Our stay at Open Hearth was great. The owner was super accommodating and friendly. The place felt very comforting and cozy. Rooms were clean. I loved the fire pit areas in front and back, pool and hot tub, board games and books available for guests to enjoy, and the variety of drinks, snacks, beer, wine and frozen pizza also available for guests whenever needed. Will definitely stay here again.

I will 100% stay here again bc of all the details that they added to make the stay more comfortable. They go above and beyond which is not common in hotels in my opinion. They have a common room with plates and silverware all day long, they give a ton of towels in your room, there’s 2 person sauna, hot tub, heated pool, fitness center, games, and a couple fire pits and plenty of comfortable seating outside. Everyone was so nice and accommodating.

The breakfast was a little sparse, otherwise very pleasant stay. The pool was slightly cool, but we enjoyed it. The hot tub was slightly hotter than I like, but I stayed for five minutes. The fire pit seemed to keep the May flies away.

Only 1 thing that is negative Pool and spa opened late and closed early We are early risers and wanted to use the spa especially We get closing pool to kids but it could have stayed open for adults a while longer

We have stayed here a couple times now and it will definitely be a tradition for us from now on. Amazing dog friendly hotel. Wonderful pool and hot tub. We stayed in a suite that had a jacuzzi bath tub and full kitchen. It’s just so amazing here. Live music on Saturday nights. Nice little breakfast served every morning. Great location. Bonfires every night. Just awesome!!

Beautiful property, clean spacious rooms, loved the out door fire pits and seating, indoor pool and hot tub, corn hole, amazing staff, very friendly! Cozy indoor fireplace sitting areas, large breakfast area. Close to popular attractions, shuttle service. We will definitely back!

Our room was noticeably damp, despite there being a dehumidifier running in the room the entire time we were there. I’ve never stayed at a hotel with dehumidifiers in the guest rooms. Unsure what the cause of the excess moisture, but it made the stay unpleasant.

We stayed there for Fallfest and it was mostly quiet (there are always a few bad apples being loud outside or in the hallways). Beds are firm, rooms are clean, plenty of wide parking spots, 2 fire pits, clean indoor pool, and fairly typical breakfast food. We would definitely stay there again.

This place was very clean (lobby, room, pool and breakfast area), breakfast was great, wonderful view of back yard, room was very roomy and blinds were wonderful to keep the morning light out (slept in), the owner was so nice when we checked in and out, the pool and hot tub were at the right temperature. If we come up to that area again we will stay there again and I will for sure be telling family and friends about this place.

Our room #115 was located behind the elevator, quite small and the bathroom sink counter top area was too small to store many toiletries, about 2 feet wide. Breakfast was very limited with machine made pancakes, hard boiled eggs, cold cereal; no scrambled eggs and sausage like most hotels now offer. The grounds were mowed but not trimmed or manicured. Staff was friendly.

This was a quick getaway to watch the fall leaves. This is an older lodge type location with many homey amenities such as fire pits and local musicians. Because it is older it does show its age. One suggestion is to have at least 1 comfortable chair in the rooms. The wooden chair is very uncomfortable.

The host was very friendly and helpful! The lobby fireplace was very inviting. The King bedroom had plenty of room with a side couch to sit on. We were surprised that we had a microwave too! The lodge in on the quiet side of town and not too far from the Main Street where all the shops and pubs are! We will go back to stay.

My check-in experience was not as I expected. I placed my reservation on March 25, 2025. I wanted two (2) queen-size beds but, they were not available. I liked the reviews of the hotel so accepted a reservation for 1 king-size bed and a queen-size pull-out bed. I was told that I was the first person on a waiting-list and would be given the next room with two (2) queen-size beds that became available. I called the hotel approximately ten (10) days before our arrival and was told that nothing had changed. At check-in we were informed that nothing had changed. We were also informed that all the hotels in the area were filled. We were on a “Grandparents Camp” with two grandchildren to take a bike tour of Washington Island and Peninsula State Park. While in Door County we would also take-in the local sites so – we accepted the 1-king-size room that we reserved. After we were settled in our room, I checked your Expedia website and found that there were eight (8) rooms with two (2) queen-size beds available. I took screen-shots of these pages from your site for future reference. The hotel, staff members and quests were great but, my back still aches from sleeping on that queen-side pull-out bed. I expected better. rlw

We liked the location of resort as well as it's right in the middle of Door County with close access to all of the little towns either north or south. This was mine and my fiancés first time at Open Hearth Lodge, and we definitely be back again! The people were extremely friendly and welcoming. They would open the doors when we would go in and out and even greeted us by our names every time we came in and left the hotel. Will recommend this to all my family and friends.

We had a wonderful stay at Open Hearth Lodge for our anniversary. After dinner we enjoyed time around the outdoor fire pit in the evening while we saw deer stroll by. Great location near Sister Bay. The staff was very welcoming and we would definitely stay here again.

Loved the hotel. Not super close to the downtown area of sister bay so you have to drive but outside of that i highly recommend this hotel. Good service, amenities, clean, good breakfast, good price....etc.

It's so relaxing to take a break in the rear of the hotel where they have a patio with tables & even a grill for you to use. The view of the trees and open land is mesmerizing. At night you can count on the gas firepit to be on for all to enjoy. There is one in the front too. Fun to hit the hot tub after a good shopping day. Good Breakfast with pancakes and Door County flavored coffee available all day. Just a few reasons why we keep on going back.

This place was a perfect place to stay for the Christkindle market in Sister Bay! Plenty of outdoor fire pits and indoor fire places to enjoy the season! Very dog friendly (for those that travel with pets) and incredibly clean for those that do not have their furry friends with them. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Breakfast and coffee was good. Everything was fresh and the coffee was very good. All in all a fantastic time at a very nice place. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

Warm and inviting atmosphere. Decent pricing and close to local restaurants and shopping. The staff is great, the rooms large and there are local wines, frozen pizza ( cooked and brought and brought to your room) and snacks available at the front desk to purchase for your convenience.

We enjoyed our stay very much; staff was terrific - very friendly and helpful. The only minor nit-picking I can do is to say a little too much chlorine in the hot tub and breakfast was too basic - rather disappointing.
