Loved this place! Lots to do - beach volleyball, basketball, cornhole, pool table, ping pong, etc - along with a nice swimming pool, beach areas, jet skis and parasailing available plus boat trips from their marina. Tons to do, good food in their restaurant, plenty of parking, etc. No need to leave really. Nice staff as well.

A very nice property, but the upkeep of the pool and hot tub is poor. The hot tub water level was not high enough to go through the skimmer. The water was green and there was mold growing under the ledge surrounding it. People didn't seem to notice though and were using it. We talked to the manager about it and it was closed for about an hour only to be opened again in about an hour, but still in poor condition. There was a lot of oil from sun lotion on the pool water and it was questionable how safe the water quality was. Our room was nice, but not updated. The door was in poor condition and did not close well. The balcony is a real plus. The "private beach" is very small and the water sports there made for frequent noise and exhaust fumes. We finally found a better area to the east of the restaurant where it was nicer and had the outdoor fire to sit by at night. I've seen too many places that look so wonderful when you see the pictures online, but they often aren't as nice as they look. What it really comes down to is would we come back to stay here? The answer is that we would not. It was expensive not worth what we paid.

We are frequent visitors to the Keys, but this was our first time staying at The Reef. This was by far our favorite place to stay. The property was very clean and well maintained. Also the view from our room was amazing. We enjoyed the small beach and on site restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Special kudos to Carlos at the beach bar for making us the best Mai Tai’s and to Tia at Gus’s for her exceptional service. We will definitely be back 😊

Great 5 days on Key Largo at the Reefhouse. Only thing my wife and I were surprised that you had to pay for the use of kayaks. We’ve been to other resorts and they were included in the price of our stay.

I travel to many different places and have gotten bedbug bites in the past from various hotel experiences. My main priority when booking hotels is cleanliness. Well, I got bedbug bites for the second time out of more than 30 different hotel stays, not to mention that the room had no hair dryer. The door needed to be fixed. The swimming pool was fine, but the hot tub was very dirty, with dead skin floating in it. The staff was nice, and room service was good.

need to use a power washer around restaurant deck and doors to get rid of mildewing. Also room baseboards are dirty and stained in our room. poperty could be so much better with some cleaning and redecorating.

We woke up after night one covered in bites. Discovered a bed bug, caught it and brought it to the front desk. Management "lost" the bug and claimed that the inspectors found no evidence. We have ample photographic evidence. Additionally, the property is run down, moldy and in dire need of a facelift. This was not the resort experience we expected for the nightly rate. I recommend staying somewhere else.

We booked for two nights and left the next day after check in, simply because the bathroom of our room was really dirty to shower in. Also, we saw what seemed to look like blood stains in one of the couch pillows. Overall the resort is okay, but they definitely need to invest in cleanliness .

Cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of every staff member. They even provided chocolate chip cookies every day at the check-in area. We stayed in a suite with a perfect view of the pool and bay. I highly recommend this resort.

Loved this place. Our room was on the top, 4th floor, so our partial bay view was amazing. If we were the 1st floor it would’ve been mostly blocked by the one restaurant. Private beach and pool were amazing. Another area had games, volleyball and hammocks that were a fun option for walking around. Water sports bookable on sight which was a convenient option. Rooms were cleaned daily which helps with all the sand. Drink and food service and towels were always available. It wasn’t very busy when we went. My guess is the pool and parking would be very crowded if the hotel was fully booked.

Nice oceanfront room w balcony Propery nice - spread out so couldn’t find tiki bar happy hour over at breezer’s as not great labeling or signs on property Water out front of our room adjacent to getting rentals very orange yellow murky as lot of sea grass so would recommend going to a different beach as we did ( baker’s cage).. no mag mirror in bathroom . Need better restaurants - overall nice feel fairly ok work out room - tiki pool bar nice - lots and lots of kids around pool - if that’s what u want then this is place for you- we have 4 and are empty nesters just this year and so would have liked an adult pool option

Where do I start? 1. Rooms have no sound insulation. You hear every word from people in room next door, above or from people sitting on their balconies or walking the halway-and I mean every word. Have not experienced anything like it in well over 30 years of traveling. Took videos of noise kevel at 5:30 am. 2. No charm. The main bar is fully enclosed-- in the Keys!!!. Everything is very dated 3. This seems completely overpriced . At that price level, I have experienced much better in the Key's

Had a wonderful view from the 3rd floor. Room was spacious. Spent most of our time at the beach which was nice, plenty of chairs available. Ate at the restaurant 3 times and had a great experience each time. Parking was plentiful. Overall a great property and would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Reefhouse. The checkin and checkout process was super easy and quick. We had a great time relaxing on the beach with a tasty drink. It's walking distance to Sundowners and Big Chill where there is great food, live music and fun. I took away a star for the lack of water pressure in the shower. At least for our room, the shower water pressure was very weak which makes shower not as enjoyable. I hope they can fix it soon.

The hotel definitely has that classic, old-Florida Keys charm, which I understand is part of the concept and appeal. That said, I think some of the facilities could be improved while still keeping the same “style.” The beds, for example, were not the most comfortable. On the positive side, the location is fantastic — with its own private beach and beautiful views, it really makes the stay worthwhile. The food was good, and while the service was standard (nothing exceptional), it was overall a pleasant experience. I also really appreciate that the hotel is welcoming to kids, which makes it a nice option for families. For a weekend getaway, I would definitely recommend this place.

The resort is lovely and room was very nice. It seems like they are transitioning so there are things in the room that are old but other amenities that look updated. For example, bathroom shower doors look from the eighties but the floor and shower tiles have been updated. The room we had a running toilet so the door needed to be closed so that we could sleep. The main door to the room would stick since it looked like they painted over the paint but never stripped the old paint prior to repainting it. Opening the door took a bit of man power to get in and out of the room. The biggest disappointment was the bed mattress. It was either old or they purchased an extra extra soft mattress. It was like sleeping in a hole. It was so bad I left the place with a sore back and stiff neck. Nonetheless, the place had a great view, two restaurants, and felt clean (for the most part). Staff was great and helpful. Not sure if I’d go back again because of the bed but if that was addressed, I would definitely consider it again.

Upon check-in we were charged more for the resort fee than was stated in the Hotels.com booking. It wasn't a huge amount, but I questioned it and they gave me "Expedia got it wrong" like I'm just supposed to accept that I'm paying more than the agreed upon and expected "resort fee." Then they told me that they usually have complimentary refreshments in the lobby, but were out. The WiFi didn't work well, so was unable to use the Peloton bike in the fitness area, and we were given three different closing times for the pool. At one point, a guard of some sort kept coming by about every 15 minutes about an hour before the pool was to close to remind us. Mostly I don't recommend due to the bait and switch on the price, though.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Reefhouse. Staff was friendly and helpful. Water and cookies at the front desk is a nice touch. Carlos, bartender at pool bar, went out of his way to make you feel welcome. When we saw him the following day he even remembered our drinks.

We have stayed at many Opal resorts. On this trip alone this was the third Opal resort and by far the least accommodating. At check- in there was no one to assist with luggage or even tell us where to locate a trolley to put our suitcases on to go to our room. No one at the check-in desk gave us an overview of the resort or told us what was available. No one smiled, said good morning, good afternoon or good evening. Staff was hard to find. Considering the cost of our room this was a very negative experience for us.

The only thing I did not like was that I was told we had free breakfast when checking out after 5 days. My girlfriend went to the lobby and asked what all was included with our stay and breakfast was not mentioned. When checking out there was a very nice girl that told me about breakfast which kinda sucked because it would if been so helpful to get breakfast for my girlfriend with that much convenience. She needs to take her morning medication with food so I had to get food delivered every morning. Other than that, the resort was very safe. The whole key largo area was amazing and when ever we had some type of an issue the staff responded rigth away. We even had an issue with the food at the restaurant and the manager made us another plate! We went snorkeling, jet skiing and hit the bar. Amazing time!

The staff that greeted us were very informative and friendly. The pool bar is extremely busy and very understaffed. The wait was so long that I went to the Breezers restaurant to get a drink. There were 2 people working on Sunday later that afternoon, and the place was empty. Meanwhile, at the pool side bar that day there was one person trying to handle a lot of people. I even mentioned to the bartender at Breezers that the guy at the pool bar could use some help. The food is ok, definitely did not meet the description as far as "chef inspired" quality. Overall, the property is very clean, and the entire staff are very friendly. I would stay here again.

A beautiful, clean property that never feels busy. The private beach and pool area are great for relaxing. Love the torches and fire places at night. Fantastic views of the sunset and close proximity to John Pennekamp State Park (for some amazing snorkeling). Thank you for a great stay, we have now done two years in a row and will be back!

The location of this place is unreal. I could warch my bpar from my room, cruise to the Everglades in 5 mins, be at Pennecamp in 10 and enjoy the open Ocean in 15 mins. So amazing!

Nice resort with great amenities & excellent staff. Nice pool & beach area water sports & loved visiting the Mote Marine lab onsite. Only downside: located right off main highway so there's some street noise and if the weather isn't nice there's nothing to do.

This property was first class in every aspect. The room was comfortable and spotless. The view from my balcony was absolutely beautiful. There were 2 very good restaurants on site and an outstanding pool bar. Additionally, we arranged a sunset cruise, which was phenomenal! We wil definitely be back!!!!

I had a great stay! The check-in process was quick and smooth, and there was plenty of parking available. The staff was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond-surprising me with a complimentary bottle of champagne, which was such a thoughtful touch. The tiki bartenders were fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip!

We had a wonderful stay at Reefhouse Resort and Marina. Celebrated our 50 th Anniversary and made it memorable by jet skiing and snorkeling ! The staff was exceptional and made each excursion exciting and enjoyable ! Dined at Gus’ and once again the staff was on point ! The menu was very creative and the food was perfect in every way ! We hope to return soon !
