Pine Cliffs Village & Golf Suites

I've read some odd reviews so here's my take. This is definitely a 5 star family resort. We loved it. The setting is beautiful, staff super friendly, lovely beach and the restaurants were all great - particularly the one on the beach. We stayed in a townhouse for 7 nights which worked perfectly for us, as it gave us plenty of room, separate parent and children bedrooms, a lounge area for family games at the end of each day and a kitchen for a bit of laundry, snacks and coffee. There was a seating area outside but we didn't use it much. We paid for half board which worked well for us. It was a bit of a faff having to book places and most restaurants had a small extra cost for more expensive food and drinks (plus tips) but worked out just about fine for us. We didn't find the restaurants that busy and service was excellent. Overall, a wonderful holiday. If I was being picky, I'd say the cleaners left things out on show which didn't feel 5 star, the cleaning was a little random (towels etc.), the gnats need to be sorted or screens used (bit of a nuisance), and better lighting for the main entrance when venturing out and about. But I'd definitely recommend this place - 100%

Overall the services could be improved to match the price tag and 5-star rating. Check-in experience was poor. We arrived at around 2pm via the airport transfer arranged through the hotel. Check-in time is 4pm, which is relatively late. We understand that early check-in is not always possible, but we could not feel that the staff had put in efforts to make our apartment available earlier, nor offer alternative solution (say offering a single bedroom for granny and the kids to settle down). The apartment was only available at exactly 4pm. There was no welcoming drink nor even water when we arrived, which is common in other resorts of similar price range. We went to a few restaurants in the resort. We loved O PESCADOR and the seafood-themed buffet dinner at O Grill. Staff could be more attentive though. The swimming pool we went to was a bit slippery but it was very clean. Check-out experience was stressful. Check-out time is 10am which is very early. Late check-out could only be confirmed at around 5pm the day before. When I asked the staff if we could check out at 1pm to tally with the airport transfer which was also arranged through the hotel, the staff said it should be ok but then his senior refused and said 12noon was the latest she could offer. We finally agreed at 12:30pm - and ironically it worked because we waited for 25 minutes on the road for the buggy to arrive and bring our luggage to the reception. We don’t think this is the standard we should expect.

Clean room Great place for families Staff are young and a little inexperienced. Lots of communication errors (messages not passed on from one member to another) needing more than one attempt at clarification.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment - it was clean, spacious and had a huge balcony overlooking one of many pools. The property is huge (recommend a buggy if you have small children) which meant you never felt crowded, had the choice of lots of different restaurants, bars and pools. The property is beautifully kept

The apartment we stayed in was very clean but did not look at all like the photos. It was very dated and not at all what we expected for the price. The property was right at the entrance of the resort next to the security office!
