the concept of the hotel is pretty cool. They provided the essentials, No TV and no fridge. Bed is comfortable and the room is small but the bathroom is a good size. We only stayed for 1 night as we’re just passing by coimbra anyway. I would imagine that it may get uncomfortable staying in this hotel for more than 1 night because of the size of the rooms unless you are travelling solo.

I found out 2 days before that there is a major construction project happening on the street, and there is no close parking - not even a place to pull up near the hotel to drop off your belongings. I had to haul luggage from about 15 minutes away through construction and torn up walkways and gravel. The hotel is interesting and otherwise well located. But if being able to park nearby is important to you, know that this construction will not be done any time soon. Good breakfast for a small amount of money. Room looks like a sauna - very cozy and quiet. Clean and well maintained. Walking distance to university and river.

The room and shower were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very nice. The public seating areas you can see in the pictures are not glass enclosed, so theyre not a good place to get some daylight when it rains, but the spacious restaurant is a nice spot to hang out

The rooms are literally boxes built inside an old parking garage--so no window. Restaurant and bar on the top floor with views of river and park. But quite, dark and cool for sleeping. a/c and private baths.

Stravagante Hotel in ottima posizione, le camera sono delle scatole di legno senzq finestra, adatto a soggiorni brevi o ad una clientela giovane, bagno molto bello e pulito. Le due note meno positiive sono la scrsa insonorizzazione e la scarsa pulizia del pavimento della camera (pieno di capelli e polvere). Personale molto gentile, area bar molto carina.

At first, my small, windowless, wood paneled room reminded me of a sauna and made me a little claustrophobic, but I soon got over it and found my room to be quite adaquate for my needs. Further, the staff were terrific and even assisted me with travel reservations to my next destination!

Worst room I have ever stayed in. Ceiling hight is 6” or about 1.8meter. No window. Extremely small. Bad lighting. Absolutely claustrophobic! Couldn’t sleep there. Checked out at 10pm trying to find another place. Hotel didn’t care or help

O Zero Box possui uma proposta de acomodação com estilo e conceito diferente de tudo que já conheci. Em uma caixa, literalmente, com espaço reduzido e teto baixo, oferece o básico para uma boa noite de sono e um delicioso banho, ou seja, a cama e a ducha são maravilhosas. Não possui televisão e nem frigobar no Box. A troca de toalhas e lençóis, a retirada do lixo, a reposição de papel higiênico, sabonete e shampoo e a limpeza do quarto e do banheiro são realizadas mediante solicitação. A limpeza poderia ser melhor, deixa um pouco a desejar. O ponto alto da minha estadia de 23 dias no Zero Box de Coimbra foi o atendimento. O João, a Margarida e o Rudh são impressionantemente impecáveis, atendem com atenção, presteza, simpatia e gentileza. Essa Equipe é nota 1000 e merecem uma constelação de estrelas!!! Se está disposto a viver novas experiências e sair da caixa, pode vir para dentro do Zero Box!!!

This was an overall good hotel. We were poorly received by reception when we came early to drop off our luggage. However, everybody else was helpful enough. The rooms are small, as designed, but are definitely not best if you are using the room other than to sleep. Overall good, but I would check other options as well if returning to Coimbra.

I book this property because I needed an over night stay during my road trip through Portugal. My only regret not staying longer. Staff: Friendly, nice and very accommodating. Accommodations: the property has a unique design with a full service restaurant on the roof. The rooms are just pictured and surprisingly comfortable. Location: Central right by the bridge with shops and sights literally around the corner. Back to the food… I had one of the BEST shrimp dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I’m embarrassed to say it was so good I literally order two of them. Don’t let the concept of the hotel deter you. I had a very enjoyable stay and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We had an amazing trip to Coimbra. Beauftiful location in front of small park and tiver for exploring Coimbra. We were lucky and got a free parking lot in front of the hotel. Good breaktfast. Nice service. The room is very small, just for sleeping but most of the time you will enjoy the beautiful places in the city.

The location is very central and stuff super helpful. Rooms small but have everything. Very good value. The only problem is that due to construction on the street there was no way to even unload the luggage , we had to park several blocks away and walk with our bags.
