I stayed here for a short trip and was overall satisfied with the experience. The self-service check-in was quick and easy, which I really appreciated after a long day of travel. The room itself was very clean, modern, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The only real downside was the lack of elevator access in some parts of the building. I had a large suitcase, and carrying it up the stairs to my room was definitely a struggle. This could be a challenge for guests with heavier bags or mobility concerns. Other than that, the hotel was quiet, well-maintained, and a great value for the price. I'd consider staying again, but I'd try to pack a little lighter next time!

We enjoyed our one night stay. The hotel is old, which we enjoy. The floors squeak and you can hear guests moving around. The room was small, but worked well for us. The common kitchen space was really nice, with everything you need to prepare your own meals. They even had items for purchase available.

Super cute little place. Expensive for what it is though. The room is tiny so even though there were only 2 of us, we were practically on top of each other. That said, they have a wonderful common kitchen area with everything you need if you want to save a bit of money and make your own food. The sitting area in a solarium(?) on the second floor is beautiful.

L'hotel Snaefell è una vecchia dimora dei primi del '900, tutta in legno, che vista dall'esterno senza dubbio ha un grande fascino; per non parlare della posizione, visto che la villa si affaccia su un lago molto carino. Al piano terra si trova un locale cucina, molto ampio, dotato di vari elettrodomestici, con la possibilità di scaldare le vivande e consumarle ai tavoli disponibili all'interno della sala. Le stanze sono ubicate su tre piani: la nostra era al secondo. Non si può certo dire che fosse ampia o particolarmente comoda: due letti separati, posti in fondo alla camera, con poco agio per muoversi. Nessun armadio ma semplicemente alcune grucce per appendere gli abiti. Bagno essenziale. Mi rendo conto che si tratta di un edificio di oltre un secolo, pertanto non si può pretendere troppo comfort. La colazione (da pagare a parte) servita in un altro edificio, ovvero il ristorante Aldan, non distante dall'hotel (circa 200m) è a buffet e offre ampia scelta tra dolce e salato. Per chi vuole la sera si può anche cenare. Su tutto vince il paesaggio bellissimo che si può ammirare semplicemente standosene seduti e guardando fuori dalla finestra.

Only one night in Seydisfjordur, but I would love to come back to this hotel! Beautiful room in an older but well maintained building. I enjoyed the kitchen facilities for preparing snacks, lunch, coffee etc.

The hotel was lovely but our room had a very strong mouldy smell coming from the bathroom, and the shower tiles appeared to have mould growing in spots. We could not keep the door to the bathroom open for any length of time because of this as it overpowered the whole room. We also did not feel comfortable to shower.

The hotel is located in a cute lake town. The building used to be a post office that turned into hotel. Based on the pictures provided by Expedia, I chose the least expensive room as I couldn't see much difference between the rooms. That was a mistake. We couldn't fit our suitcase in the room. We felt as if we were sleeping in a closet. The room was very clean and basically was sufficient enough for one night. We had a great dinner across the street in a restaurant that belongs to the same owner.

This property is located in a quiet place. We drove into a parking lot labelled with the name only to discover that registration was half a block back. Other guests helped direct us where to go. The hotel looked liked it needed a coat of paint but inside it was a spacious set of rooms. Good amenities (tea, coffee, small refrigerator, separate sitting room, lots of outlets to charge electronics, many hooks to hang damp things, good closet space). The bathroom was small and dated but well appointed. Clean and comfortable. Three restaurants are available - one tilted towards Icelandic food (so we were told) - one for burgers and pub food, and another towards pizza and Italian. We enjoyed a lovely pub dinner. This is a port town - tourist ships dock. There is one grocery facility filled with souvenirs and food items.

The room was compact, cosy and clean. It had a proper double bed, not 2 singles pushed up together, there was a eating area where residents could eat their own food, a lounge area with comfortable seats and a fantastic breakfast that was served in the nearby hotel.

Misleading advertising on line. This property is stinky, smells moldy and it’s so run down it’s scary. We would have not stayed but it was late. It was so difficult to check in we had to ask locals how to get a hold of the owners to let us in…really!

The beds were the most oldest ones we ever slept on from different hotels in our life. I wasn't able to fall in sleep the whole entire night since bed was too soft with no support pillow. The room was super small, same as bathroom. Loud noise from cars passed by, same with people walked on the street talking very loud.

The check-in process was very confusing. This hotel has multiple buildings, so you have to visit a central hub. The shared kitchen area was very clean and had great supplies for making dinner. Sadly, this was the worst stay of our trip. The room was hot, even with the windows open. The building is old, which is cool, until you have to sleep and can hear every noise.

Well, our stay didn’t start off on the right note which was cause for some disappointment off the bat, but we soon overcame that. Our issue was that the hotel does not keep staff in the reception unless you call them to tell them you’re coming. I don’t know about you but if I book a hotel and I don’t show up, I’ll get charged. That is my commitment to the hotel. I would hope that their commitment to me would be that they stay at the reception until their posted closing time on the day of my arrival. We were left to feel that it wasn’t worth their time, in the “off season” to be at the reception when we arrive. To be fair, they did send us a message to have us call before we arrived. We didn’t have phone service so I replied to their message with clear timing on our arrival but clearly that didn’t work. Otherwise, our experience at the hotel was fine. It’s a heritage building with lots of character and a very nice communal kitchen area. The bathroom was small and a little cramped but that might be expected in a building like this. Reminded me of uni days. Not in a good way. Room was smaller than my dorm and I felt misled by the photos. I went by the rating on hotels.com but lesson learnt as it seems loads of ppl were later surprised by what they got for what they paid. I even asked the reception if they could change the room but they told me to book a room that was 3x the price!! Check in experience was horrible - they make you come to another hotel. I would say though it was quite clean and the staff in general seemed friendly. It just felt that i was duped by the photos that presented a different image of the hotel. Whether thats the fault of the host or hotels.com, its the guest who ultimately pays the price (and quite a high one i must say)

City is beautiful, room was tooooo small, it had only bed in it, everything was clean, no complain on that side. Terrible communication with hotel, they are not responding to send messages. There is no reception, no one whom you can talk, there was only kitchen, we wanted to add breakfast, but HOW, no one's around for communicating. Also no option for eating in the WHOLE city after 9 pm, all kitchen's are closed even at FRIDAY!! No option to change charged credit card on the site, I had to call directly and they charged another amount, 12 euros more than site gives (will try to figure this one out) Overall not pleased

Lovely quaint room. Clean. Comfy beds. Central location with great view of lake and old church. Fantastic staff and lovely breakfast. Not great sound proofing in the rooms. Sounded like a herd of elephants above us but I guess that’s old houses for you (my Loops were great!).

Wonderful little hotel! We stayed in December 2023 in a triple room with a great view out onto the ship harbor. It was easy to get in touch with reception to check in and he was wonderful to let us know which restaurant in town was open for the evening. There’s a fridge in the desk that we didn’t find until the next morning.

We had an incredible stay in this very central guesthouse. The village is small but absolutely worth a visit, and you will be in the middle of it in this hotel. You can just walk around. Loved having our own private entrance.

This property is located in a quiet place. We drove into a parking lot labelled with the name only to discover that registration was half a block back. Other guests helped direct us where to go. The hotel looked liked it needed a coat of paint but inside it was a spacious set of rooms. Good amenities (tea, coffee, small refrigerator, separate sitting room, lots of outlets to charge electronics, many hooks to hang damp things, good closet space). The bathroom was small and dated but well appointed. Clean and comfortable. Three restaurants are available - one tilted towards Icelandic food (so we were told) - one for burgers and pub food, and another towards pizza and Italian. We enjoyed a lovely pub dinner. This is a port town - tourist ships dock. There is one grocery facility filled with souvenirs and food items.

L'hotel Snaefell è una vecchia dimora dei primi del '900, tutta in legno, che vista dall'esterno senza dubbio ha un grande fascino; per non parlare della posizione, visto che la villa si affaccia su un lago molto carino. Al piano terra si trova un locale cucina, molto ampio, dotato di vari elettrodomestici, con la possibilità di scaldare le vivande e consumarle ai tavoli disponibili all'interno della sala. Le stanze sono ubicate su tre piani: la nostra era al secondo. Non si può certo dire che fosse ampia o particolarmente comoda: due letti separati, posti in fondo alla camera, con poco agio per muoversi. Nessun armadio ma semplicemente alcune grucce per appendere gli abiti. Bagno essenziale. Mi rendo conto che si tratta di un edificio di oltre un secolo, pertanto non si può pretendere troppo comfort. La colazione (da pagare a parte) servita in un altro edificio, ovvero il ristorante Aldan, non distante dall'hotel (circa 200m) è a buffet e offre ampia scelta tra dolce e salato. Per chi vuole la sera si può anche cenare. Su tutto vince il paesaggio bellissimo che si può ammirare semplicemente standosene seduti e guardando fuori dalla finestra.

This is the second time I’m staying here. Same room too. Excellent service and a very nice single room made this trip very easy. They don’t include breakfast. I didn’t have the Buffay next store where they usually have it but down the street. I was not fond of the buffet before so I decided not to go for it this time. Centrally located near some restaurants which are good options. I love Seydurfjordur

The room was compact, cosy and clean. It had a proper double bed, not 2 singles pushed up together, there was a eating area where residents could eat their own food, a lounge area with comfortable seats and a fantastic breakfast that was served in the nearby hotel.

Altes historisches Haus im Vintagestyle, hellhörig da altes Holzhaus, kleine Zimmer. Die Rezeption ist im Restaurant vor der Brücke, Hier gibt es auch sehr gute Menüs am Abend und das Frühstücksbüffet, Cappuccino muß aber zusätzlich bezahlt werden.

The room was tiny but cute & cozy. It had most everything thing you need but the really amazing aspect was the restaurant which served an extremely delicious dinner. Bravo to the chef(s). Just as nice were the staff especially Ugo & his partner Anna Maria , so friendly , welcoming and attentive! Special thanks to Ugo for an interesting conversation. The breakfast repast was equally delicious. Thank you for a brief but memorable stay!
