Location was perfect lots of pubs and restaurants. However if it was not for these the trip would have been a total disaster. Firstly on the web page it says book in from 1130 yet when you get to the place you can not book in until 1500 not good when you have spent many hours travelling. When you get there the hotel is spread over 3 locations so you don't have a clue where you're going.when you finally the place is a tip. Electric sockets hanging off the walls tiny worn out double bed. Closest you come to a sea view is a picture on the wall of a plate of fruit der mer! The main door is left wide open all night for anyone to enter. Outside of the building is a big poster stating rooms in the hotel are 63 euros a night and yet via Hotels.com we are charged 83 euros plus tax how does that work total rip off avoid at all costs. However on a positive the Normandy restaurant across the street has the best seafood we have ever tasted and to be honest book in their and avoid this hotel.

Starting with the positives. 1. It’s 10/15mins from Calais. 2. It’s close to the beach and restaurants but they all closed at 9pm on a Saturday night. 3. My daughter liked the bedroom in the loft. 4. Lovely old wardrobe. 5. Lots of towels The Hotel is split into three different locations, the one we stayed in wasn’t great but building had character with access through stairs and corridors. We were contacted by someone who sent instructions a few days before advising they would send a code so we could get into our room however, we never got a code and the doors are key locks! On arrival we walked to the main reception located in another hotel and my daughter used the phone which was fun as it was an old dial ring phone and she’s only ever used digital phones. The phone was engaged, eventually someone from the bar came and attended to us and walked us back to the hotel and to our room. At this point there wasn’t much else positive to say. The door was unlocked with the key laid on the bed attached to a key ring made from 6” brass tube so taking the key out wasn’t very discreet. The room, was very very dated with no matching furniture which looked like it had been there since the 1900’s. The shower head was broken and only tepid water flowing, the cubicle leaked badly and no hand soap in the bathroom. No tea/coffee making facilities and no information on how to connect to the WiFi or departure process so we left the key on the bed. In my view it wasn’t worth the price we paid.

Large bedroom and bathroom with hair drier but no tea or coffee making facilities and no kettle. N look lift to first floor. Rather dated decorations throughout but otherwise convenient and quiet. Good reasonably priced food at restaurant Charlemagne. Good breakfast but a bit pricey
