This has got to be one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I booked two rooms as we had a wedding at a nearby venue. At €296 each for one night, almost €600 in total, it was extortionate, but I had little choice. When we arrived later that night, we found neither room had a window facing outside. There was technically a window in each room, but it faced into the internal hallway and had a curtain/blind over it. There was no natural daylight or fresh air. The rooms appeared to have been poorly converted to maximise the number of bedrooms, with makeshift-looking MDF shelving and fittings. At no point was this made clear when booking. The rooms were not advertised as "windowless", because technically they had windows, just not external ones. This was particularly bad as we stayed during very warm weather, making the rooms extremely hot and stifling. The fan provided made little or no difference. When we raised our concerns with the owner/management the following morning, he was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. Given that he was happy to take almost €600 for two rooms, I expected a much more professional standard and response. I feel this was a very underhanded way of doing business. Had we been told that the windows faced an internal hallway rather than outside, we could have made an informed decision before booking. The behavior and attitude we experienced were extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

The staff was amazing and so friendly the rooms were spotless as was the common areas, the staff particularly the girl behind the bar could not have been more helpful, we only live 20 minutes away and wanted to have a night away from normality and do some shopping in the village and it was the perfect place for just that, thanks so much

Great hotel with friendly staff, excellent staff and a great location in the centre of Thurles. Breakfast set you up for the day and it was easy to stagger home after a few beers!

Stayed 2 nights

It’s ok. Room for first night (ground floor) had no window to outside only onto a corridor (had a curtain!) and thus was dark and stuffy - the fan provided didn’t help. It had a large green emergency light on the ceiling which was not great for trying to sleep. Got switched to a different room on another floor which thankfully had a window in the room and the bathroom- happy days. On arriving at the hotel the door was closed - there was no one on reception to let us in and no signs to give info - had to go around to front of hotel to the bar to tell staff we had arrived. Not a great start. Food in the restaurant in the evening was nice. Breakfast was basic - but the hot options were ok. Was supposed to be ‘pay at the property’ but the money was taken from my card before I arrived ( actually wanted to pay in cash). So a lot of little incidents ( there were others) which didn’t make a comfortable stay. It’s ok if you aren’t on the ground floor and would be ok for a quick stop over for a night where you wouldn’t need to spend much time in the hotel. Oh and there is very little parking.
