Royalton Inn and Suites, Wilmington,Ohio

It was easy to check in, however the stay went doenhill from there. Our room had a drawer that constantly came back open. There were footprints on the white comforters, and the pool was cloudy and smelled a little odd. When it came to breakfast, the selection was very limited and both the apple and orange juice smelled like it was spoiled and the apple juice had something white floating in it. We will not stay there again.

The hotel was clean but a little rundown. Pool looked clean and inviting. Doors to the hotel did not lock. The door to our room did not automatically close. Drawers on the dresser kept sliding open. When they asked if we minded a second floor, he didn;t tell us there was no elevator. No ice machin e on second floor. Continental breakfast was sad. No prepared hot food. Just pancakes you put in the toaster. No yogurts. 2 choices of dry cereal. For the price, not bad. Bed comfortable. Hot water good. Did not hear people coming in or out. We were right next to the stairs.

The pool was not in any condition to swim in; there were frogs in the pool, murky water, and miscellaneous items floating in the pool. The expected breakfast was tea and bread. The property owner was very standoffish and unwelcoming.

What you would generally expect from an inexpensive in. The room was clean. The beds were made. There were towels and toiletries. There was a mini fridge in a microwave, and a coffee maker has advertised, but there was no elevator, which was a bit hard for me getting luggage up and down, the free breakfast was just packaged sugared sweets, like hostess cupcakes, powdered donuts and poundcake slices. The juice almost tasted carbonated like it was old and there were no hot or refrigerated items available. We did get what we paid for the room was very inexpensive, and it was cleaned the first night of the two nights. We were there although they did not restock the tissues, the shower drain was broken and needed to be held down with your foot while you were showering to be able to let the water run out. All in all, I might stay there again in a pinch if there was nowhere else to stay, but will be looking elsewhere next time.

Unfortunately the pool was closed for the weekend. Dated but very clean hotel.

Everything was fine except the indoor pool area was too cold to try to swim. The main reason we chose the hotel was for the indoor pool.

Older hotel in average condition. Room was comfortable and quiet. Pool was nice. Breakfast was mostly microwaveable items.

This hotel was a place to sleep for the limited amount of time we were in Wilmington. There's an out-of-control plant growing throughout the lobby. It does need updated starting at the lobby and all the way through all the rooms. The pool is freezing cold, the furniture in the room needs to be updated/replaced, and the beds are low quality. The breakfast left a lot to be desired.

Doors leading to stairs in hall and outside did not lock. Room key would light up that it read the key but door would not open many times without trying it multiple times. I think only once during the 2 day stay did the key work the first time. We had 2 keys and both keys required multiple attempts to open the door. Toilet kept running, had to jiggle the handle multiple times to get it to stop. Toilet seat slid as you sat down on it. Some kind of container/Fish bait left in Refrigerator. No housekeeping Services. Although you could request clean towels at the front desk. Breakfast was a Gallon of Milk in a refrigerator, coffee was terrible, muffins looked like Entamins donuts just rewrapped in plastic wrap. OJ tasted like it was possibly out of date. People were hanging out in the stairwell smoking. The most scary part was there was a person standing at the window of the room by the stairs leading up to 2nd floor, just angrily staring out the window. It was obviously and older male and he was wearing old jeans and a Lavender Bra. Just Glaring. He was there the second night also, although in a different bra. Might be an OK place to stay while your down on your luck but I would not recommend for the usual traveler. Tje only reason I didn't just go somewhere else was I didn't have the extra money to pay for another place to stay, PLUS other Hotels in the area were already booked up. We felt very uncomfortable in this stay

Nice place to stay, very friendly staff. Clean place (including pool area) and good parking. One recommation I would make is to upgrade the fitness room (had one cycle machine, a stairstepper and a cable machine (that was it) that all looked like they were made in 1970 and bought from a thrift store. The room that the fitness center was in was also very small. Limited selections for breakfast too. Other than that a good stay.

Management were kind and helpful, had clean sheets and bathroom. But the place was falling apart. The room looked like it hadn't benn dusted in weeks. Carpet was filthy

I stayed here for the convenience of being able to be within 10 minutes of taking a test. While this is an older hotel, the biggest detriment was a shower liner with several spots of mold in my room. What could be easily replaced for 10 dollars was left up, making me question the cleanliness of everything else. Staff was kind, but I definitely would have felt much better about my overall stay if some of the smaller details had been attended to.

They had bed bugs!!!!!

Bed bigs management did nothing about it

Well the roaches my wife and i killed constantly in the bathroom shoukd give you an idea. Old and run down, paper thin walls diesel truck in the oarking lot running all night kept us up, beds like rocks with pillows to match. Never anyone at the front desk so would not recommend.

Had to switch rooms do to bed bugs. Stuff all over the wall. Dirt and crumbs in the bed. Could see stuff that was spilt all over the bed skirts of the bed and bed linen had stains.

Upon checking in I checked the room and discovered bed bugs, with already checking in, I wasn't able to get a refund at all for the 2 nights I paid for and didn't even stay 5 minutes in the room. I'll never believe advertisement of a pool either.

The hotel greeter/ check in person was very friendly. And able to answer some general questions i had! Although this is an older hotel, my room was very clean. I was very pleasantly surprised to come back to my room after the first night to see me room and been cleaned and restocked, many hotels no longer offer that service unless you are there several days.

The internet Wi-Fi wasn't good! Free breakfast was limited and not as pictured . Front desk was friendly along with the cleaning guy. It could use some overall updating. I would stay there again.

Not enough outlets beds were small ceiling paint in bathroom peeling room was small

It took more than 15 minutes of running hot water for it to get to the shower. The bathroom is small and did I say extremely small? Disappointed in amenities provided, only soap and a body wash, no shampoo or other hair products. The room was "clean" but nor worth the price charged for a one-night stay.

Was impressed with the spacious room and the balcony over the pool.

Beds had no cushion. Like sleeping on boards.

It's an older motel that seems well maintained on the inside. Front desk person was very nice. Breakfast could use some improvements like a protein option.

Owners are very attentive and helpful

The check in person was on their phone the entire time and kept getting my room assignment wrong, the keys didn’t work, had to go up and down the stairs several times with luggage. The hotel is in terrible disrepair and needs to be updated. The breakfast was not serve safe, the health department needs to come there and shut that place down.

I have stayed at the Royalton several times before with decent experience. It is outdated, but usually clean, quiet, and you cannot beat the price. This stay was much different. One, they do not do daily cleaning as advertised. From the first night, each morning I had more and more extremely itchy, burning, painful bites of some sort. I attempted talking to the owner who was EXTREMELY rude and blamed my dogs (I had already paid the dog fee). The dogs that I live with every day, for many years, did not cause these bumbs... I have several pictures that I wish I could share with this review as proof. I wanted to reason with him and not leave a bad review. However, his extremely dismissive "blame the customer" attitude was not acceptable. Especially for a customer paying for a 15 night stay.

The clerk did not find our reservations for two adjacent rooms that we made well over a month ago in Hotels.com. The clerk found our friends another room and upgraded them to a suite. There was a prodigious odor of burnt marijuana all through the hotel (funny how it was to be "non-smoking"). The "breakfast" in the morning consisted of individually plastic wrapped waffles, bread and English muffins with dry cereal, one toaster and a juice machine. Definitely not worth the per night cost.

Place was everything we needed for our visit up with our family and staff was very welcoming and helpful!

I wasn't able to stay for breakfast. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Older hotel but priced well.

This is a decent priced, conveniently located property with an indoor pool. Mattress in my room was a little too soft but the microwave and refrigerator worked and that's much more important to me.

If you need a place to stay for ren fair this is a great option

Pleasantly surprised by this property! It is tucked away in a corner of an area that I frequent but had never noticed the hotel before! The bed was fine enough and the shower was hot with great water pressure! Be aware that there is no elevator, only stairs, up to the second floor, so if accessibility is an issue you may want to request a room on the first floor. Breakfast was pretty sparse and the room was not the cleanest, but overall a good experience and would stay here again.

This is a nice out of the way place to stay. The neighborhood is very quiet and there are plenty of stores and eateries within walking distance or a very short drive.

The property is in a quiet area, however everything is very dated . They seemed to be having a problem with staffing since we did have to go and get new towels ourselves. But the biggest drawback is the very BAD breakfast bar. Honestly just stale cereal and some cheap snack cakes....they didn't even have a toaster.

Hotel needs updates bad. No breakfast was out at 7:45am even though the site stated breakfast 7:00-9:00am daily. No one to check us out. Just a sign that said to leave our cards on the counter.
