The hotel/pub is on a main road so if your a light sleeper this might not be for you. The staff at the pub were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and cosy. Parking was easy. We were working in Lancaster the following day and this hotel was perfect for us, we both slept fine.

Staff were amazing, room was beautiful and very well kept. Would only have to comment on the light shining through the bathroom window all night from the storage area outside, and the shower cubicle wasn't very clean (moldy grout, mold on shower fittings), but the room itself was very modern and warm. We stayed in room 9, which was dog friendly. It was located on the ground floor, right near the entrance to the pub, I was worried we would be able to hear everything going on but I can't say that we were disturbed by any of the other guests walking past the room at all! Food is VERY reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Was told & it states on the sheet the bars open til late it was closed for 10pm. Breakfast for £20+ was just odd bits of stuff scattered on a table won’t be staying again

Delightful managers and staff, ready and eager to help. The room (3) itself was beautiful and cosy. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bedsheets smelled lovely. The shower was amazing, the bathroom gorgeous. The general decor of the room and bathroom were lovely. I would definitely stay here again! Unfortunately I didn’t have time (I was working) to sample the food, but I definitely will next time! If you have accessibility needs, let them know way ahead of time as most of the rooms are up a flight of external stairs. But the kind manager helped me upstairs with my very heavy bags! At the back of my room was a flowing river, and it was a beautiful view. 10/10 experience on every level. Check out is 11am and check in starts at 4pm. But I think they offer early check in too if you make them aware beforehand. Plenty of safe parking onsite. Teas and coffees were provided and tv too! A wonderful experience from start to finish!

Great stay at this comfortable old Inn. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent and plentiful. Our room had everything we needed and we especially liked the large shower. The only negative was that it is right next to a busy A road, but most of the accommodation is at the rear of the property. The road noise was only noticeable in the bar/restaurant which is next to the road. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Nice place to stay, lovely restaurant staff. Bedding, towels so fresh and clean. Nice breakfast and £20 for a dog to stay too (£15 online needs updating). Great stay and definitely wil be back. Great dog walk along the river from the picnic stop.

the room was lovely and was well decorated and maintained.Lovely bathroom with a good powerful shower we were in room1 which i think was the largest room on available.The room could of done with some heating in the room in the evening as it was cold. the staff were very helpful and pleasant and the service was good. We went on a Thursday and there was plenty of free parking spaces. we booked the hotel as it promoted fish and steak on the menu-the tables were all set and well presented.i ordered fish pie which came in a dish and nothing else-the topping was crispy but overall it was really disappointing as it only had one tiny prawn and not much taste and a few green beans or a selection of veg would of made a real difference. i only have a small appetite but i was still hungry when i had finished the portion. my partner ordered the chicken katsu and it looked good and was very tasty but again just came with rice and no other side. So it was a nice experience but i would not go back due to the food-plus there are so many other hotels in the area

The room was very comfortable once we had turned the heating up a bit. The shower room was big with a hot powerful shower. The only slight complaint about the room was that either the carpet had not been vacuumed or the vacuum cleaner was useless. The restaurant is very welcoming and serves excellent food.

I’ve been staying here quite frequently over the last few months awaiting a house move and to begin with it was excellence at a fair price. The superior rooms are the ones to go for (there’s two, 7 and 8) as the others are lacking general cleanliness (plenty of spiders webs and bugs around) and the beds in the standard rooms are significantly less comfortable than the superior ones. I’ve also eaten here a few times. The first time was great, the second time was barely edible.

Property looks in need of a refresh but the room was very good and comfortable inside. It was clean and well presented. Evening meal was excellent.

The staff here are incredible, so friendly and helpful. We stayed for a nearby wedding and they gave us an iron and iron board and taxi recommendations. The food also tasted amazing and was great quality, the menu isn't large but they do regularly change their specials. The room itself was nice, it was quite small but to be expected for such an old property, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom modern. Our only issue was the cleanliness. Overall it was good but there was a large amount of hair under the bed that would emerge whenever we got into bed. The other only add on would be the addition of a mini fridge. Completely understand that it's a bonus not a necessity, however the room was very hot and simply drinking water felt like it was straight from the kettle. I would recommend staying here to anyone needing to, its great value for money and served it's purpose great

Rooms compact but have everything you need. Checkout on the booking stated 3pm but when I arrived there was no one there and everything was locked. Check-in was actually 4pm. I was in the first room -2 - and it was next to a boiler/air conditioning unit. Very noisy and kept me awake.

Not great. Left standing around at the reception point for 10-15 mins owing to staff shortages. Food was ok but noticed grumpy customers complaining about the standards. Batter on the fish served was too thick and undercooked which was disappointing. Staff were all friendly. Room was ok and a great shower to revive.

The staff here are incredible, so friendly and helpful. We stayed for a nearby wedding and they gave us an iron and iron board and taxi recommendations. The food also tasted amazing and was great quality, the menu isn't large but they do regularly change their specials. The room itself was nice, it was quite small but to be expected for such an old property, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom modern. Our only issue was the cleanliness. Overall it was good but there was a large amount of hair under the bed that would emerge whenever we got into bed. The other only add on would be the addition of a mini fridge. Completely understand that it's a bonus not a necessity, however the room was very hot and simply drinking water felt like it was straight from the kettle. I would recommend staying here to anyone needing to, its great value for money and served it's purpose great

I stayed here for 2 nights to use as a base to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks as well as head towards Windermere for an after. The entire experience was brilliant. The room was fantastic, the food amazing (I had the burger one night and the steak the next, both absolutely gorgeous and perfectly cooked). Most of all the staff were so friendly and welcoming, going as far as to giving me a card on my birthday which was a fantastic little touch. Overall I would happily stay here again if I'm visiting around this area without question!

The hotel/pub is on a main road so if your a light sleeper this might not be for you. The staff at the pub were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and cosy. Parking was easy. We were working in Lancaster the following day and this hotel was perfect for us, we both slept fine.

I’d booked this thinking it was close enough for the 3Peaks but it’s not and I may have just gone home. It’s comfortable enough breakfast was okay and the staff I met were pleasant enough.

Inn is lovely old building with good parking to front. Room was motel type of building to the rear of main building. nice and very clean but small. No internet connection at all. Only couple Tv channels. Breakfast was ok limited amounts of everything laid out and had to ask repeatedly for things. Food in restaurant was ok but fish pie bland no taste other than mash potato topping.

Delightful managers and staff, ready and eager to help. The room (3) itself was beautiful and cosy. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bedsheets smelled lovely. The shower was amazing, the bathroom gorgeous. The general decor of the room and bathroom were lovely. I would definitely stay here again! Unfortunately I didn’t have time (I was working) to sample the food, but I definitely will next time! If you have accessibility needs, let them know way ahead of time as most of the rooms are up a flight of external stairs. But the kind manager helped me upstairs with my very heavy bags! At the back of my room was a flowing river, and it was a beautiful view. 10/10 experience on every level. Check out is 11am and check in starts at 4pm. But I think they offer early check in too if you make them aware beforehand. Plenty of safe parking onsite. Teas and coffees were provided and tv too! A wonderful experience from start to finish!

Great stay at this comfortable old Inn. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent and plentiful. Our room had everything we needed and we especially liked the large shower. The only negative was that it is right next to a busy A road, but most of the accommodation is at the rear of the property. The road noise was only noticeable in the bar/restaurant which is next to the road. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Our first night stay during this UK trip. If only all places were like this. We booked it as a 'King', but were originally shown a lesser room. Was perfect for our weary jet-lagged bones that had started the day in Calgary Alberta over 20 hours before. Up and off to Lindisfarne via Ribblehead, Buttertubs and Wensleydale the next morning. Would stay again. Food was excellent at the pub.

Really disappointing! I found the room stuffy and far too hot suring the night. The pillows are just not comfortable. Had dinner and it was ok although the steak was a bit chewy. Service was fine. BUT i would never stay here again as breakfast was an absolute farce! There were 5 people in the restaurant and it took an hour to have breakfast. Service was terrible. Ordered full english and asked for toast. It took 40 mins for the food to arrive. I sat waiting and waiting for the food. When the food arrived the toast was dumped on top, the yolk of the paoched egg broken and had become solid. The staff didn't care. I spoke to the waitress and breakfast chef and they just shrugged off my comments. This hotel is supposed to be a gastro hotel and it falls far far short of this! This is probably the worst breakfast I've had in a hotel and Ive stayed in a lot of hotels.

Not great. Left standing around at the reception point for 10-15 mins owing to staff shortages. Food was ok but noticed grumpy customers complaining about the standards. Batter on the fish served was too thick and undercooked which was disappointing. Staff were all friendly. Room was ok and a great shower to revive.

the room was lovely and was well decorated and maintained.Lovely bathroom with a good powerful shower we were in room1 which i think was the largest room on available.The room could of done with some heating in the room in the evening as it was cold. the staff were very helpful and pleasant and the service was good. We went on a Thursday and there was plenty of free parking spaces. we booked the hotel as it promoted fish and steak on the menu-the tables were all set and well presented.i ordered fish pie which came in a dish and nothing else-the topping was crispy but overall it was really disappointing as it only had one tiny prawn and not much taste and a few green beans or a selection of veg would of made a real difference. i only have a small appetite but i was still hungry when i had finished the portion. my partner ordered the chicken katsu and it looked good and was very tasty but again just came with rice and no other side. So it was a nice experience but i would not go back due to the food-plus there are so many other hotels in the area

A really lovely place to stay in the Lune valley. I had a meal downstairs in the pub and it was excellent. Well decorated, comfortable room and very friendly owners and staff. Would recommend and stay again!

Very nice hotel and the food was excellent, the dinks a little pricey. The staff were vey good and friendly. The only minor thing was the lighting in the room – this was a little dull for reading in bed and the mirrors, in both the bathroom and bedroom, had no light covering their use. Otherwise good!
