Stayed 7 nights

The beds were located in a loft accessible by a ladder that was too steep for my wife and I (we are both seniors). We spent one night on the sofa bed (very uncomfortable) and met with “Manager” to explain we would be checking out as the accommodations were unacceptable. She agreed stating that this particular cottage should be noted as not senior friendly (this comment was reinforced by the owner’s father, who can to repair two electrical outlets that were non functioning when we checked in). I requested a partial refund and the Manager said she would notify the owner. Additionally, when I requested the wifi password, I was told that the wifi did not reach that particular cottage. After a follow up email and telephone call (neither garnered a response), it is my recommendation that this “resort” be removed from any travel sites that may promote this destination.

Cabin 4 does not reflect well on this property. It sits behind a parking lot, tucked into the woods. It is old, run down and quite frankly, smells musty, mouldy and of septic backup in the bathroom. The stairs to the loft are treacherous to the degree that we did not use the loft beds. These stairs also block access into the bathroom. There was exposed wiring and the smoke detector was not installed or functional. Nothing seemed to work properly and we stopped asking for things that were missing. All of the contents seemed like leftovers from other cottages. Mismatched silverware, chipped dishes and a confusing stove. This cabin is grossly overpriced. The staff tried hard to please us and the property location is beautiful. We switched to a different cabin for 2 nights (for extra $). It was nearly perfect.

We stayed one night and the cottage was so clean! Even the outside table and chairs were super clean! The beds are comfortable.

This was a disaster. We had booked for two nights. The “cabin” we were assigned appeared to have been a previously abandoned cabin in the woods. The beds were in a loft that had a rickety ladder for access. My wife and I are in our seventies and I could not imagine climbing up and down that ladder 3-4 times a night. When we complained we were told we could use the fold out bed. We told them we were not interested in a fold out bed in a run down dirty old cabin. We told them we were leaving as we did not feel safe and requested a refund which was denied. Be very careful renting here and shame on Hotels. com for promoting this facility.

Good view of the lake with a beautiful deck. Room and washroom needs a lot of improvement but worth the money.
