Stayed 4 nights

We stayed for 7 nights with my husband and 5 years old son. The rooms were spacious and practical. When I mentioned that I have an allergy issue related to carpets, they immediately moved us to another floor. The welcome/front desk team was very friendly and extremely helpful — we were very happy with our stay. Elena was wonderful staff Our only negative comment is about housekeeping. At least one cleaning service every 2–3 days or trash collection should be provided. Other than that, we felt very safe during our stay. The hotel location is amazing. As soon as you leave the hotel, you are at the Riverwalk. The metro is very close, and Magnificent Mile is within walking distance. Famous places like Target, Millennium Park, and good breakfast spots and cafés (like Beatrix, etc.) are all close enough to walk to. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families with children.

Stayed for two nights, have not had a hot water for the whole stay. Wasn't offered a different room either a compensation after we complained about the issue.

Made reservations to this hotel for the sole purpose of enjoying the rooftop lounge. When I arrived at check in, I was told that it was closed. Would not have stayed here had the website stated that the rooftop lounge was closed instead of making it a selling point to lure people to continue to think it was one of the available amenities.

Pretty good experience overall. The only NEGATIVES were: 1) during check-in there is a HARD sell to participate in some sort of sales pitch while doing on-the-house activities in Chicago. The front desk person simply would not stop trying to sell this, even after we told her several times in no uncertain terms that we were not interested. Definitely a bad way to start our vacation - be prepared! It was so awkward seeing that receptionist after that experience, too, she seemed cold toward us. Weird! 2) cleaning services weirdly are not provided. They say the goal is to make guests "feel like they're at home". Um, I'm trying NOT to feel like I'm at home because I'm on vacation. 3) they add a $27 per person "resort fee". What, exactly, is this for? A resort has all sorts of activities and spaces and extras. 4) Noise. You know it's a bad sign when ear plugs are provided for free. Our room was right next to the L. It wasn't terrible, and the ear plugs do help, but be prepared. POSITIVES: 1) staff (except for the first check-in person we encountered) were exceedingly friendly and helpful; 2) they let us check-in an hour early - much appreciated!; 3) very good location, loads of walkable options; 4) as 2 adults and a teen, we really appreciated the studio set up. The toilet is separate from the shower, there are two sinks, and a separate vanity also. Great set up for our small family. NOTE for parking we used the public garage at Millenium park, cheaper and onlya short walk.
