This is a hidden gem. Probably my top 3 hotels I’ve ever visited. Classic, eclectic, vintage with modern convenience. The breakfast was perfect, staff included. Pool, sauna, drink bar and even the shampoo and shower gel are among the top in my list. We walked down to the river where my kids explored for 2 hours. I love this place.

This has been a disappointing stay. The reception at the desk was unfriendly and terse. The hot jacuzzi tub was tepid and when I asked at reception to turn the temperature up I was told no and a story about their humidity control system. A hot tub should be hot. The room is nice but otherwise I’d recommend trying another inn in Woodstock. Disappointing.

Play room had fun basketball challenge and arcade games. Also had a playroom for little ones. Restaurant was only open in the evenings Thursday through Sunday. Our room looked out to the grass and river. It would be fun in the summer.

Came in for Dartmouth Graduation and found 506 to be the perfect location for us. The grounds were beautiful and we utilized the pool, sauna and hot tub. Everything was very clean and the atmosphere of your lounge/restaurant was incredibly inviting. We had dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. Everyone from the front desk to those keeping it spotless were so polite and friendly. We were traveling with someone in a wheelchair and it was totally accessible. Thank you for making our weekend even better.

This property was dramatically better than the photos suggested. The breakfast, included, was fantastic while the pictures on the site were understated. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. The property itself, due to its numerous rooms for use including the library (game room), pool and hot tub and sauna (super clean) and bistro / bar (used for breakfast, cocktails and dinner) was easy to spread out into and relax. We loved this property.

A lovely inn, clean, well appointed in the hotel and room, hot and cold buffet breakfast , game room and pool. Had a delicious dinner at the bistro. Proximity to town- less than 5 minutes. Very glad we came for a 2 night getaway.

This hotel offered nicely furnished rooms with exceptional and cozy seating areas around the hotel with quaint fireplaces , game rooms, bistro bar and pool. Also outdoor fire pits with s’mores. Will stay again. Only downside is the taxes and fees

Great property with lots of nice extras- buffet breakfast, heated towel rack, library with pool table, filtered water and bottles for your room. Large room with sitting area. Our room safe did not work despite the staff trying hard to repair which was a bit of a pain as it was very cold and we had to keep our electronics in the car despite being assured no one would enter our room- we were given no other option. Hot tub could definitely be hotter but the sauna was great after a cold day on the slopes. We will be back, staff was fantastic and friendly.

We would not stay at this hotel again. Starting with the bed sheets being dirty. Their is no housekeeping after 2 pm. I had to walk to the reception twice to get it myself. Twice because the second set was dirty too, and there was no phone in the room.There was not even an apology or any kind of courtesy. They hotel claims to be a 4 star, i doubt that now. Breakfast had very poor options. Nothing tasty. The only nice thing about this hotel is the decor.

What a lovely quiet place - great location, spotless well furnished rooms, comfy beds. Beautiful pool/sauna/hot tub area with nice outdoor vista. We didn't eat onsite but had cocktails at the bar, which were expertly made and delicious. And of course in the beautiful surroundings of Woodstock!

This hotel is a nice place we always go to when we are in Vermont for a weekend getaway. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and are always clean and the best part is the pool,the large hot tub and the steam room. Breakfast is perfect

We were disappointed in our room since the photos showed a bright large room and advertised that every room had a view of the river - we did not on the ground floor. We felt like we were in a basement with a dark room. As far as cleanliness there was a half full water bottle under the lamp table and the mattress box spring cover was only partially on. Otherwise it was clean. The towels were fluffy and very white as were the bed linens. Use of the work out room revealed a very squeaky elliptical machine. Pool and hot tub were clean and nice. Breakfast was tasty and well prepared.

Stream out back Husband caught a fish. Inside hotel rooms were pleasant had small balcony facing river. Seating in room beds were comfortable. Hotel interior was lovely and breakfast areas was beautiful. Breakfast was great. Wood stay again Did not like the outside farmhouse unit for family sized rooms was detached from main hotel had 3 flights of stairs no elevator, had to be moved to inside main hotel.

It’s close to, but far enough away from busy Woodstock VT. About a 10 min drive. The property is beautiful, well kept. Lots of areas to walk or hang out by the river. The room was spacious and comfortable! Great shower!!! We ate in the dining room the 2nd night and we’re very happy with our meals! A couple good places close by for pizza or fried clams/fries and ice cream. Lots of shops/cafes in Woodstock itself. King Arthur baking company only 30 mins north. Definitely will return. (Hopefully to better weather- thunderstorms)

Hotel was very nicely maintained with lots of amenities - pool, sauna, hot tub. Also like the library with pool table, board games, and books. Breakfast was well done and appreciated hot cocoa and tea in the afternoon with home made cookies. Would definitely stay again if I could get a firmer mattress.

Property was nice; room had some wear and tear...lower level a distinct odor of chlorine (pool); couldn't get our safe fixed while we were there and we were a bit put off by no phones in the rooms..other than that very nice... the paying extra for amenities, why not just include it in the room rate? The hot items (breakfast) could have been warmer!

We had a wonderful weekend away here! The Inn is beautiful, charming/well decorated, has fabulous amenities (hot tub, pool, sauna, game room with arcades, lovely library, outdoor firepit, etc.) stunning views of the river, comfortable rooms and includes an incredible complementary breakfast. Hands down one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had. Staff was friendly and went out of our way to make sure we had everything we needed. It's only a quick 3 minute drive to town center, and 506 On The River is a perfect escape in itself, a hidden gem. From complementary smores by the fire at night to the relaxing sauna or a drink at the bar, this is the perfect spot for families or couples. We will definitely be back!

The property and room was nice, however the customer service is extremely poor. I was not welcomed, nor asked how my stay was. Male at the front desk lacked acknowledge, and honestly just common curiosity. The location is beautiful and convenient, yet if you appreciate good customer service, I recommend finding another lodging.

The hotel and property were very nice. All the staff, except one lovely woman who worked the breakfast, was unfriendly and uncooperative. The gentleman at the front desk to check us in and we had the misfortune to speak another time, barely made eye contact. I travel a lot, and I have never been to a place with such unfriendly staff. Not a hello or good morning from any of them. It was uncomfortable. While the property was nice, I probably would not stay there again.

The property itself is nice and has a great outdoor area for kids and adults alike. The indoor pool was beautiful and my kids loved it. The service at this, however, leaves much to be desired. Check in was a joke with a man basically mumbling over a sucker in his mouth and just threw the keys at me over the counter. When I started to ask questions about the property he pointed to a piece of paper and said “it’s all written on there” and walked away. So rude. Same goes for breakfast buffet staff. Rude. I was shocked as I’ve never been treated like an annoyance just to check in or come to a self serve buffet. Anyway.. great property but staff need a lesson in customer service and just general attitude adjustment.

The customer experience is not only about a beautiful property but also about how you treat your customers. It’s not about what happens, rather how you handle the situation. A bad situation handled well, will result in a favourable outcome. Our situation should have been handled as follows “we apologize for the miscommunication on our end and of course we will give you the 30 minutes you need to get ready for check-out”. Instead we were talked to and treated very rudely by your staff and front desk manager, the first demanding we vacate within 10 minutes and the other saying that what had been agreed to the evening prior at check-in didn’t matter because the message wasn’t left for them by their own staff. The way this situation was handled has left such an unfavourable impression on us, your paying guests.

Pros: Beautiful location by the river. Well equipped rooms. Cons: Unwalkable from Woodstock. Some staff members came across as frosty and we felt an inconvenience to them. One male member of staff at check-in came across as completely unwelcoming, bordering on hostile. Had a real attitude problem that needs addressing. If we hadn't already pre-paid, we would have gone elsewhere!

beautiful setting on river. Pool, sauna and hot tub are fantastic. Hotel staff were terrific. Breakfast was excellent, a full meal each morning. It's set outside of town a few miles, so you basically have to drive to get other restaurants/bars/shopping but that also makes for a quieter vibe.

Property is beautiful, great pool and hot tub area and staff were accommodating. We would go back. The only negative is they offer a country breakfast with your stay, many items including the cereal, granola and breads and pastries were stale. Probably left over from their weekend crowd. We stayed on a Monday/Tuesday and not a lot of guests there. The Homefries potatoes were Luke warm, and definately not fresh. The staff person at breakfast was nice but the food was disappointing. They also did not give us fresh towels or come to our room to freshen up by housekeeping. 8/10
