sadly our room was not as clean as would be have expected. Whilst the intake and go breakfast was welcomed, the pastries were a little dry.

Lovely hotel, in a very nice area. This was adjacent to a lovely park. Some lovely shops and restsurants close by. A lovely pier area. Although a good 20 minutes by bus to Blackpool promenade. A really lovely place to stay.

Location is near the city centre it has a free car park check in was at the leisure centre desk was ok our room was up three stairs nice fairly new room with air conditioning and a fan because it seemed to be fairly warm with a sitting room with full kitchen table for 4. Had a great little break with the family. Was nice to have a little kitchen and lounge area as well as the swimming and sauna facilities. Location was great for nipping to the beach or heading to the Pleasure Beach.

Our stay exceeded expectations! The apartment was excellent value for money, offering a clean and comfortable space. The location is perfect—just a 3-minute walk to the sea and with an Aldi conveniently across the road. On-site parking was a huge bonus, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be returning for a longer stay!

Car park does not have sufficient parking for the property, and I’m pretty sure people who are not guests use the car parking as there are no parking enforcement schemes or reg number notifications in the hotel. Breakfast was ok , but a lack of variety considering it is only a continental breakfast (which you have to look carefully for when booking as it wasn’t obvious it was just continental. I travelled with my two children and the single sofa bed was not suitable at all for my teenage son, I would NOT have booked this room if I had seen a picture of what is classed as a sofa bed. He didn’t get much sleep at all. Rooms incredibly hot despite it not being hot outside - fans were in the room but they just circulate warm air. The electricity meter or system inside the door of the room omits a loud buzzing sound when being used. Overall - average stay , wouldn’t use the hotel again when travelling with my family but it would be fine for a couple - if we came by train

Nice apartments, close to shops and pier. Staff were helpful and pool was lovely. Breakfast consists of pastries and fruit, had to go elsewhere or cook for a proper meal. Room didn’t feel clean, very dusty and I felt like the kitchen area within the living room was in need of a deep clean

Arrive for a one night stay check in easy and staff very friendly and informative. Accommodation very nice, but woulnt recommend having the breakfast! Pastries in baskets in the reception area.

Plus- swimming pool, location Not so good: - Breakfast limited (which should be made clearer when booking) but even that took too long to provide (waited for 20+ mins and had to leave). Just one very tiny bottle of each provided at the start - No lift - No direct connection with pool. Have to come out of the hotel and go back in again which does not work in slightly unfavourable weather and young children - Noisy floor (wood/laminate) which does not absorb sounds from above. Considering this was supposed to be a 5star hotel with breakfast extra paid, the room wasn't the cleanest whilst nice interior I found quite abit of dust within environment which I wouldn't expect when it should of been cleaned before we arrived. Breakfast was also very, very poor. Literally croissants and cereal that's it. No bread for toast hot service anything even when I asked for cultery so we could eat croissants at tables got avery disgruntled member of staff saying she would get a "staff" knife Pool was beyond FREEZING and literally unbearable to stay within

The apartment was good - spacious and clean. Good size and equipped kitchen. Pool and spa facilities are good but we were not told in advance that you needed to book a slot to use the pool in advance so nearly missed out on using it and that was the main reason for booking it. Don\'t let yourselves get fooled by the "5 star hotel" description in Expedia, because this hotel doesn\'t even meet the standards of a 4 star hotel. If you do a quick search through My Hotel original website, you won\'t find anything about this Hotel being a 5 star one. Also, it says in the original website that this is an aparthotel and that the breakfast is a grab and go type one. The facilities aren\'t luxurious at all, instead they\'re old, small and the common spaces are dirty. The staff isn\'t welcoming or even helpful. The only good thing about breakfast is a Starbucks machine because apart from that we can\'t really consider that a breakfast which is literally: apples, oranges and two types of croissant (that weren\'t fresh). Also, don\'t expect to find a Sauna (despite sauna pictures shown in the Expedia advertisement) because the place where it used to be one, is closed with not even an apology for not offering that service anymore. It has indeed a steam room: dirty and without the steam. Adding to all of this, the room is good if you want to kill the romance between a couple: old furniture and facilities; the warmest temperature of the shower was a mix between cold and tepid water; the view through the window was towards a building wall; noisy in the corridors; no bedroom flippers, robes or had gel in the bathroom were provided. Very overprice "Hotel" and what was supposed to be a get away for two turns up to be the disappointing experience I had in a Hotel.

Hy hotel cancelled my booking day before check in date. Just a message with no explanation. They did eventually return my phone call the next morning. No chance of finding anywhere else at such short notice. Tickets to ladies golf were wasted. Very disappointed.

Location and facilities were excellent. This was our second visit to the property. There are areas which are tired and a little shabby, there are also areas that could be cleaner. Overall, these minor things wouldn’t deter us from re-visiting in future.

This is a difficult one as we have stayed here several time and had no previous issues however, the 1st room (302) was unacceptable, the soft furnishings and curtains were very stained, it was impossible to remain in that room, the TV also did not work in the bedroom. We were moved to a 2nd room (303) again had issues with the bedroom TV which got resolved but the shower also did not work, there was very little cutlery (3 forks, 1 teaspoon) in this room also so were were constantly washing these up. The staff were very lovely and tried their best to resolve the issue with the TV but we did feel that the basic maintenence of the rooms needs more attention, soft furnishings should be regularly cleaned, showers and TV's should work in every room. We understand that Showers and TV"s can break but 2 rooms on the trot makes me wonder if it is a wider issue. Overall, we were dissapointed this time.
