The location was excellent. The private beach with beach chairs was good. The condo itself was very old and had a very strong smell of mildew. They tried to cover it up with a plug in so then it was a flowery mildew smell. It was the strongest in the master bedroom, where you are sleeping. I feel bad leaving this review but everyone should be warned.

The stay was good . The view is beautiful. Easy access to the beach. Everything you could use for a small vacation. Room I had is beside the elevator so you hear people early in morning n late at night . Expected the pool to be open but it’s closed under construction. If you have little ones and you prefer the pool this won’t be the place until it’s open .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stay in this complex before, but are happy we moved upstairs to 209A and have already booked again for next winter. It is located in a great location on the beach, with great walking opportunities and close to many excellent places to eat. The upstairs deck is perfect for breakfast and some morning sun. We recommend Modern Beach rentals as a place for your stay in Destin. We'll be back next February!

Excellent place to stay! Very clean! We loved the private beach access too. One umbrella and 2 chairs included for the week was wonderful for guests. The beds were comfortable and so were the couches. Be sure to take clothes detergent for the washing machine. The towels that were cleaned for us didn’t smell nice. Everything else was great!

The unit was nice but poorly maintained. When we arrived about 7 PM, the door was open and the door lock/latch was broken. We had to call the leasing agent Southern Vacations and have them arrange for a locksmith to come and replace the lock before we could unload our car. We finally got in the room about 9 PM. Then, we found the light over the stove was out. SV sent a repair man the next day. Then we found the floors to be dirty, with dust, debris, food, small toys and other trash on the floors and under the furniture and beds. Then we found the toilet tank in the master bath leaked and was noisy constantly refilling. SV sent a repair man the next day. Then we found the sink drains in both bathrooms were faulty, one stuck closed and one would not close. SV sent a repair man the next day. Then the pull switches on the ceiling fan upstairs were found to be broken, and light did not work. In short, we paid a premium price for a substandard unit, we were constantly dealing with problems and constantly being interupted by repair men. We were very disappointed and unsatisfied.

Great location. Not the cleanest. I spent the first day and a half cleaning. Opened the bedroom window to get some fresh air and the blinds are so old they are brittle and only one side will lift up and the screen is ripped open. Had to go buy cleaner to clean. My second picture is of the dresser with caked on dust/dirt. I cleaned up leftover vomit on bathroom wall. I will stay in the building again just not in 209A.

The location and balcony view is unbeatable. The apartment is very comfortable, but the AC is deficient upstairs. Also cleaning has room for improvement. Overall it was nice, we enjoyed our stay and had an amazing week!!

Leider war die Wohnung schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt dringend einen neuen Anstrich. Auch die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig - es war aber alles vorhanden, so dass wir saugen und fegen konnten. Der Kontakt zur Agentur war leider nicht so gut - wir hatten Schwierigkeiten mit der Dusche und haben erst am zweiten Tag herausgefunden, wie sie funktioniert. Die vordere Herdplatte war ebenfalls defekt. Die Lage war traumhaft und ruhig. Die Wohnung hat ein Problem mit Feuchtigkeit Stockflecken an der Decke. Strand traumhaft schön…sonst fehlte es an nichts.

The property and location are fantastic. However, 209A could use some updating. It needs a new stove, shower curtain, put a tile shower in with no bath tub, updated bathrooms, and washer & dryer combo.It’s a great place, but it’s ready for some updating. The trim in the place is really dirty and kind of gross.

While the place itself is somewhat dated with old TVs, slow WiFi, and old tables and furniture, the entire place was clean and tidy with a great location for a comfortable stay. No issues and was great for a relaxing vacation. Loved the view from the room and the beach access.

Can’t beat the view and location of the property. The host was easy to communicate with. The unit was clean but can use some updating. The skillets need replaced and stove could use some attention to cleanliness. It is a 8/10.

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was great! We had everything we needed. We loved the size and location of the condo. Our only complaint is that the balcony windows had no curtains. We did have to use the pull out couch, so curtains would have been nice in the mornings. Overall we had a fantastic experience.

There is so much room in this cute condo and the location is perfect! The loft allows for 3 - 4 to easily sleep plus the master bedroom downstairs. We also love this stretch of beach and the direct easy access to some of the best water around. This condo was clean and check in was a breeze - even when getting to town late.

This is a very nice property. We love this location. We have stayed here before in a different condo. We like the three-story smaller place with less people verses a big high rise. Our only complaints compared to the other one we have stayed in here were no curtains or blinds on the windows in living room for those sleeping on pull out couch. Very uncomfortable pull-out couch where you can feel springs. We bought a mattress topper & left it. The other condo we had stayed in provided much more basic things like salt & pepper, etc. All in all, a great trip!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at Crystal Sands. Loved the location and short walk to the beach. The unit was immaculate except for the bed. It was so uncomfortable that my husband ended up sleeping in hall bunk the last two nights. Everything else was top of the line. I recommend getting a new mattress for your guests.

My sister and I stayed here for her birthday, it was perfect! Great communication with management, very clean unit, perfect location! It may be a bit tight for more than 2 or 3 people but it was perfect for us! Would absolutely stay again!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stay in this complex before, but are happy we moved upstairs to 209A and have already booked again for next winter. It is located in a great location on the beach, with great walking opportunities and close to many excellent places to eat. The upstairs deck is perfect for breakfast and some morning sun. We recommend Modern Beach rentals as a place for your stay in Destin. We'll be back next February!

Leider war die Wohnung schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt dringend einen neuen Anstrich. Auch die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig - es war aber alles vorhanden, so dass wir saugen und fegen konnten. Der Kontakt zur Agentur war leider nicht so gut - wir hatten Schwierigkeiten mit der Dusche und haben erst am zweiten Tag herausgefunden, wie sie funktioniert. Die vordere Herdplatte war ebenfalls defekt. Die Lage war traumhaft und ruhig. Die Wohnung hat ein Problem mit Feuchtigkeit Stockflecken an der Decke. Strand traumhaft schön…sonst fehlte es an nichts.

The property and location are fantastic. However, 209A could use some updating. It needs a new stove, shower curtain, put a tile shower in with no bath tub, updated bathrooms, and washer & dryer combo.It’s a great place, but it’s ready for some updating. The trim in the place is really dirty and kind of gross.

There is so much room in this cute condo and the location is perfect! The loft allows for 3 - 4 to easily sleep plus the master bedroom downstairs. We also love this stretch of beach and the direct easy access to some of the best water around. This condo was clean and check in was a breeze - even when getting to town late.

My husband and I stayed at Crystal sands for our honeymoon back in 2020 so we decided it was the perfect place to come back to for our babymoon. We have found the perfect place to always stay in Destin! It is always clean, communication is great, and the location couldn’t be better!
