Outstanding location with quick access to all transportation and shopping in Amalfi. Staff was the real difference as they were incredibly accommodating and attentive to our needs and requests. The front desk arrange a private golf cart tour up to Ravello that was amazing. He dropped us off to explore for the day ( with his recommendations ) and then continued to provide insights on the return trip with stops at key photo spots along the way. Super warm and welcoming hotel and staff Rooftop bar had a fantastic band one night. Just a great stay.

LOVED our time at this hotel so much we stayed an extra day. The rooms have so much character and the most beautiful ocean views. The location is perfect, within a couple of minutes walk to the ferry and excursions or shopping. At night the lounge upstairs was a bit loud, and the swimming area attendant wasn’t the friendliest or most attentive but we still had a blast there as a family of 5 (2 rooms).

Great hotel in an excellent location close to the center of town and right by the sea with their own beach club. Friendly staff and a full breakfast included. Nice view of the harbour from the balcony. Nothing to complain about!!

My wife is recovering from back surgery and has difficulty walking and climbing steps. This Amalfi Hotel, The La Bussola, is on the Main Street along the water front. There are six steps up to the main floor and two elevators to the other 4 floors. When we walked about 500 feet from the ferry landing to the front of the La Bussola, hotel staff was waiting to help us with our luggage and the entrance steps. Entering the lobby we were met as old friends by Lucianna who had answered several of my wife’s inquiries. She set the highest standard of service which was met by all other on the staff from room cleaners to restaurant personnel. Our room was extraordinary clean and am decorated. The flooring was ceramic tile with accents of local flowers. Our room as all rooms had a small balcony over looking the Amalfi Promenade and bay. Several time we needed assistance with scheduling activities. The staff immediately attended to our request. I can only say that it was one of my best experiences among those I’ve had in my 82 years and 40 countries visited.

Awesome hotel. Staff is very helpful, a two minute walk to Amalfi shops and restaurants and bus and ferries. We had the balcony and in October we opened the door and could see the sea plus get the breeze in. Only about 5 stairs to get to the lobby and the staff were so helpful to get the luggage up and down them. In an area where there are stairs everywhere this was great. They also have an elevator to the floors plus a free breakfast which was yummy! We’d absolutely stay again!!

Hotel La Bussola, is a wonderful and unique property. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and do whatever they can to make you feel comfortable. The views from the room with balconies are simply awe inspiring, with direct vistas of the ocean and the small boats it was for us the best way to start our morning and to end our evenings. The most practical thing was that its location allows you to go out into town and walk back to your room without any hassle of having to climb hundreds of steps. Francesca on staff was just amazing, she is genuinely kind and very helpful to us during the time we spent at the hotel. The cleaning staff were truly very talented, taking cleanliness to another level and with a smile. We would definitely return to Hotel La Bussola! We spent 6 days there as our base and in total stayed 11 days in the region.

The hotel has a great old charm to it. However, it was quite noisy outside. The noise started at 5am with barking digs and motorists. The housekeeping started at 7am with moving furniture and lots of banging. The hotel was clean but has an awful smell in the evening of rotten egg. The size of the room was fantastic and the location was convenient.

Aircon barley worked and it took hours to get the room cold. The doors/isolation in the rooms were very thin and we woke up multiple times hearing people in the corridor outside or in the rooms next door. Otherwise an ok hotel with good location and views.

Very close to bus and ferry terminals - very convenient to use as a base to go to Ravello, Maiori, Minori and close by islands. Helpful staff who provided good information on tourist spots and transport connections. Wifi in room is very weak - best to use internet in breakfast area or lobby.

Location is excellent. Marina view on the no through road so no road or traffic noise. Breakfast was great, omelettes were fab. First floor rooms in need of updating but cleaned and fresh towels daily. Location was excellent for getting into the town or the ferry or the bus. Recommend this hotel definitely

L’hôtel bénéficie d’un emplacement idéal dans Amalfi mais les 4 étoiles ne semblent pas complètement justifiées : chambre vieillotte, pas de chaînes internationales,… Je n’ai pas non plus aimé le fait que le petit déjeuner ne soit pas en self service, il faut demander ce qu’on veut au personnel qui toutefois est très sympathique.

Gute Lage, aber sehr laut. Das Zimmer war- abgesehen von neuen Fenstern- etwas in die Jahre gekommen, außerdem sehr klein. Das Personal an der Rezeption war freundlich und hilfreich.

We had a view and balcony facing the water. It was a little loud at night but that's because we had the windows open/shutters closed to let in the breeze. Room itself had a comfortable bed, pillows and nice bathroom. We found the staff at the desk to be very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good with many choices and delicious made to order coffees. The location was close to the ferry, bus and main shopping street of Amalfi. We would stay here again. The staff also helped us arrange a driver to Naples for departure.

The hotel, service personnel except for 1 front desk person were great. However, I would like to speak to someone to settle an issue that I had with the facility personnel regarding a request of an upgrade. I had asked for an upgrade the day before of my check in. I was quoted $50 per day difference which I had agreed to but at check out I was billed $99 per day difference. I tried to explain that there calculation was based on their net amount (total amount less commission) so for me to pay $99 per day I was paying the original commission again. They disagreed with me and being the lobby were filled with people, I paid the amount and left. I’m hoping you would be able to help me settle this issue. You can contact me. Thank you!

Outstanding location with quick access to all transportation and shopping in Amalfi. Staff was the real difference as they were incredibly accommodating and attentive to our needs and requests. The front desk arrange a private golf cart tour up to Ravello that was amazing. He dropped us off to explore for the day ( with his recommendations ) and then continued to provide insights on the return trip with stops at key photo spots along the way. Super warm and welcoming hotel and staff Rooftop bar had a fantastic band one night. Just a great stay.

This hotel was amazing. It’s so close to the port if you are taking the ferry in and still close to all the shops and restaurants. The staff were attentive and super friendly! We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and when we got there they offered us a complimentary bottle of champagne. If you are staying in Amalfi, I highly recommend this place!

We had a view and balcony facing the water. It was a little loud at night but that's because we had the windows open/shutters closed to let in the breeze. Room itself had a comfortable bed, pillows and nice bathroom. We found the staff at the desk to be very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good with many choices and delicious made to order coffees. The location was close to the ferry, bus and main shopping street of Amalfi. We would stay here again. The staff also helped us arrange a driver to Naples for departure.

Only about 5 stairs to get to the lobby and the staff were so helpful to get the luggage up and down them. In an area where there are stairs everywhere this was great. They also have an elevator to the floors plus a free breakfast which was yummy! We’d absolutely stay again!!

Location is excellent. Marina view on the no through road so no road or traffic noise. Breakfast was great, omelettes were fab. First floor rooms in need of updating but cleaned and fresh towels daily. Location was excellent for getting into the town or the ferry or the bus. Recommend this hotel definitely

Great choice made by my wife to stay here. Easy to get ferry’s, buses or taxi. The hotel is in the middle of everything and don’t have to struggle up hills like so many places.

This was a great location right in Amalfi that allowed us to walk to all of the attractions. Nice free breakfast even if we did skip it most mornings to have some of the amazing pastries that are all around town.

Nice hotel in great location but they have unusual and inconvenient system for serving food for the breakfast! Guests can’t help themselves for the open buffet there was one staff to serve you and all the guests have to wait till she finishes before serving the second guest and if you forget soy or need to top up you have to take queue again, how silly was that!!

I had an excellent stay at Hotel La Bussola. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel is beautiful, and right on the water, and only a few minutes walk to the main port and square of Amalfi. It is just off the main highway of the Amalfi coast, so the street in front is not too busy. The view from the terrace is great. Breakfast was delicious, although only offered for two hours in the morning. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
