We booked 2 nights in a Tower King Oceanfront room, situated in a 7 story building facing the ocean. We were on the first floor, which was disappointing because our view was of a public access boardwalk. All we could see were people hanging out on the boardwalk. You could only see the ocean if you were looking left at the window or on the patio, which had no privacy. We decided we should see if there was another room available on a higher level, so I picked up the phone to call the front desk and the phone was dead! When we went to the front desk and asked about another room we found out they were sold out. The young lady at the desk said there may be one other room she could show us, but it was a resort view in a one story building and was considered a downgrade. We decided to look at it anyway. The view was a fence with 2 brick buildings behind it. It was absolutely awful! So we kept the original room and made the best of it. However, the refrigerator did not work and the room lacked outlets. There was only one outlet behind the bed and the charger port next to the bed didn’t work. This is a very dated hotel and yet they have the nerve to charge an extra $116 hotel fee. But we didn’t really take advantage of the extra amenities such as the pool or the restaurant on the premises. Breakfast was not included and it was expensive. On the bright side, the beach was beautiful and I’m glad we brought our own beach chairs because they would have charged us to rent them.
