Saddle & Surrey Motel

Staff was friendly and accommodated our very late arrival. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Clean room. Older hotel with small bathrooms but very clean. Convenient to where we were going.

Clean basic room.

It is fine if you are looking for bargain basement accommodations, just a bit tired.

Although our room (No. 23 - 2 queen beds with kitchen) was spacious and peaceful with comfortable beds, it was poor in many other respects. First of all there were a number of outstanding maintenance issues - e.g non working lights, a partially broken gas hob and kitchen tap spraying water. We alerted management to all of these shortcomings on our departure (see photo) in the hope that they would be addressed ahead of the next guests occupying that room. More generally, the room and its furnishings were tired and would benefit from upgrading - eg stained carpet, old curtains, pillows without protector covers. Finally the room was not clean - e.g. the kitchen floor was dirty, the cutlery drawer was dirty. This was the worst accommodation by a significant margin that we encountered during our 4+ week road trip in which we stayed in 11 different properties.
