Check-in was the only good part of the experience. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. After checking in, I walked down the dark musty hallways to my room, feeling uncomfortable but hoping that the room would be in better shape than the corridors. Unfortunately, I was to be sorely disappointed. The room smelled even more musty than the hallway, and I found food ground into the fabric of the chair by the window. I went back to the front desk to ask if they had a cleaner room. The front desk clerk helpfully showed me to a room that had just recently been deep cleaned. When we entered it, I could smell the same mustiness as the other room, but this time partially covered up with a sickly sweet cleaning fluid smell. The front desk clerk said it was a new cleaner they've been using and that he hated the smell. I thought for a moment and considered that my child is more sensitive to smells than I am, and even though I had just driven 6.5 hours, and I was looking forward to lying down for a while, I decided to cancel our stay and power through the remaining 6 hour drive to home. The front desk clerk said he would call the manager and try to get a refund for me, since they had plenty of vacancy, and I hadn't taken anyone else's space or cost the hotel anything. But the manager refused to refund my lodging cost. I want to warn everyone else. Hotels.com lists this as a 2.5 star hotel, but it's a 1 star hotel at best. Motel 6 is better, and definitely cleaner.

Staff was so nice and helpful. My room was tired and worn, but mostly clean. It did smell a bit like cigarette smoke, and it made more sense when I discovered there was a rubber glove out over the smoke detector (probably to block the smoke). My room was next to the dumpsters so that was an additional and strangely common noise. It was a bed to sleep in during my travels, but I wouldn’t return.

Hotel was not at all as pictured. Dilapidated, somewhat malodorous, and not enjoyable to stay.

The food was institutionally blah. It did not taste bad - but was not very good either. The cereals available were only for kids, not for health conscious people. The “fresh” fruits looked awful and old. The room was just okay. The air conditioner was terribly noisy while running, and much worse when it started up. My sleep was interrupted 5 times by the noise, so I actually got no good rest. The floor in the upstairs hallway felt uneven. The toilet didn’t flush properly and I had to hold the lever down for the flush to complete. The bed, linens, and towels were good. The man at the front desk was good, kind, and considerate.
