Royal Harbour Resort

Resort is showing its age. Efficiency unit we occupied needs major renovations. It was dirty and full of flies on check-in. Had to purchase Raid as fly swatter was the only solution offered by front desk. Water in both hot tub and pool was murky. A leak in lobby ceiling was dripping onto chairs. Have been to this resort many times, but this visit was a disappointment.

Your pool heater has been broken since our last stay in October 2024 - now March 2025 - you should make note that the pool is not swimmable at that temperature; also tried to sleep in Friday (room 204) but with all the construction grinding etc was impossible. Been coming to your resort 2-3 weeks a year for over 10yrs and really expect better.

A well equipped unit overlooking the harbour. There are good restaurants and parks nearby walking distance. Shopping is also close. The units are dated but clean and very spacious. The property has a nice indoor pool

conveniently located. Wonderful walking areas. The property is looking aged. No evidence of any updates. Exercise equipment needs to be replaced.

Awesome spot if you’re in the area. Can easily access the blue mountain resorts from here. Can’t beat the price, for access to a surprisingly nice pool, sauna, gym and hot tub and very spacious, well furnished rooms, this is the best bang for your buck. View is also really nice overlooking the water/harbour.

Given the cost per night, and not holding the age of the building against it, our room had several areas that were dirty including closets and visible rust/dirt/stains on the walls. We booked this place for the pool, and it was intentionally set at a temperature that was so cold that no one stayed in for more than a minute (our family or any of the others we saw dip their toe and then leave). Really unfortunate with young children that we cannot use the pool facilities.

Clean large unit right on water and easy parking kitchen was equipped with everything and more front deak staff was nice n helpful the area had many restaurants walkable with 10 mins only draw back was pool was not heated as they said it was in description so we were unable to use

The hotel is right across from yacht harbour. Property offers indoor pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, bbq’s, fitness rooms overlooking waterfront. Sweet girl at front desk. Bed mattress comfortable. Good kitchen amenities. However we were on the bottom floor and I use a cane, and the unit had serveral sets of steps INSIDE of it, including down into the bed area. The sizeable unit , was long and narrow with the bathroom right to the side at the entrance and the sleeping area by the sliding glass doors on the opposite end. You had to leave a light on so not to hurt yourself going to the bathroom tripping on the stairs during the night. I am guess these interior stair issues were just on bottom level to accommodate building being built into the hill. There are no elevators so there are only stairs for the upper levels. Would definitely go back if they could solve accessibility issues. Problem for me, and also my sister who’s family was staying on same level as us, Gorgeous area , great town.

Great room pool was cold but we were told upon arrival

15 minutes away from Blue Mountain Village but the area is lovely. Our view was directly across the lake. The pool was salted water, also had a jacuzzi and a sauna room. What an amazing resort! The front staff were extremely kind. 5 stars

The quiet area and views from this place are what saves it in my opinion. This “resort” is very tired and rundown in many areas. I’m not normally too picky about the specific look of things when I travel, but the reality is, things are falling apart at this place and if definitely all needs a good update. Peeling wallpaper, filthy rug, missing paint, water dripping onto the outside sitting area outside our room, filthy ceiling fan, tub and accessories old and rusty, a broken mirror that had been semi fixed at one point….. the list goes on. I will say that for the most part we enjoyed our stay but it was hard to look past these many fixable things. We would consider staying again if updates were made and things were much more clean.

It is an older property, the suite was large with full kitchen, main issue was that our room smelled strongly of old cigarettes. It was clearly a smoking room for many years and there’s no way to remedy the odor other than complete renovation. I was surprised that when I brought up this concern on checkout no offer of a rate reduction or other compensation was offered. Just make sure when booking that you ask for a room that was never a smoking room.

I loved that my room was facing the bay. I woke to crashing waves after a storm. I had a patio door which was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and linen were exquisite!! I liked the full kitchen, very much. It was very, very quiet. Beautiful big pool was warm and the hot tub was hot and soothing. I wish there had been lighting going from the parking lot down to the far end room entrance , there were several stairs to decline and no light there. That was unsafe in the evening after dark. I couldnt see if someone was in that area and a fall would be quite easy to happen. The wifi continously drop; unfortunately. It does reconnect fairly easily. The room was moderately clean. More attention to the floors and the surfaces would have been appreciated. If the property owners could find a way to stop the exit door from slamming aggressively each time someone leaves, this would be a big improvement.

Excellent. Immaculately clean. Helpful and cooperative staff. Unfortunately the rain spoilt some of our outdoor activities! Excellent TV reception filled our day!

The property is located in a beautiful quaint area over looking the marina. The view is gorgeous. There is a beach across the street. Bring your water shoes as it’s a rock beach. The rooms are somewhat clean but can definitely use an upgrade. The resort itself is very outdated. Staff is friendly.

The place is very old , room was dirty we found an old sock on the floor, the mirror of the closest was broken fixed with silver tape, People at the front not very friendly.NOT RECOMMENDED

the property is right beside the beach which is convenient. it was fairly clean. when I opened the extra bag of comforters, there was blood on the blanket which was disgusting. other than that it was good for the price

The staff are fantastic!!! It was a great hidden gem. Only thing I’d change is the rust around the hair products in the shower and the hand soap by the sink. Brought it down a bit but honestly the space overall was exceptionally clean! Thank you!

Staff was attentive and made my room available ahead of check-in time. The room is surprisingly large, feeling like a proper apartment with a sleeping area, living room area and kitchen with space to sit down and enjoy a meal.

The main street,restaurants, shops, walking trails, river and fish ladder are all within walking distance so no need to drive and park elsewhere. The town is quiet and peaceful as is the harbour. The rooms are very large with full kitchen and dining table as well as sitting area with sofas. There is a large deck with patio tables and lounge chairs over looking the boats in the harbour. The property itself is a bit tired looking and could use some doors replaced, but it is clean.

The place was nice and the location great. The room seemed a bit tired and needed some updating. A bigger TV with Netflix would have been an improvement too. It was nice and quiet and the bed was good.

The property was spacious, clean and everything was nice as what i saw in the pictures. The only problem was poor WiFi signal inside the room. Since the phone network was slow, it was really hard to deal with slow WiFi. The TV was old, not the smart one, no casting options.

The staff were all very helpful. The place is clean. The property and room is a bit tired looking. Need a face-lift. It would be great to have a litte cafeteria. Even a vending machine would have been nice. The shower water pressure is poor. The internet is not strong. TV shows are lagging.

Room is getting slightly outdated, ir in need of repair, as is rest of building. Location is true selling point. Down sides our room sliding door was broke. So couldn't access outdoor space. Also steps everywhere & heavy hard doors to open. Not great for any mobility issues.

Older hotel but clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the lake.

we went in a group of 5 people and checked in at 7:40pm on Thursday 5th January 2023. We felt that the receptionist's attitude was extremely rude. She had white hair and that day there was another orange-haired woman. When we checked in, her attitude seemed to not want to serve us. And we booked a room for 4 people, but we had another friend came with us unexpectedly so it’s 5 people total. We consulted her (white-haired women) if it is possible to rent another room or rent it and pay extra. She seemed very annoyed and looked at us with tired eyes even though we didn't bother them at all. And I don't understand why as a manager of this area, they don't receive training when they work or how many years she has worked without knowing how to fix such a simple problem. She made us wait for more than 20 minutes just to talk to her manager instead of just giving us another room which she gave us after that anyway. When talking to the manager, she said we were a GROUP of STUDENTS. We are Asian, we may look younger than our age, but we are all over 25 years old and are responsible for all our actions. She tried to say it out loud for us to hear, and she talked for a long time and made us wait longer. We were then asked to pay an extra $100 for the same room but we accepted because it was our fault. Although the place is very comfortable, their attitude was really bad from the moment we walked in.

Nice, secure neighborhood and plenty of parking spaces. Staffs are eager to help. Manager is kind enough to accommodate late checkout for us. Very much appreciated. Will visit again soon

Property was little dirty, there should be better lighting at the Bbq area & then picnic table was broken. But the young lady that was working was absolutely great the other older 1 could be little friendlier bt the young lady was so great to deal with talk with everything.

Our suite at the Royal Harbour Resort was great. Lovely views over the water. And it was large and well appointed. However—and this is significant—the check in process was nightmarish! We were driving from near Kingston and had to leave later than expected through circumstances beyond our control. I called before we left because I knew we would be late arriving. I was told no problem, there’s someone on the desk till 11:30. Then, weather and traffic made us even later and I called again to say we would be arriving close to 11:30. Again I was told, there is no problem. If you arrive after 11:30 there are numbers posted to call and get instructions. We arrive right at 11:30. No one there. Call first displayed number. Crickets. Call the second number. Crickets. Leave messages, wait for a call back. NOTHING. Keep calling. No one ever answers. Eventually we have to leave, drive back to Collingwood, where we have to pay for another night at a more expensive hotel. My two sons were with us, and I kept thinking, what if our kids were little? We were in the area to meet up old friends and go skiing. I was so angry I barely slept. While the matter was eventually resolved with a refund, plus additional compensation for the extra we had to pay at the other hotel, at no point did I receive a phone call from either of the numbers I had been calling the night before. I’m not convinced my messages were even listened to. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. The bosses, obviously not!

We went to this property frequently because location is great. However service is getting worst every time. No cleaning or any visit to our studio for 4 days. We did clean studio every day and feel that in any other hotel or even motel room service will exist. Two ladies are at the front desk every day but no good customer service. Studios need upgrade.

We booked a two bedroom and got into the room - checked in at 4:30 when checkin start was 4, got to the room and there was no heat in the 2nd bedroom. We went to front desk - there were 2 girls there and they offered to change our room. however we had already unpacked everything so we declined and my kid slept on the floor infront of the fireplace. The next morning we went to the front desk and they said well they should have offered you a space heater. I was like what you have space heaters and she said I’ll talk to the workers and let them know. And told me I should have asked for it. No offer of a discount or any compensation for this inconvenience which was completely their fault. The manager also suggested if we stay there again we should call ahead and ask them to make sure the heating/cooling system works in the room. We had asked for a late checkout as checkout is 11 and were told no they don’t give late checkouts. Because they are smaller run business they can’t ask the housekeepers to change their routine. Terrible service. I left an item in the bed expecting that ‘because they were a smaller run business as the manager advised, I would get it back but no, they have ‘not’ been able to locate the item. I do not believe this.

Liked the view and the room. Nice setup with the beach, peir and downtown close by. The suite a little dated but roomy and well stocked with cookware. Cutting board was gross, returned it to front desk and they didn't bring me a clean one like they said thy would. Could use a rocking chair in the suite. Cushions and couches frumpy And dated. Over all enjoyed our stay

This was an excellent stay. We were in town for an overnight due to a meeting, but were very favourably impressed with the room and the amenities. I† was within easy walking distance of the main street. The room was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.

Beautiful, fully furnished loft, right across the street from the beach, small harbor. The staff are friendly and serviceable. Wife is vegan so fully furnished kitchen was great, wi-fi and tv, living room with sofa-bed. Bigger 2 room accommodations available.

Very nice. Clean and comfortable. Great location: harbour and lake right across the street, easy bike access to Collingwood-Meaford Rail Trail, short walk to restaurants and cafes. Nice pool and hot tub. Friendly front desk staff.
