We had a wonderful stay! From the time we entered we were greeted with margaritas. Staff was fantastic. Pool area was wonderful. Also enjoyed riding bikes, which are free and taking a paddle boat ride. We were there over the 4th of July and the pool area had a DJ. Not too far of a walk to the beach. We will definitely be back!

We specifically chose this hotel because we wanted to stay in a hotel with a hot tub. The hot tub was not working and we found out that it had been down for several days. We were not notified of this problem in advance or at check in and it really put a damper on our stay to discover that it was broken when we tried to use it on our first evening there. We were very disappointed in the fact that this advertised amenity was actually not available and were told by someone on the property that they often have problems with this amenity, but we weren’t warned about this issue.

The spa, restaurant and cafe were wonderful! Definitely recommend their brunches. We only stayed 2 days but they were fantastic. The Lox and Avocado was particularly good, but I'd also never had Lox before so I don't have a good reference. I did quite enjoy it though! Overall, my wife and I both had an excellent time at both the hotel and St.Joseph.

Everything was awesome. Only a suggestion to cover the hot tob exit entrance better as it was very cold in the pool area due to the wind blowing the air in from the hot tub exit to the outside hot tub. Also, the hot tob needed to be cleaned but wasn't horrible.

Very nice hotel and staff. Rooms are large, beds are comfortable and plenty of pillows. The indoor pool area and spa are small but very nice. Temperature controls worked amazing. Only issues we could see improvements is more than 2 chairs for the table and a dresser to put your clothes in.

Woke up on our last morning and in the bathroom by shower door and up the wall by toilet there were ants. We let front staff know when we were checking out and they said we will send maintenance to take a look (I showed her some pictures I took with my phone as proof). Explained to staff that we brought no food in the room and especially the bathroom. Other than giving staff 4 stars, remaining survey questions are 3 stars.

Horrible stay. Dirty beds. Broken and dirty glasses in room. Lie after lie about cleaning the room. Out of 3 beds, two were filled with sand, and the other one had sex stains. They told us they changed it, they hadn’t…. Sex stain still there. Passed from person to person. Finally got a small refund, but then noticed they kept the $100 for incidentals….. We also had our card being charged by other people at the bar and we got their bill at check out. One thing after another . It really was bad! I’m still trying to get my incidental money back but of course no-one has the authority and passed me onto another. Hopefully they fix the issue. I’m back at home and mad that we went there on vacation. Disappointing!

We were given a room with temporary furniture. This means a plastic table, plastic dresser with very small drawers, no carpet. And a microwave sat on top of the plastic table. The pictures of this room are not posted on their site. And I was not told until I arrived to check in.

The rooms are under renovation. This is a good thing except when your staying in a room with temporary furniture. It was very uninviting. They did upgrade me on the last night to a bigger room but it too has no furniture and i had to pay an extra $200 that night because it was a delux room.Very disappointing when your trying to impress someone. I feel they should have told me prior to booking I would have stayed elsewhere.

Excellent place to stay in St. Joe. Beautiful views on the fifth floor king size bed room we had overlooking the river. Great service and very clean. The barista in the coffee shop rocked. And Anthony at the front desk was very helpful. The only downside was if you were extended stay, there is no drawer storage on dressor cabinet to place your items on.

Nice hotel near water but room is plain. Bathroom shower design can only get in one way so you can easily walk in with totally soaked by cold water or hot water. Also, the shower head is designed for very tall people. My husband is 6’1, and he can’t even adjust it.

The rooms were under construction and we did not have a dresser, closet, or coffee maker in the room. We told them not to clean our room and the house keeper came in our without knocking while we were changing. The gentleman at the front desk didn’t care when told about it.

Pray you don’t have noisy neighbors or children screaming. The walls are thin and the doors are cut to clear floors so you have 1 inch to 2 inch gaps. Not great. We had to run our computer to make background noise to drown out the screaming child next door. Called the front desk they said they would not move us just monitor the noise for us. Really.

Staff is amazing, room was spotless, comfortable bed modern classy layout. The balcony view over the marina was amazing! We especially liked the pool. It was such a great experience and just minutes from the beach. Can't wait to go back in October!!

My husband and I have wanted to stay here for years. We finally scheduled this for a back to school weekend trip. Check in was great and we were satisfied with the room. Loved the outdoor pool. We can’t believe that this is the only decent hotel in the area with an outdoor pool. That’s why we stayed here. What went sour for us was the experience we had when the power went out. I understand, it was out of their control. The receptionist in the evening of 8/12 and the morning of 8/13 had the “oh well it’s not our fault” attitude. No compensation except basically telling guests they’d refund the night if they left on Monday. That wasn’t an option for us. They could have even offered a credit to their restaurant and I would have been fine. It’s the fact that they couldn’t have cared less about the experience their paying guests had. They wrote my number down for a manager to call me, because they were too busy Tuesday to assist with any guests. Still haven’t heard anything and not really expecting to (5 days since we left). Honestly the way this situation was handled will be enough for us not to return unfortunately.

Upon check-in, we had to wait as there was a sign up on the counter stating the clerk was busy. Planks was decent, but the service was terribly slow. Probably bad timing just all around. Would stay there again just wouldn’t rush back.

This hotel is in a great location with lots of opportunities for different types of fun. The downside is you are expected to deliver the level of service commiserate with the price you charge. We were gone all day, only to find out that our towels had not been replaced and the room had not been serviced. When we called the front desk we were blown off and told we must not have realized our towels have been replaced, even though they were still stacked up where we left them on the floor in the morning. There are lots of positive with this property, but until they get the polish on the “service” aspect of what they do, it will never reach potential.

Hotel is very nice over all. Room was visited two of the three days by housekeeping. Restaurant service was extremely slow especially when ordering only salads. Waiter was very kind and apologetic. Our meal was comped and we were handed our salads as we left. The hotel is not very assessable for families wanting to visit the beach. You must walk up the sidewalk which is on a highway exit ramp and then over a bridge.

⸻ We stayed at this lovely inn while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The room was very clean and the whole place had a peaceful, quiet atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s also in a great location, just a short drive or walk to downtown St. Joseph, which made exploring the area super convenient. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The only minor downside was that the pool could have been a bit cleaner, but overall we had no complaints. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Everything was wonderful here and close to the cute town. We were disappointed in the view. Although on the lake, right across was large piles of road building materials. I typically see this along highways. If that does not bother you then I recommend this resort.

We didn’t do enough research-the harbor view was not what we expected-very industrial. The hotel was ok, staff was terrific. St Joes is not a “resort” town when compared to New Buffalo, South Haven, and Sagatuck.

The hotel overall was very good, certainly on par with the best in the area. Staff were both professional and friendly, and a nice unexpected perk was that the shuttle was on call whenever you needed it, not just on the hour or half hour. As was clear from the map location, the water overlook was of the river leading out to the lake, not the lake itself, so that was a given. Unfortunately, directly across the river was an industrial site for storage and loading of gravel. Not much to be done about it, but it does mar what would otherwise be a really nice view. We were offered free margaritas upon check-in, and post dinner s'mores at the fire pits on the veranda. It being a holiday weekend, we expected quite a large crowd of tourist families, and were 100% correct. So, we didn't end up using the smallish indoor and outdoor pools, but we did eat dinner and breakfast at the very well-designed restaurant. Dinner was a little disappointing (lukewarm ribs and the whitefish entree was just OK), but breakfast was fabulous (great, interesting selections on the menu). We enjoyed the french toast and the freshly pulled corned beef in the hash & eggs. At $685 all in for the night, it was a very expensive overnight, and that may be why my expectations were pretty high. You'll pay much less than that during mid-week or off season. But what really makes a place shine is the people, and the folks at The Inn were definitely its greatest asset.

The room was very comfortable , it had a great view. The staff was top notch. We ordered steaks from room service and they were very tough hard to chew at a pricey $30.00 a piece. There wasn't any hotel information in the room. No map of the hotel, menus for room service, or any area attractions that might be of interest to your guests. We did have a nice stay and really enjoyed the New Years fire works!
