Great location and convenient for shopping (including alcohol) and varied local dining options and easy access to highways for day trips. The Novotel had good wifi (ie stable), good bed and good shower - so the key items were ticked off. Only one minor issue was enforced valet parking at $25 per night. We accepted that for the first night but then used the top floor of the CBD multi-level car park one block up the road at $5.50 per night (and it was safe and quiet and easy to get to). Otherwise, our stay was great; our ocean-facing room had a really pleasant view and the local cultural diversity festival held on the tiered front lawns of the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Very happy to go back in the future - that region of northern Tassie is fantastic for day tripping and site seeing; loved Sheffield's murals and the beaches and little cafes in Port Sorell, Burnie, Wynyard and surrounds.

Fantastic clean room and comfortable. Valet parking worth paying for as very efficiently done. On site restaurant is great but in room dining from same restaurant disappointing. Couldn’t contact restaurant via phone, had to scan QR code which didn’t allow any alterations. Meal didn’t arrive when it was meant to so had to go to restaurant in person. Meal finally arrived double the time it said it would take and 2 main courses with only 1 set of cutlery. Very frustrating and not good enough!

New clean modern , great rooms especially the view over the harbour entrance . Staff are really friendly , off-site parking one block from Novotel is the cheapest and and convenient . I’m extending by staying one more week , really a great hotel in a good location!

The parking situation at this hotel is the biggest let down, it is a first come first serve basis and they only have 40 spots, they then give you directions to the council car park where you have to pay up to $20 extra per night for parking. The location of the hotel is amazing, so close to the waterfront and the new park across the street is so great for kids. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were large and well appointed.,

Having parking (that wasn’t valet service) off site was not very convenient. Stay was mostly good however if they could turn off the annoying music in the lifts and gym, that would be great.

Our king room was wonderful, spacious and very spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern and large and very very fresh and clean. Staff were extremely professional, friendly and very obliging, including parking our car beautifully then retrieving it when we checked out. Valet parking was wonderful. Thankyou. Breakfast was delicious and very comprehensive, providing an excellent meal for the day and for our 4 hour car trip ahead, to the Derwent Valley.

The restaurant, convenience and staff were great. Parking was an added expense. There is a club across the road that plays very loud music and can be heard throughout the rooms especially on 4th floor. The rooms are not cleaned throughly if you stay for a significant duration.

Night club across the road operates to 3:30am so don’t expect any sleep!! Very very loud. Totally ruined our stay here. Went down and spoke to staff at 3am and was told this was the normal. Wouldn’t recommend.

Sehr schöne und ruhige Zimmer, trotz Straßenseite. Alles war neu und sauber. Frühstücksbuffet war umfangreich und lecker. Wir haben leider irgendwie nicht rausbekommen, wie die Klimaanlage funktioniert (mal ging sie, mal nicht), daher war es teilweise etwas kalt nachts im Juli, aber war bei nur 2 Nächten nicht allzu schlimm.

Hallo, Eigentlich hat uns das Hotel, insbesondere das Zimmer sehr gut gefallen. Der Ausblick auf den Ozean war super! Leider ging in unserem Zimmer die Klimaanlage nicht und hat darüber hinaus auch noch die ganze nach geblinkt, was sehr nervig war.

I am writing to formally request a refund of $187 for a charge incorrectly applied to our stay as a “no-show.” We booked two rooms for our stay—one for three people and another for two. However, during check-in, only one room was processed, and all five of us were checked into that single room. We were physically present at the hotel, and the issue only arose due to your team’s failure to check in both rooms correctly. Despite multiple requests for clarification during our stay, we were only made aware of the “no-show” charge upon reviewing our bill. This charge was apparently due to my partner not signing in—however, we had made it clear at the time of booking that the reservation was for two rooms, and we were all present at the property. I kindly request a full refund of the $187 as we were at the hotel and the error was due to a mistake in your check-in process, not ours. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Our king room was wonderful, spacious and very spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern and large and very very fresh and clean. This was a family trip and we arrived the hotel to give everyone a little rest before our evening program. I had some sick kids needing close attention on this trip. The rooms were clean and staff friendly. Our ooms were interconnected but the doors were not unlocked at check in. I called the front desk 5 different times and managed to get a response once with a promise that someone will be sent to unlock them. I waited for more than an hour without luck. I had to hunt for room cleaners along the corridors to open the doors without success as well. Eventually I had to walk down to the front desk again (as they wouldn't pick my calls) before someone was sent to deal with the doors. Really difficult, unenjoyable and wasted evening as I couldn't get the rest we checked in to get.

Fantastic location being very central with a terrific view of the mouth of the river and the ships coming and going. Rooms are very spacious and modern along with the outside grounds which are interesting and very well cared for. Staff are great, friendly and helpful. The only issue I could see was over night parking. There are options but there seems to be a capacity problem when the hotel is full.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay, we added breakfast for our 2nd morning. We called before our trip to ask about coeliac options, we were told that there are gluten-free options. Sadly, there was nothing marked as gluten free and there was nothing available (we asked 2 staff). We did pre-pay for 4 breakfasts so perhaps a refund is on our way.

Good all around. Everything was as expected. The only thing to complain about was the quality of the breakfast. Arrived at around 9am, and everything was "stale". Bread didn't seem fresh. Hot food was just luke warm. Not much in terms of choice, and the taste was rather bland.

Room service unfortunately then took nearly an hour. Despite booking for 3 guests there were only 2 towels and 2 face washers, 2 mugs etc…
