Very cute place with a swimming pool. Plenty of parking. They are redoing the grounds and should look beautiful once done. We stayed in the main lodge and the room was quite big! Room could use a good deep clean and a fresh coat of paint. Bathroom was a bit dirty on the walls and corners. Tub drained slow. Toilet and bathtub/shower were separate from the sink area. Which is nice. Small fridge next to bathroom sink. Plenty of seating and dresser storage. Small closet with a few hangers. No facial tissues, which was odd. Bathroom amenities included small shampoo, small soap, and a couple makeup wipes. There was a small coffee maker with cups and coffee, etc. The beds were very nice and plenty of pillows. There are chairs to sit at outside your door on the porch area. Staff was friendly. We did not try the free breakfast. Easily walkable into town main area for shopping and dining.

It was okay for the price we paid. Great location. Clean enough, but dusty on the less used surfaces. We had to park on the road, there were not enough spaces. Shoveling was not a priority. Breakfast was bad. Coffee had to be heated up in microwave. No cute firepit area on a cold night like the description claims. If you just want a pillow to lay your hed on, this is your hotel in town.

There was a snowfall when I stayed at the Inn. I didn't expect everything to be cleared of snow; however, I did expect the outside stairs to be cleared. I also expected a more robust breakfast, considering it's a ski town.

Outside Pool looked clean and inviting. Only complaint was steps outside office need repair.

When we checked into our room, we immediately noticed that the door was already open, which was both strange and concerning. Upon entering, it became clear that the room had not been properly cleaned. The three beds had visible hair, dirt (crumbs), and, most disturbingly, what appeared to be blood spots on the sheets, possibly from bed bugs. As we inspected further, we found a significant amount of debris around the windows, including leftover, partially eaten pretzels. Additionally, there was another door in the room with a deadbolt that wasn’t properly fastened and did not function, creating a serious security concern for my family of four, as someone could potentially enter from that access point. Structural issues were also evident, with cracks in the walls and ceiling, as well as clear signs of the main door repeatedly hitting the wall when opened. Given the poor condition of the room, we strongly believe that this hotel should not be operating in its current state. Within 5–10 minutes, we found another hotel that met our needs and left immediately. This was an unacceptable experience, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this property.

This was the perfect two night stay for me while visiting family nearby. The king bed room was spacious, clean and everything in good working order. The staff were friendly and efficient during check-in and any staff on the grounds over my stay were always friendly. I appreciated the off-season rate considering the town of Ellicottville has higher rate hotels and peak times during ski season. The breakfast included is very basic, but there are other options around, including walking to a café or Tops market. No complaints.

Ants !! Lots of them in the bathroom , not to mention the big spider above the smoke detector. The dust on top the TV was very noticeable. We reported the issues to the front desk with pictures . As we left the office i fell right out front of the office !! The sidewalk was so uneven and lifted up 3 inches , i lost my balence and took a hard fall on the sidewalk banging up my knee and forearm. We will never stay here again !!!

Room was dirty. The last tenants toiletries were still in bathroom drawers. Dirt on shower and toilet was covered with feces. Had to clean toilet before we used it. The tenant in the room next door was smoking so much marijuana that we could smell it in our room. Room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. If you want a cheap room in Ellicottville, this is the place for you. But if you are a clean person, don’t bother with this lodge. Breakfast is muffins, bagels and cereal.

Our room was completely filthy. Sheets weren’t changed and one had a disgusting stain on it that had also seeped through to the mattress pad so it was a new stain. Years of dust everywhere and cobwebs. Wet dirty boot marks left on the bathroom floor. Just disgusting.

The large we stayed in was below average. Carpet tore up in the foyer. Very musty smell in the room. Room was not as indicated on the website. Upgrade definitely needs to be made. I would never stay there again.

We love staying here, but a few things could be better. We’ve stayed here several times and genuinely enjoy it — it’s become our go-to spot. But every time, the upstairs AC just doesn’t work well, and it’s clearly been an ongoing issue. We’ve never brought it up because we assume they’re aware, but it does make it really uncomfortable upstairs in the summer. The check-in experience wasn’t great this time — the guy who helped us didn’t seem very friendly, which was a bummer. It also took some back and forth to get enough towels, which felt unnecessary, though we eventually got what we needed. We also weren’t checked in on at all, and no one came to collect trash or see if we needed anything the whole weekend. We don’t expect daily housekeeping, but even one or two quick pickups or check-ins would have been appreciated. That said, we do still enjoy staying here — the location is great and we always end up coming back. Just hoping to see a little more attention to comfort and service in the future.

Clean room, nice bed. Somewhat difficult to control the temperature in the room but was very nice and cozy. We also came last weekend and had the same room type but the room was a little moldy smelling. This one was much better with no mold smell.

We really enjoyed the location, the views and the walk ability to the quaint downtown. Our room was very small, but had a clean and comfortable king size bed. The property showed wear and tear inside the room and on the outside. Several small “fixes“ Would really elevate this hotel. For example, providing hooks in the bathroom or additional storage areas in the room would be very helpful. The price was affordable and we did enjoy our stay overall One funny incident. Our room had plenty of towels, but only one washcloth. When I went to the front desk for an additional washcloth, I was grilled by the woman at the desk as to what had happened to my other washcloths. I’m sure a lot of towels are stolen, but I felt it was a bit much to question the need for another cloth.

The location was so perfect to walk to town! The king size bed was very comfortable, but our particular room was just way too small for two people. We barely had room to put one luggage down on the floor and walk by it. The two end tables were much too far away from the bed, we couldn't reach and put a drink on them. There were not enough accessible plugs in the room. We were not in the main lodge. In the future we will make sure that we only book in to the main Lodge, which are quite large rooms if you get 2 queen beds. This was our first time there and possibly the main Lodge wasn't available this is just the room that they gave us.

We left a wallet in the room. I called the desk to go look for it and they came back 30 minutes later and said it wasn't there. Then a few hours later, someone else called and said the cleaner found a wallet on the TV. So the front desk person never went to look and lied. Then I asked to have them mail it to me and I would pay for shipping but they wouldn't do it. I had to drive 2 hours to go pick it up. Terrible customer service!

The property has new owners & things just aren't the same. I have stayed at this property yearly for over 20 years in the winter & probably won't be back. I was yelled at for ringing the bell at the vacant front desk at check-in & told "I knew you were here can't you see the camera" & that he doesn't care that I stayed there in the past. I was also told after I paid that breakfast was no longer part of my itinerary because there was only 1 other guest at the property. Wonder why? The room was cold & took 1/2 hour to warm up & I had to shovel the steeps & landing to my room. No breakfast, no outdoor fire pit & no 24 hr check-in. All things that are advertised in the listing. This place used to be packed every time I stayed there in previous years but the rude, negative attitude of the new owner has caused guests to seek other lodging accommodations. Please learn to treat your guests with respect & list the CURRENT property details NOT details from previous years that no longer exist!

The man that was in charge of checking us into our room was incredibly rude, he should never be in charge of any sort of customer service work. Upon check in I was insulted by the employee or owner or manager, I dont know his exact role at Edelweiss but he "helped" me check in to our room. He was sitting out by the fire drinking beer with his buddies when we first arrived and quickly insulted me because I couldn't find the parking lot or front office. In my defense there is literally no signage to indicate where the main entrance is. After calling me a fool for driving around and around in search of the main entrance he insulted my intelligence because I ramg the bell on the front desk, since no one was at the desk I rang the bell like any normal human would to get the attention of an employee. After ringing it twice the man told me I'm an idiot for ringing the bell and asked "Why the hel* did you ring the bell" at least three times. I should have asked for a refund immediately and found another place to stay but it was late and I was tired and my kids were asleep in the car, so I just sucked it up got my key to the room and decided we will never stay at Edelweiss again. The man working there needs to be fired, even then I probably wont return because there are many other places to stay in Ellicotville. Its a shame that one man can ruin a place that would otherwise be nice.

Overall stay was decent. Great location and walking distance from shopping and bars. Staff customer service was pretty poor. Waited for 15 minutes with no one at front desk and then when lady came in she was flustered and was very short with other guests asking questions. At check out, the man who checked me out was very rude. Great stay, poor service.

The property itself was completely fine, however, our upstairs neighbors were banging and making a ridiculous amount of noise from 11pm-2:45 am which made it impossible to sleep. I tried calling the office 4 times around 2 am with no answer. I asked staff about it the next day, to which their reply was “We are not in the office at night. There’s nothing we can do about noise, every hotel around here has that problem”. I find it concerning that staff doesn’t care about the experience of their customers.

Stayed there multiple times to ski Holiday Valley. Rooms are clean and the place is quiet but the water pressure in the shower is not great and the mattresses have seen better days. As for the free continental breakfast, it's on the light side (bagels, muffins, cereal, that's it) so expect to have to refuel on the slopes by lunchtime. Still, if you just need a place to crash on a ski trip at a reasonable price, you found it.

The property does have the potential for better, but the management seems clueless on how to do it. Great location, the town is walking distance. Our room needed small repairs. The hair dryer was left sitting on the sink instead of the bracket being attached to the wall, the shower curtain rod was not hanging properly. Breakfast was so-so, offering a limited selection of just cereal, bagels/bread( toast) apples and yogurt. Juice and coffee were also offered with a couple of brands of muffins. The cereal by the way was stale. I guess you get what you pay for.

It is in the center of Ellicottville so we could walk to church, shopping, restaurants. It was clean enough, the bed was comfortable, plenty of towels. The breakfast was very disappointing! There were some packaged muffins, bread, pb&j, cereal, juice, tea bags. The milk was spoiled - they did bring some fresh when we brought it to their attention. There was no coffee made - had to ask twice for that. There was nothing nutritious and absolutely no fruit. The carafe of hot water was not hot at all, but there was a microwave. When we checked in we received no information or pleasantries. Luckily, we noticed the signage of when and where breakfast was available. None of these things would have bothered me too much except that we paid a LOT for this caliber of accommodations.
