Beach Gardens Resort and Marina

I loved my first stay at this property. The view is beautiful, there is complementary continental breakfast, a gym, and even a cold beer and wine store if you need it. And robes! Easy parking, friendly staff, and a nearby beach which I sadly didn’t have time to enjoy. I have already booked a return visit.

Specifically booked here as the property listed as having pool. On site after checking in we were informed that the pool is no longer in use. Unfair

It’s a little outdated and lacking some amenities I’m used to in other hotels (e.g. ironing board and iron in room, room safe, softer sheets, etc.) but the room was perfectly fine, the view was to die for (OMG! The sunsets!), the overall grounds and resort provides a variety of other amenities (amazing restaurant, fully-stocked professional onsite gym, a marina, a beach, a liquor store, a distillery, a wedding venue, I mean oh my gosh it’s pretty fantastic. And all the staff are amazing. Happy and helpful. Plus, the room rates are excellent, so even a few little quibbles I have are not really an issue because this place offers a TON of value for the money.

We stay at this property when my husband is away for work. He loves the old school style gym and is the reason he continues to stay there. Rooms are clean but walls are thin and most rooms have a door between so we could hear our neighbors like they were in our room. Also this visit we had upstairs neighbors who were fighting and just noisy. We could hear every word rhey were syaing. Its nice to have a waterfront view tho. Beds are comfy so All in all i give it a 4. I hope they start their new build soon cause it would also be nice to have a pool.

Accommodation was great. Fabulous view from the balcony. Surrounding areas need work. Confusing entry to the property from the highway.

The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable. Pillows were a little soft though. Check-in was easy, parking was a little tight when the hotel was fairly full

This hotel was amazing. Super clean, friendly staff, and a good bed. Very quiet and peaceful location right on the water. We spent afternoons watching the whales from our balcony. Laundry facilities were exactly $2 for washer and $2 for dryer. The Italian cofee makers were a great touch and it was help yourself to as many pods as you needed. The internet was abit sketchy at times but we were on holidays. We will stay there for sure if we get back to Powell River.

No housekeeping all weekend

The waterfront view was amazing. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The room was a bit outdated but still fine.

Great location. Front desk staff was amazing. Our first room we were given wasn’t clean. Front desk rectified it immediately. Housekeeping didn’t make it to our room 2nd day despite being gone majority of the day. Front desk was great having us stop in to get new coffee supplies. View of the ocean was amazing. Beds comfortable. Will try somewhere else next time but overall would recommend.

It was an older hotel, so that’s the reason for my 4 stars as we have stayed at others for the same price and they’ve been more updated/modern. The room was clean, large, and had a beautiful view! Was a great quiet place to stay while visiting friends in Powell River.

THe staff of this hotel rate a 5+ for helpfuness and attitude as they appear to be struggling to keep the hotel going. The key to our door was rekeyed 3 times and would not work and then we were given another room upstairs. The sink in the bathroom had trouble draining. The carpets appear to be old and are much stained. The site and views of this hotel are amazing and the potential is there but needs much work. The continental breakfast was awesome and well stocked and the restaurant area where this was served has been redone and is lovely with an awesome view.

Despite the room being very clean, this property is very old and in dire need of a refresh. There are permanent stains on the carpet of the type that do not come out even after steaming. Furniture, textiles and overall decor is extremely dated. That been said, the room had a smart TV with all your expected subscription services, clean bathroom and sheets and the view at the marina was nice. Powell River in general feels very safe, so no issues there.

We Checked into Room 215, The TV wasn’t working so We phoned the Front Desk and got moved to Room 216, It was a nicer room, King Size Bed, with a Chestfield . It was a beautiful room Thank You

Quiet room and awesome ocean view. Poor internet connection on the secured network.

Ok for a one night stay, view was excellent, bed was hard and room is dated. Quiet area. Air conditioning is loud, but works. Shower sucked, shower head plugged up. Tv was very small, maby 32 inches, few channels worked………..

The property itself was in a nice quite location tucked away by the ocean front and close driving distance to the city center. Decent and clean room with good view of the ocean. It's an older hotel and the walls/floors are not very insulated so we could hear our loud neighbors next door and could hear people walking and kids running in the room above.

Nice property. Wi Fi in our room was basically non-existent and nobody at the property seemed to care about that.

Very poor soundproofing. Front Gym is very old but newer section in back is a little better, but not much.

This place is holding onto 1979 - its old and tired - nothing works Its got a great view - it must be waiting for a condo developer to buy it..

Poor internet, bathroom light switch and light bulb intermittent, the 2 tv remotes barely worked (very frustrating), air conditioner worked but was consistently to loud…

I loved the balcony and view of the ocean. The air conditioning was very noisy, so it could not be used. The room was hot without it.

Well, having the maintenance man unlock our door and waltz into our room when my wife was changing wasn’t the greatest experience, but the pillows were comfortable and the view was nice.

The entrance was a bit confusing, but the room had a great view! A bit outdated, but for the price it didn’t matter to us. The restaurant staff, in particular the hostess, was quite rude however. She literally huffed right in front of us and made a weird face when we said we didn’t have a reservation. She continued to speak to us very passive aggressively as we waited for her to set up a table, she really went out of her way to let us know how much of an inconvenience we were, while the dining room remained completely EMPTY. I don’t recommend the restaurant - even if you call to request a reservation, this lady is going to tell you they are full - which is a total lie! The dining room remained completely empty for the duration of our meal, I was floored lol.

Check in staff was awesome! Very helpful with directions and places to eat and stuff to do. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Balcony view to ocean was beautiful. End of May and very quiet. Was nice and relaxing stay.

Got an upgrade for no extra charge. The staff is very friendly!

Internet was constantly not working, I called in about it and they offered for me to walk up to the main building to get a lan connection, because of wireless issues that was advertised in the property. Also they have a 4 day min stay for them to provide your room with cleaning, fresh amenities and towels, etc. This is my 5th total stay there over the past 2 years and a bit and they are still acting with an attitude. Ie; credit card hold, signing papers that I have never signed prior to this last stay. I will give them one more chance with me, but as it stands there is no recommendation coming from me and my partner. One lady was the bright spot in the stay, not the owner/manager. She was rude.

We love the views from the rooms at the Beach Gardens. The rooms are spacious and have balconies. Since we last stayed here they have added a continental breakfast which was a delightful surprise. The front desk staff and the breakfast attendant were friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

Checked in early as my son had an unexpected surgery . The lady at the front desk was amazing arranged a room to be cleaned and ready for when I picked him up at the hospital , this was an unexpected stay and excellent service.

When we arrived the lady at reception was quite rude we asked if we could get the room a little earlier and she was not very nice in her responce

Stayed 14 days (over $4G) and was very disappointed with our experience. Customer service was poor. Far from a 'resort'. It is rundown, no working pool, all faucets leaked, did not receive advertised on-site continental breakfast. When pressed, they grudgingly provided breakfast coupons to their sister hotel (10 mins drive) and the breakfast was disappointing. No choice in items, insisted that guest get random items as they were not allowed to specify what type of fruit, flavor of yogurt or whether you get a pastry/muffin, even though there was obviously available items to choose from. Housekeeping was minimal at best. And a couple of times, they didn't even make the bed as they claimed a personal item was left on it (one time a scrunchie was found in the bed so they stopped making the bed, but had obviously moved the scrunchie to the top of the bed. So they can touch it, but decided to leave it on the bed and not finish making the bed/changing the sheets instead of moving it to the bed table! Another time, there was a small personal throw at the foot of the bed, so they didn't touch the bed.) When I asked for extra towels, they wrote a note that they ran out, but later, I was able to get extra towels at the front desk. When we called the GM to voice our concerns, we got excuses and a basically "don't care, your problem" attitude. No solutions, nothing to compensate for the lack of pool & inconvenience of driving to a lackluster breakfast. Will not be staying here again.

Great location away from the town Center. Great views from your room and restaurant. The room was comfortable and clean but the buildings themselves were in need of an upgrade. Excellent outdoor dining.

Older property, but clean and functional. Great location to explore the area. Central to town and ferries. Looks like they are doing a development project and may be replaced with a modern resort.

An easy find between the communities with dining and services close.

The entry from the street is difficult to navigate at night because some roads and laneways have been closed, and the route from the street through a huge sloped parking lot is not well marked. The resort sits at the bottom of a hill, and it's a long uphill walk to the street. Otherwise, no complaints. Staff is friendly and helpful; the place is clean and modern. I've stayed here twice in 2023 and a couple of times many years ago. It's my hotel of choice in Powell River.

Great little place with amazing ocean front views. Good restaurant. Breakfast was not very elaborate but sufficient.

Nice room with beautiful view from balcony. Was very upset that restaurant was closed as it is a 5 km walk to town to eat.The reason we booked so far out of town was that we could eat there. Having to uber to town to eat was a pain. We wanted to have a drink with dinner and not drive.

The room was okay, but expensive for what it is. The view was outstanding… oceanfront was greatly appreciated. The cost was to include a continental breakfast. 2 problems. The breakfast was at another hotel 4km away and day 2 there was none provided because of staffing. When we checked out, no one mentioned this, so we drove 4km for nothing.

Great view, good room value, great restaurant on site

Stayed one night at this property and it was fine. Rooms were outdated but comfortable. Bed and pillows were fine. Room could have used a chair and screens on the windows. The view from our second floor room was the star. Skip the restaurant. Other than the view it lacks atmosphere. Wait staff were friendly. Kitchen was unwilling to accommodate a food allergy. Food was ok. Be sure to visit the Salish Distillery on the adjacent property. Their products were great. The tastings were fun with a great charcuterie option.

Great views. Friendly staff. Great amenities. Only one restaurant available for dining below hotel and they were hosting an event inside when we arrived. No signs anywhere about an event. We were turn away as it was busy so we asked to sit outside since it was empty just to enjoy the view but they decline too. We said we wouldn’t need a menu or drinks or need any service. Just sitting outside the patio - still declined.

The only negative was the evening meal. The batter in my fish was uncooked adjacent to the fish and the fish itself was cool inside. My wife had the salmon special which was raw inside and had to go back to the kitchen to be cooked.

Just a lovely spot. Staff were friendly, the rooms were clean with wonderful views, and the breakfast restaurant had a great continental.
