Kermandie Hotel

Nice spot, lovely food at the restaurant, verandah railings around the units could do with being repaired, clean and tidy.

Was a good night though it was not clear at the time of booking that we were to be staying IN the pub. Turned out not to be a problem and the room was great. Be aware that there is only stair access to the rooms

Accommodation was separate from the Hotel. Room and facilities very clean, catered for all my needs e.g. self-contained kitchen, bathroom, TV, comfortable bed, safe and secure car bay. Hotel decor was very homely and provided high quality meals. Staff very hospitably. Neighbouring towns and places of interest easy access by car.

We enjoyed our stay, this is the first time we have stayed at a hotel with communal kitchen, at first I was hesitant, but pleasantly surprised. Staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast lady was wonderful. Being able to enjoy complimentary breakfast each morning was a bonus. The room was nice, and I appreciate its older, but could have done with two bedside tables instead of two stools. Also in the bathroom another bench or draws would have been great as there was no where to put our toiletries. Our Meals were great and the bed was comfy. Thank you for the great stay.

This property is under renovation so there is works going on around the units, we had to change rooms as the TV had no channels the second room had 2 channels. We stayed 2 nights Saturday and Sunday and ate in the hotel both nights which was great food but on the Sunday we got charged 10% surcharge which is very steep especially as we were guests at the hotel. Breakfast included which was nice.

Very nice, with friendly staff, good kitchen, bottle and nice old pub atmosphere. Was so nice after three weeks in a work van.

Old school hotel with a modern twist. Comfortable bed and great meals served in the bar. Wi fi was not good in the room but okay in the guest lounge. No fridge or coffee facilities in the room but was available in the guest lounge.

Leaking air conditioner in living room. Staff did nothing after notifying them. We had to live with putting containers under the dripping water. No laundry facilities as well.

Loved the open fire in the lounge upstairs.

We stayed for 2 nights at this lovely Art Deco era hotel. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there are definitely a few things that could use improvement. First the pros: - Perfect quiet hotel in the perfect location right across from the water. If you're looking for somewhere to just get away and relax this place is it. - The food. OMG, so good. The chef there I hope is paid VERY well. The duck fat wedges were heaven. I also ordered a Fillet (tenderloin) steak that I can say without a doubt is probably one of the best steaks I've had in my life. Seriously, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. If ever there is a reason to come back to this hotel, this would be it. . - The staff. All were wonderful, attentive and friendly. The Cons: We stayed in what they called the family room. - Bathroom was extremely small and in dire need of a renovation. The shower was unusable as the shower door was so tiny and opened right where the taps were. I'm a medium build guy and couldn't get in it. Upon our arrival, it looked like the toilet had been left uncleaned from the last guests as a few "gifts" were left behind. Was this an oversight by housekeeping? Perhaps. - No fans or modern a/c (there was a heater from what looked like the 70's). Luckily our stay was in the lower 20's. Can only imagine how unbearable this would be in the 30's. - A bar fridge would have been VERY welcomed. Overall would recommend this hotel as the pros outweigh the cons.

Clean and friendly

We spent three pleasant nights at the Kermandie while catching up with friends. We stayed in a motel style room adjacent to the hotel, which was quite spacious with a small kitchenette and adequate bathroom. It was clean, but not immaculately so, with a few stray hairs lingering in the shower. The basic breakfast was perfect for our needs and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall we would certainly stay again should the need arise.

Fantastic old building with original features and charm. Has super decor and feels very clean and well kept. We would visit again. Recommend the granola with warmed fruit for breakfast...beautiful!

Lovely stay, nice people to deal with, very friendly. Great accommodation with plenty of room. Only problem was a constantly leaking tap in the bathroom & a shower head that kept falling down during a shower.

Good view, clean and quiet

Realy nice and clean property. The staff were lovely who checked us in and served us for dinner. We chose the location as it was a convenient overnight stop on our way to the mountains. The added bonus was the Kermandie Hotel also having the restaurant and bar attached to it making it super easy for us to dine without having to go far. Great place for a short stay with ample room for my family.

Expensive for what's on offer. Old Plastic stools as bedside tables, broken toilet seat, tired decor and super dusty. Go for the cottages up the back as best option.

My lodge room was a great size, had all I needed and great value for money

The building is an old Hotel with a new addition, the old section retains a lot of the charm of the old style, and the New area is light spacious, and airy, with great views of the boats moored on the river The room I had was very small and I had to put my luggage in the bathroom due to no space, it was hot no aircon had to cool the room by opening a window, the mattress was a single and it sloped to one side and I had to stop myself rolling out of bed, I've paid less for rooms with better facilities and space.

Lovely room and amenities.

The included breakfast was out of this world and blew away any little niggle that might have existed like not being advised on the website that the room had no window.

Lots of character in main building. Lovely spot with a couple of nice walks nearby. We had a room in a seperate building which was renovated and very comfortable. Busy restaurant with good meals. Staff may have been stressed as it was busy, not very friendly or attentive.

I stayed at the Kermandie when my mother became ill and I wasn't sure how long I would need to be in Tasmania. Stephen and his staff were incredibly helpful, flexible and considerate. The room was cosy and warm, the food in the bar was outstanding, and I couldn't fault anything. I felt like nothing was too much trih let for them. When I next go down to the Huon Valley I will stay there again.

Great staff, everyone was very welcoming and helpful, special thanks to Sam. Comfortable, spacious rooms. Dinners and breakfasts were great! I would definitely recommend a stay at the Kermandie Hotel

Step back in time into an older style pub/accommodation. The room was large (a little dark)and bed comfortable. There was a large and light communal lounge room upstairs were you could make a cuppa and heat up something to eat. The art deco lounge and restaurant below were tastefully done. Food in the restaurants were good. A good spot to base yourself to explore the area.

Can’t believe this place wasn’t packed out for Christmas. We had Christmas lunch there and the bistro food is superb. It’s a shame there aren’t any dedicated accommodation staff but everyone else at the hotel are wonderful. Highly recommend this place for Christmas Day, especially but it should be booked out every day.
