Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham San Angelo

I arrived and they had a king standard room, not the handicap room with roll in shower that i reserved. It was upstais and their elevator was not working so there was no way i could get up there. I turned around and drove 4 hours to get home at 11:30 PM

Elevator didn't work and once I made it to room it was horrible and smelled. The bed was like a rock. I went and stayed in my car.

Elevator not working and has been down for long time. This is unacceptable.

Fix your elevator. Twice it would not go up from floor 1 and we had to take the stairs to floor 3.

Room was clean and the mattress/pillows were very sleep-inducing! BUT, the shower tub was slippery and there were NO GRAB BARS! We know most of your guests are young and nimble but for we 80 year olds it was a fearful proposition. We wound up putting a towel in the tub to gain some traction. Oh, and the elevator was NOISEY, not safe feeling.

I checked in with bags and my work equipment, handed my key cards, THRN told the elevators were not working and there were no rooms on the first floor.

We arrived Wednesday evening and on arrival we were informed that the elevator was broken and the only available rooms were on the 3rd floor. We didn't have the money to leave and go somewhere else ( I had knee surgery so this was also a BIG deal. So for 4 days anytime we wanted anything, we had to go down three flights of stairs. This hotel also only has one ice machine, which was also downstairs. The only water option they had was water fountains next to the ice machine. I went down to do a load of Landry on Saturday and those too were broken. Two HUGE things were broken. I was already bummed out about the loud clicking noise coming from the vent in our bathroom that NEVER stopped. The carpet had tacks sticking up where it connects to the hard wood floor so we had a towel covering it the entire time as well. When I confronted the manager I was offered $50!!! WHAT?? I was told that they didn't notify people because they would cancel their reservation and they needed money to keep it running. I was told everything is happening at once, things falling apart, and they can't give me my money back because then they would have to do that to everyone else that complained and they have a business to run. I am disgusted by there resolution. I have gotten corporate involved, so we will see.

Elevator was broken

Hallway desperately needed vacuumed, stayed overnight and it was still dirty the next morning,Elevator was broken apparently for weeks now according to other reviews they gave me a bottom floor , furniture is beat up , carpet desperately needs replaced , beds and pillow are hard , I wouldn’t say the place is super dirty they clean with what they have ,but at some point cleaning is not enough stuff needs replaced,The towels were nice and flufffy and they have cute shampoos and soap.Breakfast was ok nothing was missing breakfast area was clean. Overall it’s ok they try with what they have.

Couldn't check in early due to no clean rooms availabile so when we finally checked in were expecting a clean room. It was horrible! Dead bugs and food on the counters,hair in shower and in the bedding as well as stains on the sheets. The room looked old,run down and dirty. Will never stay here again. Save your money and stay at a nicer hotel.

So clean!

I walked around on carpet barefoot that evening and the next morning in shower black stuff came off my feet. Also I noticed the headboards had greasy looking residue from people heads resting on it so I would say the rooms need a good cleaning!

Overall the room felt not clean for some reason. There were cobwebs and the dishes provided had grease/oil on them. Room above me stomped around at night and at 4:30am to 5:30am each of the 3 mornings I was there. If I ever have to go back to San Angelo I wouldn’t stay there again. Not sure how it got rated an 8 by guests?

There was poop on the toilet seat and a big bloody booger stuck to the shower wall right at eye level.

Cleanliness of hotel and room. Staff was nice and greeted me.

The front desk staff were friendly. The room was unclean. The carpet looked as though it hadn’t been vacuumed. There was trash already in the bathroom trash bin. There was hair in the shower, a stray hair in one of the bath towels. Stains on the top cover of the bed. Stains on the shower curtain. Overall it was an uncomfortable stay, and for a little over $300, it’s disappointing.

The property doesn’t look like the pictures. There was hair in the shower and the room could have been cleaner. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

The hotel is clean and well-managed, but it is showing its age a bit. There was no stopper in the bathroom lavatory. The shower water pressure was a bit low. Only other issue: no wash cloth! Just bath towels and a hand towel and a bath mat. The morning breakfast service was excellent and well-managed. We will stay at the Hawthorn Suites again. It's a good value for the rate.

Super nice rooms. Had a mini kichen in ours with a sink and 2 burner cooktop built in and a full size fridge. Comfy beds. Clean lobby

The staff were kind and helpful. It’s a quiet area. The rooms were clean and spacious.

All was great in the room except the bed. The beds sagged REALLY Bad in the center of the mattress.

The a/c in the room was rickety (loud) but the room stayed cool. Annoying to fall asleep to, but ultimately for the money this was a good value stay.

Had a 1st floor room. Elevator is still out at check-in. Kind of wish the window thick curtains actually closed so people cant snoop. Otherwise nothing I could complain about. Place was great to stay at. Surrounded by a lot of food, gas, grocery, etc that you could need.

Bathroom floor had footprints when we arrived. Room had odor when first entered. TV was so small, couldn’t view from bed.

Room right next to the stairwell and we could hear every person stomping their feet up and down all night and morning. It was awful. Not much sleep.

The room was clean except for a spot in the carpet that was funky feeling. It was a large room but more of a feel of an efficiency apartment. I wasn't able to hear any noise in the hallway from TV's or people speaking or in the room except the guy snoring very loudly next door and the kitchen staff at 1 am when they started to prepare breakfast because my room shared a wall with the kitchen. I was disappointed that there was no healthy alternatives for any with allergies at breakfast.

It was a good stay other than the mattresses were extremely hard. Wouldn’t stay again for that reason.

When we checked in minutes before the check in time, stating that check in was at three when we were there about five minutes till. There was a car wash across the street that was quite loud. And construction in the area

The hotel itself is such a neat little hotel. It was clean, and the staff at the front was very friendly! Melissa, behind the counter, gave me some good recommendations of places I should go to while I was on my visit. The hotel itself is conveniently located near a lot of shops and major stores. It was easy to find, and I felt very comfortable.

The staff was great.

Rooms are OK, but carpet is wearing out and no hand soap provided in the rooms. A discount was available for those visiting at the Rio Concho like I was. Front desk staff did not know how to apply the discount ("the computer will not let us") so I paid more for the room than I should have. Dollar for dollar, you can get a better value at another hotels another 5 minute drive away. I won't stay there again.

I had to leave early because of a family emergency And this hotel would not refund me. Would not recommend this place to anyone

Overall it was a good stay. Good price for what you get. Front desk didn’t tell us the elevator was out at check in. Found out when we headed to our room. Luckily we don’t mind stairs. Our key cards quit working the second day and had to get those redone. Beds were just okay. Definitely could use a pillow update. But staff was friendly. Everyone we saw greeted us. The lady in charge of breakfast was super friendly and kind. Good location. Overall it was a good stay.

The hotel is located in a very comfortable and convenient area. The staff was great, especially Cassidy. She was very friendly and give us good recommendations for dinning at The Grill. Great place to have a good meal and great drinks. We highly recommend this hotel.

The breakfast lady was very helpful and friendly. We have stayed there before and decided to stop in again because we loved her.
