Had an amazing time, Great accommodations and Breakfast was great also, My wife really like the Coffee. Host were very helpful and provided brochures and advice on attractions in the area. We stayed in the 3rd floor, so had two flights of stairs but we did not mind that. Had access to an outside balcony which we enjoyed sitting outside and hearing the birds and looking at the nice view out to the bay. Landscape was also very nice. This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the sound of traffic and just enjoy nature. Cleanliness of the place got an A++ from my wife and that is no easy feat.

We enjoyed staying in our charming, comfortable and spacious room. Also, we loved relaxing on the balcony and looking out at the pretty view. Ross and Ruthann were wonderful hosts. Breakfast was delicious.

Ross and Ruthanne were wonderful. Breakfast was perfect. Grounds were so beautiful Loved the balcony. Last night relaxing, morning coffee ( thank u Ross) and breakfast on the balcony… all perfect. Relaxing. Only thing to make it extraordinary would be like a wine tasting and sweets or something in the evening to enjoy outside, on balcony etc??!! Thank u again for a wonderful visit

Ross greeted us right away and showed us to our cottage. Cute little place in a quiet area with a beautiful view and gardens. Ross was personable and friendly, walking us through the cottage and showing us where everything was. It was a great beginning to our stay!

Was a very nice place. Room was clean and comfortable. Had plenty of places both inside and outside to sit and relax, though I didn't make use of any outside places due to allergies. Breakfast wasn't overly large, which I appreciated as someone that doesn't always eat breakfast to begin with. They were even kind enough to give me breakfast slightly earlier than their usual time frame so I could make my early boat and still enjoy the food.

We were able to relax in this beautiful setting. Our room was decorated beautifully, the place was spotless, and the breakfast was delicious. Our hosts were exceptionally kind and accommodating towards us when we were delayed unexpectedly. Thank you ! We enjoyed walking about the well kept gardens.

This was a great stay. The care we felt from the hosts was first rate all the way. It was super clean and super comfortable bed. It felt so special being served a great breakfast every morning on the balcony overlooking the ocean. The location to the ferry can’t be beat as it it about 5 minutes drive. We can’t recommend it enough!

My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. The property is beautiful, the surroundings are peaceful. However, I feel it’s important to share my experience to help other travelers who are considering this property No compassion - I suffered a severely sprained ankle two days prior to my arrival at this B&B, requiring an air cast. There was no ground floor room available when I contacted the B&B. I appreciated their quick response & decided to try to make it work Multiple stairs are mentioned on their website. But I did not realize the difficulty of the narrow outdoor stairss with no handrail, the polished wood stairs inside and having to walk down the hall to use the bathroom. After one night we realized we couldn’t safely stay. I shared this with the hosts the next day. Little was said apart from their caution that nothing would be available in the area on a holiday weekend. We found a beautiful suite in Victoria costing another $1000 No value or privacy if you stay in the Seaview Room. Room is small with 14” TV, no mini fridge, no ensuite. The bathroom is passed by the hosts and other guests. Balcony is shared with other guests, hosts are always around. More like a stay with parents than an anniversary. Basic breakfast that while thoughtfully prepared is more like what you could make at home. Not the elevated style of other B&Bs. You may enjoy your stay if you book the guest house room and order an elevated breakfast in

This was a very ordinary stay in what was listed as a 5 out of 5 B&B on HOTELS.com. The photos on the website were not indicative of the room we were provided. Also, we often prefer to stay in B&Bs because they offer something different from hotels, snacks with tea in the evening for example. This offered very little apart from a home cooked breakfast. We were also disappointed on the lack of a clear sea view although the house was in an attractive area. Overall, the room we stayed in was not worth the price that we paid and there are many better places to stay in the same area at a lower price per night.

Ross greeted us right away and showed us to our cottage. Cute little place in a quiet area with a beautiful view and gardens. Ross was personable and friendly, walking us through the cottage and showing us where everything was. It was a great beginning to our stay!

The owners and hosts, Ruthann & Ross, are the Best that we've ever had in all our travels. They built this beautiful house from the ground up, and are sharing their love of home, family, friendship, and all that Canada represents. We were so fortunate to share and experience the Island hospitality with them. We chose wisely, and it was a fabulous experience thanks to them.

It felt like a privilege to stay the night. The hosts made me feel like family, and the property was surrounded by beautiful gardens that provided a wonderful view. Situated on a quiet street but close to the ferry terminal made it very convenient and relaxing.

This property is beautiful inside and out. It overlooks the bay. It was very convenient to visiting the Butchart Gardens and darling town of Sydney. The home is decorated beautifully and you can enjoy the the lovely trees and flowers. Our hosts were very kind and served a delicious breakfast.

We changed our plans and made same day reservations at Belle Maison Auprès De La Mers and so glad we did. We stayed in the cottage which was adorable and had all the comforts of home including French Press coffee, books, games, Roku tv, peace and quiet. Communication was excellent. The host gave us a tour of the cottage and shared all the important things. Breakfast was delivered to us in the morning and it was excellent. This isn't a pastry left at your door, but a big made to order breakfast. We couldn't ask for a better host. The ferry was close and we ended up being able to board the ferry an hour earlier than our reservation. I definitely would stay again and strongly recommend.

Was a very nice place. Room was clean and comfortable. Had plenty of places both inside and outside to sit and relax, though I didn't make use of any outside places due to allergies. Breakfast wasn't overly large, which I appreciated as someone that doesn't always eat breakfast to begin with. They were even kind enough to give me breakfast slightly earlier than their usual time frame so I could make my early boat and still enjoy the food.

My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. The property is beautiful, the surroundings are peaceful. However, I feel it’s important to share my experience to help other travelers who are considering this property No compassion - I suffered a severely sprained ankle two days prior to my arrival at this B&B, requiring an air cast. There was no ground floor room available when I contacted the B&B. I appreciated their quick response & decided to try to make it work Multiple stairs are mentioned on their website. But I did not realize the difficulty of the narrow outdoor stairss with no handrail, the polished wood stairs inside and having to walk down the hall to use the bathroom. After one night we realized we couldn’t safely stay. I shared this with the hosts the next day. Little was said apart from their caution that nothing would be available in the area on a holiday weekend. We found a beautiful suite in Victoria costing another $1000 No value or privacy if you stay in the Seaview Room. Room is small with 14” TV, no mini fridge, no ensuite. The bathroom is passed by the hosts and other guests. Balcony is shared with other guests, hosts are always around. More like a stay with parents than an anniversary. Basic breakfast that while thoughtfully prepared is more like what you could make at home. Not the elevated style of other B&Bs. Enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at the Laburnum cottage. The accommodations were quite comfortable and certainly quiet. The cottage itself is nicely decorated and the hosts were very gracious (I got too used to having breakfast delivered on time every morning!).
