Overall this is a very run down property externally / photos are decieving . When showering water leaked out onto bathroom floor so stood on wet mat.The kitchette area was tiny just outside the bathroom. Room looked like it wasfreshly painted but rushed with paint on the bathroom windows and marks on the walls. It was very disappointing as l went by the reviews and ended up cancelling the next room booked at this property and rebooked elsewhere.

Somewhat thin walls, I could hear next door's kids shouting at 6am. The parking bays do not match with the front doors of the rooms, leading to people parking in other's designated spots. The signs need to be clearer.

Don’t let the exterior fool you. The rooms are of a good size, beds are comfortable, bathrooms new, staff very friendly and it’s in the perfect location. Will definitely stay again

Suited to what we needed, shame no pool. Bed comfy, shower way too small! Tv great and quiet area with nice river frontage. Building very old an upgrade would be better and worth the charged rate. Must be a high crime area due to windows and doors pretty badly patched up and missing important lock features. A night or two is ok. I wouldn’t recommend family friendly, very close to water and no fencing.

Parking was great and easy to use. The room was very spacious, we loved the lounge area. George was very kind and accommodating when we had a suddenly last minute change. I would highly recommend staying here

Disgusting smell in bathroom of a night, coming from the drains. Had to keep door shut to try and stop smell coming into the bedroom, not much luck with that! Also unable to lock door, had to leave it unlocked to go out and then sleep. Manager came next morning to fix it. No handle on door to outside area, had to make sure it didn't slam, otherwise would have been locked out. Whole motel needs a facelift, very shabby looking! Very expensive for what it is.

The shower leaked onto the floor of the bathroom and then into the hallway. The toilet gurgled and nearly overflowed each time it was flushed and the shower head dripped most of the night.

Our fourth stay. Disappointed this time. Leaking shower over bathroom floor, toilet bowl lifted off floor, biscuits on first night but none on next two days. Wet towels not replaced. Had to use bath mat to wipe up wet floor but never replaced. Very quiet. Pub over bridge does good deals at night.

The door lock on the room I was allocated was very flimsy; with no option of a back up lock or additional security measure. Had someone wanted to, the door could easily have been kicked in. The door lock on the balcony door was also flimsy, albeit this door had a doorchain as a back up locking option. There was also a very strong musty odour throughout the room.

The hotel was very well located, with a really good porch or outdoor seating area overlooking the river. It was quiet and restful, but close to shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay. The building is dated, but the rooms and bathrooms have been updated, and it has all you need.

Great position, great outlook. Building getting older, but bathroom has been updated. AC good and bed comfortable Small kitchen space a facility, buta short walk across the bridge to a great hotel and other eating options. Very peaceful, close to beaches.

We were pleasantly surprised with our family room, heaps of space, lovely view of the river and very soft and comfortable beds! We even had complimentary bottles of refrigerated water ☺️ . We were only stopping over for one night on a road trip but the time we spent there was very relaxing and comfortable 👍😁.

We received the incorrect room! Staff say it was WOT IFs problem but after contacting WOTIF they say that it was correct and Motel should accommodate our booking. Nothing happened. Staff member was rude and dismissed my booking reservation. No phone reception in room, there was WIFI but not very strong. It was close to restaurants and it was nice to be able to hear waves crashing in the still of night.

This was a cheap motel booked last minute and was amazing. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Staff was very accommodating and you can check in after hours. Highly recommend

We arrived very late, the keys were left in a safe. We were provided a code for access. When the key card didn't work i had to call the owners and he was down in 5 minutes to assist and rectify the issue.

The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. The whole place needs some TLC, which usually doesn’t bother me if the room is OK. However, standing in reception on arrival, being ignored, while a craggy old man in his boxers deals with other business. Put some pants on for F sake!

Hibiscus Lakeside Motel was a nice stopover for our holiday travel. The rooms were comfortable, practical and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Shops and parks not far away and the location was relatively quiet.

We drive from Melbourne to Gold Coast and back several times a year and Hibiscus, with its riverside location, beautiful views, clean, spacious rooms and proximity to cute town and dining choices is our favourite stop over. Now we have discovered they also have a Tesla charger and it’s totally sealed the deal. Thank you for lovely stop over.

Overnight stopover on the road from Melbourne to Gold Coast. Really appreciated the lovely lake view. Bed was comfortable and appreciated the big refillable packs of toiletries instead of the silly disposable bottles. Lovely location on the walking path around lake.
