Hacienda Rumiloma

Staff was amazing and very accommodating, the grounds and views were breathtaking, authentic touches throughout (including a wood stove!), and the llamas were adorable. No complaints, highly recommend. Wonderful way to celebrate my birthday week.

We entered Ecuador completely blind not knowing what to expect and on arrival were met by a national strike, riots and soldiers on the streets, suffice to say we were a little scared. However our initial impressions and experience soon turned into one of the greatest countries I have visited, and undoubtedly the best hotel I have ever stayed at, seriously if you are ever in Ecuador (and you must visit) you have to stay at the Hacienda Rumiloma it is a wonderful hotel that not only treats it's guest like family, but is run entirely by the workers as a collective. I honestly have never felt so welcome and safe away from my own home. When the tensions died down we were eventually able to leave our hotel and explore the capital visiting the old town and the equator with our amazing tour guide Andres from the hotel. We also went on amazing hikes with some of the best views I have ever seen just behind the hotel! 100% must visit!

One of the best views you will find but we were the only guests in the hotel. Isolated mountain that can be scary. Staff is one of kind. Great service. The road to get to the hotel is very rough and steep. Distance from the airport is an hour but on hotels.com it says 33 min. That was misleading and caused getting a ride early in the morning be unpredictable

I can't say enough great things about the hotel and staff. They were amazing from check in until check out. If you are around Quito at least stay here 1 night.

Such a beautiful and unique property and everybody was so lovely. I wish more people would have the chance to stay here. It was fairly empty…. We had a two-story room with a wood-burning fireplace downstairs. I have never stayed somewhere with that sort of amenity.!
