The hotel is fine, but it is just a hotel, the pictures of playgrounds, BBQs and ping pong tables in the listing are not part of the property and are all found a walk away from the property in public parklands, something to be aware of if you're booking as a family thinking these are ammenities on site, maintained by the hotel, and exclusive for guest use. When there are a lot of properties across the Sunshine Coast that do offer ammenities like this it made this listing feel a bit deceptive.

Nice place for a quick stay... didnt have many facilities in room that we needed like a microwave or cutlery for takeaway meals. I found 4 children toys under the rollaway bed from previous guests. So beds dont get moved..

Beside the bread crumbs under the bed, mould in the toilet, dust on the the carpet and stains on the wall not mentioning the lazy staff and rude customer service, if its only sleeping in theres a lot of other accomodation that is much cheaper than this. I am an accors member and I booked this hotel as reputation exceeds itself however to my disappointment, I would not recommend staying in here. Not toiletries was available in the room and when I asked front desk they asked me grab it from downstairs. Truly a disappointing stay for me and my family.

The room appeared not to have been properly cleaned. There was dirt—and what looked to be black mould—in the window sill, there was dust in the bed head, and dirt spots in the toilet floor. Took photos, went to the reception and showed the photos to them. They offered to come upstairs and wipe it clean, but by then I had lost confidence in the property. This is what the dirt I could see, imagine what I couldn’t see. I asked for a refund, which was promptly actioned. I have zero complaints about the reception staff; they were efficient and professional. My issue is with the cleanliness and care of the room. For the rate we pay, the least I expect is a clean room. Especially if that was really black mould, that’s dangerous. Very disappointing.

Room - black mold all over ceiling in sleeping area. Single bed had suspect marks along side of ensemble possibly mold. No handsoap at the basin. No shampoo in the shower. This place was really good 2 yrs ago. Disgusting complained to staff, unable to offer me another room as she said they were fully booked. I asked to speak to management and she said they wouldn’t do anything more. She took photos of ceiling and said she would report to management. Imagine my surprise at hearing nothing from management today. I phone around 3pm snd was told he the manager had gone home. This is possibly the root cause of the problem. I have requested a full refund; I have photos of black mold on ceiling as well. This is a health risk and I most certainly expected to hear from someone in management. I am very disappointed and now very angry at spending my hard earn cash in such a filthy and poorly run establishment. To allow their rooms to be let to unsuspecting public is a travesty. I am happy to provide medical papers on the effects of inhaling black mold over 12 hrs. I spoke to the duty manager this morning on departure, he took notes, told me he could do nothing. Have me the managers email. Just not good enough. Surely this was passed on to the manager after it was reported to two staff. Do not stay in this establishment!!! I await contact from management

Normally an amazing stay, however it worries me that they’ve changed cleaners as: - first room had 7 and counting live cockroaches - was moved to another room however that had a fan/humidifier or something on the ground - then third room had ants in the bathroom. The front desk staff were all lovely, however it was a very disruptive stay

Our room stunk of urine coming from the bathroom, bathroom floor still had wet patches from cleaning but it stunk of urine. Guess someone had a pee in the shower and cleaner didn’t clean it properly. The room also looked dirty as there was a large stain on the carpet and the lounge chair had dirty marks all over it, I went down to reception to tell them but they could not move us as fully booked so they sent someone up with a bucket and mop to clean, which helped with the smell. Tried to turn air conditioning off as it was cold but it was stopping and starting all night causing us to keep waking up due to the noise and made us freeze. We thought if we stayed at a Mercure hotel it would be clean but no. Would not recommend staying here.

The room which we stayed 317 was absolutely disgustingly dirty. The shower, the sink was awful. When you least the property as 4.5 starts we were expecting some value out of it which turned out to be so upsetting. I was using Wotif for the first time but I have to give it a second thought. Thank you.

This was a great hotel and I'd stay again. Only weird things were the wifi was really bad and a few things were missing from our room, like towels etc., and nobody would bring them up to our room. Otherwise great hotel.

Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Clean room. Poorly designed bathroom per other reviews. Worst thing was the noise transference between rooms. We could clearly hear conversations in the next room. We appeared to have an adjoining room - maybe something to do with that. Despite everything else being fine, due to valuing our privacy and our sleep, would not stay again.

The room we booked and received a key for was already occupied when we tried to enter. We went down to reception and were reassigned to another room on a different floor, but it only had one bed, though we had booked two. Returning to reception, we were given a room on the first floor, but it wasn't wheelchair accessible, which we needed. The receptionist tried to blame the mix-up on me, saying I should have confirmed the booking as requests aren't always fulfilled. Meanwhile, with significant mobility issues, we had to carry bags to three different rooms.

Unfortunately had a scary experience at 2am with another guest given keys to my room. Luckily I woke up to the sound of beeps on the door to stop someone walking into my room! Staff said they had double-booked my room & accidentally assigned another guest to my room!! So after that, I couldnt get back to sleep worrying someone else was going to walk in!! Not happy. Wouldnt stay again.

The front desk staff were shockingly bad. Rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. Simple questions were met with eye rolls, confusion, or outright attitude. It honestly felt like we were inconveniencing them by existing. No explanations, no apologies, no accountability — just excuses, indifference, and an alarming lack of professionalism. to make matters worse, the hotel has absolutely no active security whatsoever. The combination of no security and a front desk that clearly doesn’t care makes this place feel unsafe and poorly managed.

I booked two rooms for friends who had a family member undergoing surgery at SCUH. Contact with the hotel was smooth and very flexible. The late check in was not a problem and they found the. Beds very comfortable. Thank you very much. Would highly recommend

Staff were most helpful could not fault them. Kindness to us old folk was very much appreciated. Wife has a few more trips to the hospital and you can be sure we will be staying at the Mercure. Lovely quiet stay just a short walk to Sunny Coast Uni Hospital. Bed was very comfy. Parking was good, but a little difficult if you have a larger car. I wonder if people other than guests should be allowed to park there though as we were lucky to find a park and that was at 10.30am when many guests would have checked out. Not sure what we were going to do if we couldn't find a car park.

Chose this hotel solely because of its proximity to SCUH and for this reason, the location was very convenient and suited our needs perfectly. It’s within an easy walking distance, offers free parking and the staff are excellent. Would definitely recommend and return.

Staff were courteous & friendly. I was disappointed by the limited breakfast menu and chose Eggs Benedict. No smoked salmon add-on. The yolks were hard and the bacon was dry. Disappointing for such a nice hotel!

Excellent food at the in house restaurant. Five stars! Would prefer an in room mini bar instead of walking down to the reception every time I wanted a drink. Also no information available regarding room services and general guest info without scanning a QR code. Not great if you don’t have a “smart” device and when asked for such info at reception kind of got looked at like an idiot. So no idea what other services I could have used. Otherwise fantastic, do recommend.

I enjoyed all the meals, and particularly enjoyed the salmon I had for the evening meal. Because I was going in for surgery, nearby, I was given a time deadline and the staff happily obliged giving me very personal and supportive service. I will definitely return and recommend this hotel to my friends. Thank you.. everyone!

Quick overnight business stay. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely though the menu isn’t extensive. Service was great. My only complaint would be my tv appeared to have a mind of its own, turning itself on & off as it saw fit regardless of whether you were watching a show or if you were sleeping. Would definitely recommend if you need somewhere near the hospital.
