The Hampton Inn Champaign Southwest is a very nice place. It's quiet and off the beaten track. The interior is modern and very similar to Home2Suites. The bed is extremely comfortable and the heating/cooling unit has a wall thermostat. When I checked in, I was told the amount being charged to my card was higher than my reservation amount. When I inquired why, I was told they added $50 for incidentals which would be refunded. I would have liked to have the explanation before being told the amount I was being charged. When I asked about luggage carts, I was told they were around the corner from the fire sign. The fire sign was not a sign but a fire alarm. The word fire on it was so small that I could not read it from the front desk. Today I found out that 4 quarts of strawberries I had in my mini-fridge had frozen. I looked and the refrigerator was set very close to Max. This is very disappointing because I brought these strawberries from Southern Illinois for friends here. Now I have to throw them out. The swimming pool is not in operation. I have not asked why. My shower stall can use a little re-caulking. I tried to get a cup of decaf coffee in the afternoon and it was not hot. I expected that. I would say the major things about this place are very good and the devil is in the details. Staff training can definitely be better.

Stop on the way to Wisconsin. Very nice and cozy. Great gym, wonderful breakfast, and very nice rooms. Definitely will study again on next trip!

Unfortunately, I think we came on a bad day. The hotel was so short staffed that the first room we were given actually already had someone in it. The front desk person had to run up to actually check to see if there was a clean unoccupied room. Once she found one. We were able to check in but unfortunately it was only half cleaned. The bathroom had not been cleaned from the previous guests there were old shampoo bottles, trash and hair left behind. It was late and our kids were tired so instead of waiting on another room. They brought up Lysol wipes and I did a quick clean of the bathroom myself and put out the trash and asked for new shampoo/conditioner. I think the staff was doing their best, but I’ve never quite had anc experience like that. It was just an unfortunate experience all around.

This hotel was just ok. It was convenient to where I needed to be in town so chose it and could possibly stay there again because of that fact only. Was completely disappointed that the housekeeping staff approved our room as ready for a guest. We got in late so I didn’t even check, but getting up in AM to shower and realized we had NO towels! How does that happen? They don’t deliver, so had to go to lobby and get for myself. Also, the shower had black mold…again how can that happen in a world of bleach products for cleaning? Shower pan was dirty like it never gets a good scrub. Hotel is on the newer end, 5 years old, so I would expect much better condition. Hoping small things like this will be addressed so if I need to stay again it will be a better experience. I’m Hilton Honors so stay in plenty, and expect better.

I liked the location. It was close to the university. I didn’t like my room because when taking a shower the bathtub would not drain. I found myself standing in 2-3 inches of water the first day while showering and almost a full tub of water the next day while showering. Routine maintenance should catch drain clogs.

Night and day I stayed at the one in Champaign Illinois across town when I cam in at the beginning of the week for two days! That hotel same company compared to this one was so dirty I was I would have known about this location so clean and new!!!

The place was clean and seemed like it was new or freshly remodeled. One problem and kinda a big one, the walls seemed paper thin. We could hear everything above us below us next to us and in the hallway very clearly which made it hard to sleep.

Easy on/off the interstate. Property is spacious, clean, and seems to be new. There is a gas station nearby with a car wash. Enjoyed having lunch at The Poke Bowl across the front parking lot (great restaurant, FRESH ahi tuna!). Breakfast foods were varied and better than many free hotel breakfasts. Check-in was quick and Shiloh was very kind, which I appreciated after 9 hours of driving.

Staff was amazing from check in to check out. I missed getting the front desk clerks name seemed to work the entire weekend - but she was so nice and helpful. Darnell who worked in the breakfast area was on top of everything, so helpful, and a joy to see every morning.

It was a great stay, a friend of mine had car trouble and the front desk agent Amanda was very nice and helpful, will definitely stay here again, Amanda is the best front desk agent to deal with. Would definitely recommend staying here

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and each time there is some issue. The only reason I continue to book is because of the HILTON name, but after this last stay I can not continue to patronize this hotel. Each time the manager is completely unavailable even though she is onsite.

We were in town for a baseball tournament and were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness of this hotel. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was as expected with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and waffles along with assorted fresh fruits, breads, pastries and muffins, oatmeal and cereal. Staff was friendly and quick to respond to requests.

Brand new building. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and the beds were VERY comfortable. Downside was no regular coffee in our room only paper cups. No glasses in the bathroom. Breakfast was okay if you love carbs and sugar, not so great if you want more than apples and tired oranges for you fruit choices.
