Stayed 5 nights

First off we had trouble finding the property as it's located down a tiny side road, But when you do arrive the view is just stunning, sea and beautiful green forest, I don't think you would ever get bored of the view. However when you step inside the property that's when things go downhill. As soon as you walk in you can feel the cold and smell the damp. We asked if there were heaters and there were three for the entire house, nowhere near enough. It was dirty, clearly not cleaned for a while, the floors had bits all over them, the sofa still had food crumbs from previous tenants. We spent the first hour or so just sweeping and wiping down the counter tops etc. The bedding was wet, the bed pillows wet the towels also wet, everything just felt cold and wet. The heaters should have been put on at least a day before we arrived. It took two to three days for everything not to feel damp, it got to the point I was looking for a hotel to stay in as it was so uncomfortable and miserable, having to sleep in clothing every night to act as a barrier between you and the wet beds. There were black worm/centipeded type creatures all over the place, walls, floors and ceiling, we were constantly treading on them. I know these are a product of Madeira but not inside the house and not in theses quantities. Sleeps 6-7 only seating for 4 in the lounge and 3 in the kitchen, large area of plaster missing of the lounge wall, I guess it's from damp. We certainly got our steps in just by constantly walking to the fuse box as it would trip as soon as you put the kettle and toaster on together. Or had more than two heaters on. It would have been nice to maybe have a carton of milk or something so we could make a drink but not a thing. This property has such good potential but it's obvious it's all about the money and absolutely nothing else. The only positive I can give I've already mentioned and that is the view.
