Fint hotel med den bedste beliggenhed med udsigt ud over byen ved morgenbordet . Lidt sløvt internet , morgenmaden er rigtig fin . Aircon går ud i løbet af natten og starter først igen kl 6.30 så det var ret varmt i de dage vi havde over 30 grader om dagen . Der går en elevator fra P kælderen i hovedgaden op til bjerget hvor hotellet ligger så man sparer turen op af trappen .

Ich bin mit dem Zug angereist. Am besten geht man in Richtung Altstadt bis Zur Oberen Hauptgasse. Biegt man dort links ein, und geht einige Meter, findet man auf der rechten Seite einen Eingang zu einem Parkhaus. Geht man den Eingang bis zum Ende, kommt man zu einem Lift. Der linke Lift führt direkt zum Hotel. So spart man sich viele Stufen 😃 Das Hotel befindet sich nämlich auf dem Schlossberg im Schloss. Ich war begeistert vom ersten Moment an. Schon die Begrüßung war herzlich und das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet und besitzen einen Safe und eine Minibar. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichhaltig. Der kleine Wellnessbereich war sehr schön und konnte täglich, je nach Kapazität, für eine Stunde reserviert werden um ihn alleine zu nutzen. Ich könnte sicherlich noch tausend Dinge schreiben, aber das Beste wäre es, es selbst zu erleben. Ich hatte einen wundervollen zehntägigen Aufenthalt und werde mit Sicherheit wieder kommen. ♡

We had a wonderful staying at this hotel. The room is nice and clean and have everything we need. It is right at the castle! The only thing is the bed is too hard and the pillow is too soft and the room is too hot but still wonderful overall. The spa is a must do!

Had an amazing 2-night stay in a panorama view room (2.08) and loved every minute! Spacious room, comfortable bed, big shower, fridge and coffeemaker and kettle. Delicious breakfast (the smoked salmon with horseradish foam was delightful) and the private spa is not to be missed! Book it upon arrival. You'll have access for a 50 minute period and can use the sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and shower facilities. So great after a day (or week) of hiking! Easy to access via train or bus-they provide a transfer or you can walk...take the short cut elevator in the parking garage.

Located next to Thun castle, topmost attraction in town. Still quiet and and sublime. Best sauna/spa I've ever been. Breakfast included and excellent. We also dined at the restaurant and it was our best meal in Switzerland . Commendations to service from Herbert and Patrick. Simply Superb!

Please take the elevator from the parking garage to access the hotel. Do not take the bus like we did and lug your luggage up the very steep hill. Otherwise, this place is beautiful!

If you’re looking for a "Four Seasons" experience this is not the place. If you are looking for a unique, well run, warm and welcoming place inside a historic setting, this IS the place. Perched above the beautiful community of Thun, this boutique hotel has well appointed rooms, spa facilities and a thoughfully currated menu and wine selection at the on site restaurant. With all of that said, the staff are the biggest asset, they are gracious, polite, helpful and so welcoming. I would stay again, for sure!

Wonderfully interesting building, fabulous employees, and great breakfast for our two room/two-night stay. Very clean. We had one business room and also the tower room. We found ourselves hot though - the tower being a historic designation there is not any air conditioning and limited receptacles for devices, so as the days were perhaps unseasonably hot the room stayed too warm for us until approximately 1am. We left the windows open to catch some breeze - but then we got flies and birds and all the noise from those coming and going as well as those our to the bars having a good time (until 3am on Saturday).

The rooms in this castle are modern and comfortable with a lovely view to the courtyard of the castle. My husband and I booked a "cozy" double which was pretty spaceous by EU standards. Nice amenities in the rooms (e.g. coffee maker - which is also quite unusual for a European hotel). We took a taxi up from the train station with our luggage but then discovered the public lift (which is part of an award winning car park-- spotless and convenient!) from the lower section of the old town - so we walked back for our departure. This town is def worth a stay- take the boat trip....

This is an old castle made into hotel. There is no AC in the room. The parking is not far but not in the hotel property. It can be noisy at night as the old town houses concerts lasting till 10-11 pm. Breakfast is to order and we found portions inadequate.

Zimmer war sehr schön und auch das Frühstück war fantastisch. Das ganze Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Einzig das Bett war mir persönlich viel zu weich aber das ist geschmackssache. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder, nächstesmal werden wir das Turmzimmer ausprobieren. :)

Amazing service and beautiful hotel! We loved the views from our 3 large windows with views from every angle. The included breakfast was delicious with many hot item choices as well as a buffet with various breads, fruits, cereals and yogurts. I enjoyed the cappuccino and my husband loved the hot chocolate. I felt like we stepped into a fairytale. Thanks for a delightful experience!

kleine aber praktisch eingerichtete Zimmer. Ehemalige Stafanstalt! Sehr freundliches Personal und eine hervorragende Küche im Restaurant. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist relativ bescheiden, doch kann man alles via Service an den Tisch bestellen und servieren lassen, was man am Buffet nicht findet.

Just stunning to stay in an actual castle overlooking a stunning view. We felt like we really were in a Disney movie. The weather was stunning and we just loved it. Staff were friendly and happy to help. Only down side was the room was quite small. However it had everything we could need.

O hotel é excelente. Destaque para o café da manhã que é surreal! Além das opções no buffet, disponibilizam um menu a parte para pedidos a la carte, com opções que até hoje nunca encontramos em café da manhã de hotéis. Diferente de muitos comentários que vimos de hóspedes, não nos ofereceram espumante quando chegamos e nem transfer para ida ou volta à estação de trem (mesmo pedindo). Não explicaram com antecedência sobre o acesso ao hotel através de elevador (subimos inúmeros degraus de uma escadaria imensa com malas sendo que seria desnecessário) e este foi o caminho indicado pelo Maps. The rooms in this castle are modern and comfortable with a lovely view to the courtyard of the castle. My husband and I booked a "cozy" double which was pretty spaceous by EU standards. Nice amenities in the rooms (e.g. coffee maker - which is also quite unusual for a European hotel). We took a taxi up from the train station with our luggage but then discovered the public lift (which is part of an award winning car park-- spotless and convenient!) from the lower section of the old town - so we walked back for our departure. This town is def worth a stay- take the boat trip....

Amazing location, the man in the evening was absolutely amazing!! He gave us direction and things too see, I wish we met him on arrival we wasted a whole morning wandering around, Because the female in the morning gave us no direction or map just said to come back later in the afternoon and your room will be ready. The female is the morning, not helpful at all.

The hotel was very nice with great accommodations and staff were very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've had. Check in was a little confusing because there was nobody at reception when I arrived and entrance is the same as the restaurant right next to it without a clear sign, but I realized later that this was because it is a small shop and staff are taking on multiple roles throughout the day. However responses to any questions via email were answered very promptly even in the evening when I didn't expect an answer until the next day. The location is very nice with a great view but it is high up so be sure to ask the hotel for the best way to get there if coming from the train station.

Panoramic view was great. The female staff particularly without white coat at reception was very rude. During checkout I asked for 2 glasses of water for which she charged CHF 8 without informing. It is really surprising as there is plenty of water which was wasted by keeping tap open 24/7.

The staff were very friendly, calm, professional and helpful. A dream really! The decor in the room, dining room m and reception was superb. There is only one thing that could be improved ….. Guests should be emailed by the property and from Expedia / other OTA - and explained on their website that there is a lift and that the alternative access to the hotel is via approximately 150 steps ! This is important as one of our party had a heart condition and it proved difficult for them to climb the 150 steps with luggage. We used google to determine how to access the hotel (I imagine many guests will also do this) however Google does not indicate anything about a lift. The hotel could make it clearer on their website for a start.

Wonderfully interesting building, fabulous employees, and great breakfast for our two room/two-night stay. Very clean. We had one business room and also the tower room. We found ourselves hot though - the tower being a historic designation there is not any air conditioning and limited receptacles for devices, so as the days were perhaps unseasonably hot the room stayed too warm for us until approximately 1am. We left the windows open to catch some breeze - but then we got flies and birds and all the noise from those coming and going as well as those our to the bars having a good time (until 3am on Saturday).

Fint hotel med den bedste beliggenhed med udsigt ud over byen ved morgenbordet . Lidt sløvt internet , morgenmaden er rigtig fin . Aircon går ud i løbet af natten og starter først igen kl 6.30 så det var ret varmt i de dage vi havde over 30 grader om dagen . Der går en elevator fra P kælderen i hovedgaden op til bjerget hvor hotellet ligger så man sparer turen op af trappen .

The hosts were great . It’s about a 10 min walk from the train station to the castle parking lot elevator. The breakfast was excellent. There is AC which is nice during the summer. It’s a great location to explore the Berner Oberland region.Buy the half fare card and the Berner Oberland pass. We bought the 8 day pass and would plan our days according to the weather. We will stay there again!

First, it is not boutique at all though it is in a castle. The room is fully modernized and does not give us any sense of living in a castle (We stayed in castle hotels in France and Italia previously). Second, the breakfast was served in 2-3 “courses”. We didn’t want cheese &meat and wanted an extra egg & piece of smoked salmon instead. They refused our request unless we pay for the switch. This was the first time we didn’t have enough for breakfast during our six week visit to Europe. Thun is beautiful and worth visiting.

Located next to Thun castle, topmost attraction in town. Still quiet and and sublime. Best sauna/spa I've ever been. Breakfast included and excellent. We also dined at the restaurant and it was our best meal in Switzerland . Commendations to service from Herbert and Patrick. Simply Superb!

This is a unique hotel located inside a 12th century castle, staff was very nice and restaurant inside the hotel was amazing, we had dinner with great views and delicious food, breakfast was complimentary and very nice, we loved the overall experience

Great place connected to the castle. We chose this place because it had air conditioning, but it never really cooled off. Swiss haven't figured that out yet. Or maybe because it eas the top floor. They did provide a fan which was very helpful. I would not hesitate to stay again, but only off-season and not during the summer months.

This place was amazing! First you are literally staying inside a famous landmark/gorgeous castle. The spa room is absolutely amazing, used it a couple times and were always by ourselves. Rooms are standard. Our A/C didn’t work, even though the staff did everything to fix it. We just kept the window open and it cooled down at night. Breakfast was included and amazing! Would give this place a 6/5 stars and would recommend it to anyone visiting Switzerland! Side note, we visited many many towns and cities in Switzerland and Thun was undeniable the best place to stay as it is very relaxing but full of unbelievable restaurants, shops, and lounges! Thanks to the amazing staff here!
