When we arrived we found out the t.v. did not work. Then we discovered that their Hot spring Hot tub was not hot, it was warm. If you come for the hot tubs go on down the road a short way to the Foss hotel great HOT tubs and spa.

The cabins were very comfortable and had fast WiFi. The day was rather cold so the central heating was a bonus. The troll walk and waterfalls made the stay fun and the food in the restaurant was excellent and well priced. I can recommend the beer. Check in was easy and the staff very pleasant. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Ok, this is a "country" hotel. It is more like cabin buildings with multiple rooms per each building. The room was clean and comfortable with heated floor in the bathroom....nice. This hotel also has a cooking area in case you wanted to prepare your own meals along with a restaurant (which we did not eat at). It was comfortable and cozy and the small waterfall in the back of the reception building was nice.

If you don't stay at this hotel while in Iceland you are missing a gem! It is located in the country, but not far from village amenities. The property is surrounded by walking trails and is perched on the side of a river with rushing water and falls. The restaurant serves a great dinner too! WE had traditional Icelandic fish and lamb. The rooms were cozy and the hot tub was a delight. Plenty of parking. There are also little camping cabins. The staff were friendly and responsive.

The property is in a beautiful location right above the troll, but is pretty dated. Ratty towels and old beds and rooms, might be a good place for a family looking for a deal. The trolls and rock ‘n’ roll theme were a little off, but again fun for kids. Nice to have a hot tub with geothermal water at the end of the day, but there were no views and bright lights in the hot tub area, not very relaxing. Breakfast was decent.

Das Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich und gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer und aus dem Restaurant war toll. Wir schauten direkt auf einen Fluss mit kleinen Wasserfällen. Die Zimmer waren nicht besonders sauber und sehr renovierungsbedürftig, die Möbel hatten starke Gebrauchsspuren. Im Badezimmer waren alle Haken und Befestigungen lose.

Everything was wonderful..the room was spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfy. We had cabin #1 And the view was to die for!! The breakfast was more than expected and very filling with a good selection. The staff was very warm and welcoming..I just loved this place!

Amazing location, great breakfast. We had one restaurant meal which was good. Used Kitchen for other meals. Used hot tubs and room was very warm and comfy. Would definitely recommend. Nearest supermarket is probably about 20 minutes in Borgarnes.

Traumhafte Lage am Trollwasserfall mitten im Grünen im Borgarfjörfur-Gebiet. Ich hatte das Zimmer Nr. 1 ganz links mit direktem Blick auf die Tröllarfossar - wunderschön aber nachts eben auch sehr laut. Natur kann man nicht ausschalten ;-) Ich würde wieder buchen, dann aber ein Zimmer weiter am Ende der Reihe. Personal sehr nett, Frühstück alles da was es braucht.

Fint lille vandfald udenfor. Seværdigt. Men når det så er sagt, så vil jeg ikke anbefale overnatning på dette sted. Det har måske en gang været godt, nu er det nedslidt, og maden i caféen er uspiselig. Havde et panorama udsigts værelse, desværre er det der folk går forbi ud til udsigtspunkt, og stien var kun 1 meter fra vores vindue. De kunne lige så godt have gået inde i vores værelse.

An absolutely amazing local hotel, restaurant, and campground. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, courteous, and helpful, and we loved every aspect of our time (two nights - wish it could have been longer). The food at the Rock-n-Troll pub was excellent and the views of the surrounding natural beauty were peaceful and magnificent. 6 stars out of 5 (and no, I'm not being paid for this review)

We loved everything about our stay here. If you are thinking about booking here, do it! The views are amazing & the staff is nice & accommodating. Book your dinner reservation for the sunset on their patio! Its gorgeous! This is a must stay in the area for sure! We are all in this one together and together we aint neva gonna be alone!

Our stay here was fantastic. The owner was wonderful and helpful and the dinner was delicious. We stayed here on our last night in Iceland and it was the perfect spot. We saw the Northern Lights and it's right near a beautiful waterfall. They have a troll walk you can do around the property which features different troll games. I don't have kids but if i did this would be a great spot for them. They had a basketball hoop and a cabin full of games, etc. Highly recommend!

Charming little place in the middle of nowhere, which I loved. Incredible quiet except for the roaring river and waterfalls the hotel overlooks. The breakfast was excellent and offered lots of options, and the dinner I had one night was delicious. A great choice!

Short & sweet stay at Fossatún Country Hotel. I really liked my accommodations, perfect for what I needed for a one night’s stay at the hotel. Plus, breakfast was delicious. It is quite a bit far from the town of Borgarnes though, so make sure you pickup your food/snacks before venturing out.

Our favourite stay in Iceland. Charming grounds with in-house "glass house feel" restaurant overlooking a mini waterfall. Having our dinner and breakfast there was extra special.
