Ornate, clean riad in a great location. On the edge of the medina so you can take a car to the front door and still easily access all the main sights (as opposed to riads within the pedestrian-only medina). Siham and Aziz were amazing for restaurant recs, organizing a car to Chefchaouen, and anything else we needed.

Mazar is a wonderful Riad. It’s stunning inside, with clean and comfortable beds. The staff is fantastic: warm hospitality, expert recommendations, and delicious breakfast. The Riad is at the edge of the Medina, so it’s close to the windy madness of the shouks but close to taxis and transport to other parts of Fez. Would absolutely stay there again.

The riad was beautiful and clean. The rooms were beautiful decorated and very comfortable. The staff were attentive (especially Siham) and helped with any requests we had that included arranging pickup and drop off to the train station as well as arranging a guide to walk us through the Medina. It also had an elevator which was a lovely feature.

The Riad is on the edge of the Medina so easy to get to, no tiny, narrow streets to get lost! It’s close to the Blue Gate so very convenient for sights. The interior is beautiful, a lovely example of Moroccan architecture. The rooms were very comfortable and had AC which was crucial as it was so hot, 40+°C. The common area can get quite warm but that’s not where we spent the most of our time. There are two comfortable alcoves for lounging though and there are fans. Honestly only an issue heat. Siham is an absolute gem! She organized our transfers from the train station and then back to the airport, as well as a private guide for a day of walking around the Medina. She also offered the option of a meal on our first night. It was amazing, so many delicious flavours, but also so much food. Breakfast was a variety of Moroccan baked goods, fruit, eggs, fresh orange juice and coffee. Each day was a little different.

EVERYthing about this property was perfect! The staff was amazing and so friendly and helpful The space is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous vintage carvings and art work. The atmosphere is so relaxing and everyone made us feel like we were cherished guests. The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. We will definitely stay here again. Even though it is located in the Medina, there is easy access with a car or taxi.

This hotel was wonderful - beautiful inside, clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were great. The staff was friendly and helpful and Siham was extremely helpful with tours and find a vehicle and driver for us to go from Fes to desert to Marrakech.

This is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in in all my years of traveling. (I don’t stay at 5 star Four Seasons type places fyi) It is absolutely beautiful (please see pictures) Service, especially SIham, was exceptional. The breakfasts served in the gorgeous courtyard were great. It is easily located to the medina and walking distance to the main tourist sites in old Fez. The beds we’re comfortable, and the rooms gorgeous. Daily housekeeping. Highly highly recommend staying here.

I had the most amazing time! The Riad was lovingly restored with great attention to every detail from the cedar and plaster to the zelige and artwork. The staff is warm and inviting and helpful. The common areas and rooms are meticulously clean. The breakfast was delicious and made fresh in the Riad kitchen. The tour guides they recommended were top notch. This may have been the finest Riad/hotel in which I’ve had the pleasure of staying. A big thank you to everyone working there. I appreciated all your efforts to ensure my stay was pleasant.

The breakfast is delicious, a typical Moroccan breakfast, super complete and freshly made. The two ladies at the reception are lovely and super attentive. Since it was our first time in Fez, they recommended the best places and helped us find a good guide to visit the old medina. We would definitely come back, and we will.

Riad Mazar Fes is an oasis of calm and incredible beauty. The owner Hamid and staff were so kind and welcoming, giving us a tour of the exquisite palace (that’s honestly what it feels like) upon arrival, serving us delicious mint tea and breakfasts, and making helpful recommendations. We also dined in the Riad our first night and it was the best meal we’d had in Morocco. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet and every bit as beautifully, intricately decorated as the courtyards. We loved waking up in the mornings to the gentle sounds of water in the fountain in the courtyard below. I don’t know if the photos of this place could ever do justice to how beautiful it is. Thank you to everyone at Riad Mazar for your genuine kindness and hospitality. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was very helpful and supportive. Outstanding property maintenance and decor with antiques and lovely locally made objects. Only drawback was a small bed that was not very comfortable. Rest of Riad was luxurious.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Mazar in Fes. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us with our bags to and from the taxi, which was such a thoughtful touch. The building itself is absolutely stunning and has been beautifully renovated. Our room was spacious and elegantly decorated, making it a lovely retreat after exploring. The highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast – everything was homemade and traditional, truly a feast to start the day. It’s the perfect spot to unwind from the hustle and bustle of Fes’s lively medina. Highly recommended!

The owner and his staff are excellent and their hospitality was amazing. We loved the traditional rooms and the decor. The customized breakfast they served was so tasty and fresh! We enjoyed our stay there. The only con I can think of is their bathroom issues. The bathroom itself is tiny, which is not a big deal, but the plumbing is a bit weird. It would help if they could update and improve their plumbing system. But overall it is worth staying at Riad Mazar Fes!

The riad itself is beautiful and the room was lovely. Siham met us outside of the medina to help us locate the riad and even helped us parallel park in a very complicated and tiny spot. We are decently well travelled and know that we prefer forgoing tours and figuring out how to navigate cities on our own, and were very disappointed when Siham did not give us a choice to do this. When we asked for recommendations the only thing she advised us to do was to pay for tour guides to bring us to specific locations and show us around. This would work for many travelers but it did not appeal to us and Siham's repeated pressure made us feel like we were just fighting her for most of our visit. If she had seen that we preferred to go at things alone and advised us on the best way to do that, we would have had a significantly better stay and probably enjoyed the city a lot more. If you are a traveller like us, we definitely recommend downloads maps.me for Fes, as Google Maps doesn't work and makes navigating really difficult!

Great stay! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They helped with tours, airport shuttle at 4:30 in the morning, and even lent us an adapter as we left ours in a previous Riad. Although they don’t have a full restaurant, they do provide a lovely breakfast. Would recommend!

The service was truly outstanding. We were contacted the day before our arrival. And they told us where to park. We also got great tips for our stay in Fes. Breakfast was really good and plentyful. Great hospitality and conviniently located. We also got a private tour which was excellent

This was by far the best Riad we stayed in our entire 2 week trip. Siham went above and beyond helping us sort out our tours and change bookings. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. My uncle has mobility issues so it was nice that the taxi could drop us off right at the door. Once you enter it is a stunning work of art for decor. Don’t forget to check out the new part with the pool! It is a short walk to the blue gate and once you sort one the Medina it’s even shorter coming in the back way. I would give this Riad 10 stars if I could and wish we could have stayed longer!

Ornate, clean riad in a great location. On the edge of the medina so you can take a car to the front door and still easily access all the main sights (as opposed to riads within the pedestrian-only medina). Siham and Aziz were amazing for restaurant recs, organizing a car to Chefchaouen, and anything else we needed.

We are reasonably well travelled people and we can say that we are officially in love with Morocco and with Fez. We have never been so impressed by a place to stay as we were with Riad Mazar Fez. The location is ideal as it is close to the Blue Gate and Medina, the building is stunningly beautiful and the tastefully decorated rooms have all the conveniences that one needs. But most of all, it’s the people running this place who make it so special. A big Thankyou to Mr Khalid, Ms Weeham, Mr Yasin, and all the staff for making our stay here truly memorable. The breakfast was so delicious and we felt right at home. We can’t wait to be back!!!

Close to the Medina - 10 minute walk. Very welcoming staff who greeted us warmly and were very obliging in arranging tours and cars. Lovely Riad is beautifully decorated. Room was large enough, bed was comfortable. I’d go back.

After traveling thru Morocco for two weeks, I can easily endorse this Riad as my favorite. Stayed in 5 others and this is by far my favorite. Lovely helpful staff, rooms well cared for, staff helpful in all ways, and the main courtyard is beautiful, peaceful and a lovely setting for a rest and a fabulous nutritious breakfast. It is very private and walkable to many shops and restaurants. Like all Riads in the Medinas they are safe and walkable but know taxis and cars are not allowed. Our driver was able to drive to the Riad to pick us up but check this out. Truly a gem representative of kind hospitality.

My stay at Riad Mazar was absolutely wonderful. The hotel and rooms are stunningly beautiful and the breakfast was top notch. I had their optional dinner my 2nd night and it was my best meal in Morocco. When a separately booked guide failed to show up, the staff graciously found me another guide for the day. I would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in multiple riads throughout Morocco and this is far and above the best one. Not only is the physical space magnificent but the staff literally treat guests like royalty. My partner and I have traveled all over the world and neither of us has ever been treated so well. Furthermore, the dinner was phenomenal and is probably the best food we've had in Morocco w/ absolutely massive portions that look like something from Man vs. Food. If you travel to the amazing city of Fes, you'd be making a mistake not to lodge here. I promise you will love it!

Riad Mazar Fes is an oasis of calm and incredible beauty. The owner Hamid and staff were so kind and welcoming, giving us a tour of the exquisite palace (that’s honestly what it feels like) upon arrival, serving us delicious mint tea and breakfasts, and making helpful recommendations. We also dined in the Riad our first night and it was the best meal we’d had in Morocco. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet and every bit as beautifully, intricately decorated as the courtyards. We loved waking up in the mornings to the gentle sounds of water in the fountain in the courtyard below. I don’t know if the photos of this place could ever do justice to how beautiful it is. Thank you to everyone at Riad Mazar for your genuine kindness and hospitality. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The owner greeted us and excited explained the art and craftsmanship that went into the Riad. We received a full tour and explanation on the cultural aspects of a riad. They booked a guide for the next morning on the spot, who was fabulous. Breakfast was served each morning, you could tell it was all homemade, with love and care. It was by far one of the best breakfasts we have ever had, they were even able to accommodate an allergy my wife has. We felt like family from the minute we walked in until the moment we checked out. Please stop looking for a place to stay and decide to make Riad Mazar your home too.

Absolutely wonderful, spectacularly restored and modernized traditional riad in the Medina. Omar is super nice and multilingual. The owner was very interesting to speak with and super nice, as well. We were just amazed by the detailed, beautiful restoration work (and original tiling) that was done in this riad. They are rightfully proud of it.
