The property is under renovation that we were not aware of. There is no bathroom in the lobby, which is inconvenient. The bar management is terrible. The person works at the bar cannot not mix drinks, but they charged full amount even we told them the drain was not right. The breakfast area has no windows, absolutely terrible. if a property is under renovation, we should know this before we make reservation.

The hotel has valet parking but there’s a parking garage across the street that is slightly cheaper – although still rather pricey. The room was rather good, pretty spacious with a nice bathroom and shower, but the view could’ve been better. My only issue with the hotel is with the restaurant – there was only one waiter who was doubling as cook. We waited 90 minutes to be served a mediocre “a la carte” breakfast. If you need to stay near the North Loop, this is definitely a good and accessible hotel, but I would have breakfast at one of the many close by restaurants.

Great experience. Clean, spacious room, easy access to the sights. I was dissapointed to discover the food service was closed before 9:20 pm, when I was told at check in and all posted signs said open until 10 pm. I could have gone earlier if communication has been more accurate.

Hotel location is great, with waking distance to multiple tourist spots. I stayed there for the marathon and the location is perfect to get to the start line. The overall condition of the room was really good and the bed very comfortable. The things that are not ideal: for the price paid it was very frustrating to find that you need to pay for water (unless you have some status with Hilton); the towels are so small that I thought there were kids size; the hotel has only 2 lifts to serve 25 floors; sound insulation is terrible, you can hear any noise coming from the street, I'm glad I took earplugs with me otherwise it would be difficult to sleep at night.

Very nice place to stay. Bad part is breakfast wasn't included and is $25 a person, so we didn't eat there. Also no free parking. Cost us an extra $420 for parking!!!

This was a great value and a great experience with on exception- the so called restaurant, which was open sometimes, closed sometimes, closed when they said it was open sometimes. Very erratic, so when we were counting on getting a quick breakfast before heading out for the day, we could not rely on the service at all. There was one instance where there wasn't even any coffee available in the morning. Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful, the facility top notch.

Hotel was under construction so there were some minor inconveniences like no ice machine. Staff was great and got us in early. Room was comfortable but missing full-length mirror (big pet peeve). Also the bed frames are at that height where you always bump your shin. Elevators are very slow. But good bed, clean, modern.

This hotel is in a nice location for a quick weekend trip - it’s on the Riverwalk and Michigan Avenue, which were the two areas that I accessed during my time there. Everything worked out. The room was generous. The amenities very good (had microwave), clean & quiet. I was there for a 12 day stay but mid-way I became very sick, so spent 5 days in the room. It was very comforting - extra chairs to relax in, a desk, king bed. Temp. control worked well. Windows opened, if needed. Shower very good. I had't planed to stay inside as much, but when I needed to, it was a relief to have a nice place to recuperate. Only small negative was weak wifi.

Plenty of options to walk to for food and drinks. Relatively affordable considering it’s downtown Chicago. Room was on the small side, beds weren’t very comfortable and I highly recommend bringing your own pillow as the pillows felt like some some stuffed two t-shirts in a pillow case, paper thin. All in all not horrible if you are looking for a relatively affordable stay in Downtown Chicago

Location is amazing. Room was clean but the bed was a little creaky (noisy) on one side so maybe it was older? HVAC unit was a little on the noisy side. But room was very clean and appointed well. Might be nice to have some tea options in addition to coffee.

This hotel has a perfect location and it's really close to public transportation options. Our room was spacious, with lot of drawers and a closet with several hangers. The view is great as well. Room controlled temperature was great during the very cold days we stayed, including in the bathroom. We didn't use the breakfast service, but the restaurant area looked beautiful and clean. The luggage storage service was great, we really appreciated it.

Super clean and staff were very attentive. The location was the best thing about this stay. However, I’m surprised none of the reviews talked about how thin the walls/windows are. We stayed on the 4th floor and we were able to hear everything that was going on outside (sirens, people yelling). So if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to consider another place to stay.

All the staff were extremely friendly and polite. Monica in the front desk was awesome at check in and i had spoken to her several times on the phone prior to our arrival too. Would recommend staying here.

I visited Chicago the weekend with all the computer issues, needless to say it was a trying weekend! Of all the companies that had issues Hilton was the absolutely worst! The staff was very rude, we were unable to get key cards to get in and out of our rooms and the staff had to let us in the rooms. The staff never asked for any verification that it was my room just wanted to know what room they had to open. After 2 days I requested to speak with a manager since none of the other hotels seemed to still be experiencing an issue the clerk got extremely rude. I did speak with the manager and was told that I was lucky they even let us check in and that they could have just said with the issue they aren’t taking any new guest. After the experience I had I will NEVER stay at another Hilton.

This is what hospitality should be, every time. My wife and I met at this hotel and returned on our wedding night. The staff remembered us and made such a big deal about our big day and that we’d chosen to return to celebrate where it all began. They went above and beyond the first time, and last night they made that service week dull and unremarkable. 100% recommend this property

Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was a good experience! Location The greatest thing about this hotel was the location - it was central to Michigan Ave, the Riverwalk, Navy Pier, and all of the notable parks and sites (Millineum Park, "The Bean", Maggie Daley Park, Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain). All are well within close proximity and walking distance!

Location was great! It was within walking distance of all major attractions and the train system. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was efficient and polite. Our biggest complaimt is the street noise. We were on the 15th floor but could hear the street noise day and night so if you are a light-sleeper, I would not recommend this hotel. Fortunately, the noise was not that big of a deal for us.

Couldnt find a better location than this. We found being next to a major subway connection, the Riverwalk, MagMile and Millennium Park gave us plenty to do. Our room was clean and updated. Bed and bedding were super cozy. The street noise is pretty loud, but that is expected for downtown. The breakfast in the hotel is pretty bad. The sausage tasted like microwaved sawdust, everything was rubbery, the coffee was subpar. Thankfully, there are a ton of options around. Service from the staff was kind and prompt.

Great location, nice facilities but badly let down by poor catering. Pleasant staff did their best under trying circumstances. Suspect something had gone seriously wrong with supplies and/ or staff rotas. - Inadequate supplies - Understaffed: - No chicken or salmon for advertised Caesar salad the evening of our arrival - No butter or jam for breakfasts throughout our 3 night stay - No complimentary breakfast coffee on the last day

The HGI is only a few short blocks away from a Red or Blue line eL stop and within walking distance of the Chicago Riverwalk. It also faces Morton's Steakhouse. They serve breakfast, but it is not complimentary.

Even though my Expedia booking wasn't visible at the reception, the staff members were accommodating and efficient. Buffet breakfast was excellent with many choices. One of the best with Hilton chain. A server at breakfast, Neomi (Naomi?), was especially applaudable for her hardworking to keep the busy breakfast site run smoothly and to make everyone accommodated. Bravo to Neomi!

Location is excellent and so many things were within walking distance - we loved that! Property is nice; although we had a room in the front and there are a lot of sirens at night. Maybe a room in the back would be quieter. The hotel does have a bar and restaurant. We did not use the bar; had breakfast at the restaurant. Service was quite slow. Food was Okay.
