The hotel doesn’t offer shuttle from the airport; and because the hotel is so close the orange taxis didn’t want the fare. But the "unofficial" drivers outside Door 4 were happy to help. We paid $10 USA cash. The hotel does offer a free shuttle back to the airport. But actually it is again private cars. We asked to be delivered to our nearby rental car place instead and they obliged. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the traffic and airplane noise at night. Otherwise it is a sweet little boutique hotel staffed with nice people.

Very convenient to airport with free hourly shuttle. It is an 8 minute drive to the airport. Outdoor pool is appealing and also good breakfast. Recomended.

It was clean and very close to the airport. The breakfast was good and the service there at the restaurant was excellent. Kind of weird that they offer a shuttle, but only to the airport and not from the airport to their hotel. The older gentleman that check us in the first night was very helpful, kind and professional. The younger man that checked us out in the morning was not friendly at all. We stayed here a second time ( the night before we flew home) an older woman checked us in and she was also not very friendly. If you need a place to stay close to the airport, I would recommend this place, but the front desk service is hit or miss

It is noisy, but of course, perfectly understandable as it is literally across the road from the airport runway. The negatives for this very nice little hotel are simply due to its convenient location near the airport, so no, there really isn’t anything to walk to or see near it. The property is pretty, has a nice pool and looks great at night. Finding some drinks to enjoy around the pool during the day is a challenge though. BYOB. And they have a very nice dog!

Pros - conveniently close to airport Cheap and cheerful for one night on arrival Cons - shuttle service description misleading they only offer shuttle from hotel to airport so we had to pay for taxi transfer to hotel initially. Note offer hotels in close proximity did seem to provide full transfers back and forth. Very noisy with low flying planes but then this was only to fe expected.

We were a late checkin at Hotel Mango & they were so accommodating. The kitchen was already closed so they pointed us to a restaurant within walking distance. Then when we returned, they allowed us to swim & turned on the music & lights for us! Will definitely be back there!

Upon arrival and getting into the room there was a spider hanging from the lamp next to the bed. I checked in after midnight due to flight delay with my baby and that was not the first thing I needed to see. When I let the clerk at the front desk know, he just came into the room and pretty much grabbed the spider with his hand and knocked it off the lamp like it wasn't a big deal. Being that I was only crashing for the night and was exhausted, I didn't insist on another room. I was literally there for 8 hours. Also, they made a huge deal because I had another minor with me on the trip (under 18), when checking out they insisted we pay for an extra person. They behaved as if they were money hungry and if it wasn't that there is a gate that they have to unlock for you to leave, we just paid the $18 extra for nothing! Literally there for 8 hours. I would not recommend!

Room with double beds was really tiny. Not enough room to move with luggage around. We had a very early morning flight. No provisions for a take away breakfast except coffee and cookies in the lobby. Shower was really good with good water pressure. Raphaela at Front Desk was very helpful.

The main draw of this hotel is that it is VERY close to the airport. If you dont like hearing the sound of airplanes taking off, you will not like it here! However I felt it kind of amusing and adventurous being right under the planes. When i came in by myself, late at night, I didnt like the fact that my room's door had only a doornob lock on it. It needs to have some kind of extra security bolt on it. However, the next morning when I saw how lovely the back garden, pool, and restaurant area are, I felt reassured and very safe. The staff is excellent and will attend to your needs, for intance, arranging cab rides into the city and translating for you to the driver, in case you dont speak Spanish. Everyone, including the airport shuttle drivers associated with the hotel, were very nice and friendly. The pool is open only limited hours, so I wasnt able to use it, but I honestly LOVED the restaurant (open to the back garden) for both the breakfast and dinner food they have. I only gave four stars because the street in front of the hotel is a busy one, and the airplane noise, but again, if you wanna stay near the airport, that's what you get. I recommend it.

The location is very convenient to the airport, which is why we stayed here. The overall footprint is small, but they’ve made good use of the space with a small pool, lounging area and restaurant. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the room faced the pool area where the lights stayed on until late in the night and the window did not have blackout curtains. But the thing that made this stay unenjoyable was the noise from outside the hotel property. There must be a club nearby that played loud music until 2am. The walls are thin so we heard every beat. And when you have to get up at 4am to make your flight, it’s a less than ideal experience.

The person who works at the desk at night was the most unhelpful desk agent I have ever encountered. I ordered Uber Eats and requested utensils with my order. Of course they didn't include that. So I asked the guy at the front desk (after 10 PM) if I could have utensils so I could eat my meal as there is a restaurant onsite. He refused. I couldn't eat my meal. Starving the entire night. I have stayed here multiple times before, but never again.

My biggest issue: rooms only have a push button door lock. No chain. A man tried coming into our room at 4am. My mom and I were already awake and I had put my suitcase on the floor by the door because I knew it wasn’t secure. Turns out it was the staff member and they had apologized, but VERY SCARY AND SKETCHY. Why was the male staff trying to come into the room when I was sleeping without knocking??? No water or ice available at all when restaurant is closed (only certain hours). Busy road and airplanes incredibly loud. Firm beds. Very limited parking. Small fancy breakfast. *how is this place listed as a customer favorite??*

Great 1-night stay before heading to Arenal. Close to airport (5 min drive). Check in was smooth, room was comfortable. Service was amazing - Raffaella who checked me in was gentle and kind and Carlos who prepared my breakfast was very attentive. It was a good stay to recover from a long flight before my onward journey. Only regret isn’t being able to enjoy the pool as it was raining!

My friends and i had a miscommunication and i showed up 24 hours before them. Im a middle aged woman. Didnt know what to do. Found this on hotels.com. i loved it! Everything was was clean and well maintained, the staff were super nice and helpful. The food was good at their restaurant and next door. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely stay there again.
My friends and i had a miscommunication and i showed up 24 hours before them. Im a middle aged woman. Didnt know what to do. Found this on hotels.com. i loved it! Everything was was clean and well maintained, the staff were super nice and helpful. The food was good at their restaurant and next door. I couldn't be happier. I would definitely stay there again.

Great boutique hotel by the airport. Beautiful space. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Nice breakfast. Great staff. Lovely pool. So convenient for in and out of SJO. Only downside is that at the airport the taxis don’t want to take you there bc it’s so close. It should cost $4 US according to the hotel and I have gotten it for less when I came in at midnight and the taxi driver was on his way home for the night. This time the minimum was $10 US and one guy wanted to charge me $30 US! Also airport and traffic noise are to be expected where it is. Will stay there every time I’m on the area.

Good free shuttle to hotel every hour. Nice pool too. Choice of breakfast menu. Yes you can hear the planes but didnt bother me. Bed was comfy. Annoying no key to open gaye and have yo wait from someone from reception seeing you - ok but not when raining and waiting.

The main draw of this hotel is that it is VERY close to the airport. If you dont like hearing the sound of airplanes taking off, you will not like it here! However I felt it kind of amusing and adventurous being right under the planes. When i came in by myself, late at night, I didnt like the fact that my room's door had only a doornob lock on it. It needs to have some kind of extra security bolt on it. However, the next morning when I saw how lovely the back garden, pool, and restaurant area are, I felt reassured and very safe. The staff is excellent and will attend to your needs, for intance, arranging cab rides into the city and translating for you to the driver, in case you dont speak Spanish. Everyone, including the airport shuttle drivers associated with the hotel, were very nice and friendly. The pool is open only limited hours, so I wasnt able to use it, but I honestly LOVED the restaurant (open to the back garden) for both the breakfast and dinner food they have. I only gave four stars because the street in front of the hotel is a busy one, and the airplane noise, but again, if you wanna stay near the airport, that's what you get. I recommend it.

This is a great place to start or finish your trip to Costa Rica. It is very close to the airport (500m). Staff is helpful and the room and facility are very clean. The bed was a little thin and firm, but not that bad. The breakfast was great and the server extremely polite and accomodating. I left my phone charger and they held it for me to pick up. For negatives, it is quite noisy on the street facing rooms. You are right next to the freeway and the airport. There is a wall that blocks some of the noise, but you will hear jake brakes and traffic noise all night. I suggest you request a room facing the pool. There is not much to do or see in the immediate area (walking distance). Also, getting into the facility is a bit dicey, as you have to turn into oncoming traffic, then honk your horn to open the gate.

The hotel doesn’t offer shuttle from the airport; and because the hotel is so close the orange taxis didn’t want the fare. But the "unofficial" drivers outside Door 4 were happy to help. We paid $10 USA cash. The hotel does offer a free shuttle back to the airport. But actually it is again private cars. We asked to be delivered to our nearby rental car place instead and they obliged. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the traffic and airplane noise at night. Otherwise it is a sweet little boutique hotel staffed with nice people.

We really enjoy staying at Mango. The facilities are very nice and very clean. The made to order breakfast is great. My griend left her Insulin at the Hotel and they sent it by driver to the Airport for my friend to get it before boarding her flight. I would prefer that they use less fragrance in the laundry. We look forward to returning soon.

Lovely property with beautiful patio and excellent resturant. Rooms are basic. No hair dryer tho. They have only 1 at the front desk. You will hear airplanes.. hence why 5 min from airport. Overall… I wouldnt take a resort vacation but great place to stay near the airport and wonderful staff.

Hotel Mango was a great place to finish our Costa Rica trip. The hotel is charming, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. What made the stay especially nice was that the staff recognized us from our previous visit. They were just as welcoming as before and also offered transportation to the airport, which made our departure very easy. A comfortable and convenient place to spend the final night before flying home.

Great location after a very long flight. Very tight parking if you rent a vehicle. Car is better than a SUV/truck. Flights start early so be aware of that. Otherwise great oasis.
