Our cottage was quaint and comfortable. Bed was a little hard but didn’t take away from the aesthetic. Also we enjoyed the pool.

My family and I had a very nice stay at Hontoon Harbor...we were able to rent a boat for the day for a very reasonable price and the staff was very kind!

Beautiful property right on the lake. Room #9 was completely redone. King Bed was extremely comfortable. Cable tv Wi-Fi and a small refrigerator/freezer were in the room. Honestly, I was VERY skeptical driving down to the property, but was pleasantly surprised. The woman who checked us in was very nice! There is a pool picnic tables, and even pontoons that you can rent for a very reasonable fee. It is however a distance to town. There were two restaurants not too far away and we went to the Athens theater to see noises off which was splendid! We will definitely be back!

The hotel staff were so kind and cheerful! Extremely helpful and informative. Carol was just amazing and made us feel very welcome upon our arrival and even beforehand with a nice courtesy call to verify our booking. The rooms were very clean and cozy, water pressure not the greatest but overall very satisfied with the standard rooms for the price! Having access to a boat ramp and boat slip was a big selling point for us and it didn't disappoint. Trailer parking and boathouse staff available to help you out whenever you need to launch. A short boat ride away from blue springs, hontoon island is right across from the resort, and a good ole fashioned fish camp style riverside restaurant about two miles upriver to get some great gator tail. Overall very pleased with our stay and plan on staying many more times in the future!

What a great place to stay on the river. Quiet and clean with stunning river view. Our room had a separate kitchenette and dining table. Freshly remodeled and our king size bed was very comfortable. Friendly staff. The deli and boat tours were not running but they expect to resume both shortly. Pontoon boat rentals and boat slip rentals available right outside your back door!

This property is a beautiful & quiet location right on the St.John's river. The room was spotless, and the staff was wonderful. I liked how the room and sheets smelled clean but not "Chemical" . Easy access to great fishing as well. What more can you ask for?!?!?

The room was very clean and comfortable. Nice little freezer/fridge for my wife's meds and slept well in the bed. The only thing that kept it from 5-star was we needed to run the A/C all the time, and it wasn't "noisy", but wasn't quiet either.

The marina and resort were pristine and felt very private. Our room seemed to be freshly painted, with new furniture throughout. We didn't pay for a river view, but the river was visible through our window. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and welcoming. We can't wait to go back!

I have stayed here several times and always enjoy my time here. I stay in the riverview rooms and love sitting outside watching the river and wildlife. It is quiet and relaxing, and the people are friendly.

My wife and I have been staying at Hontoon for more than ten years and the environment and views are wonderful. Flooding from Ian last year has closed the office and shop and the rooms have been renovated. They are trying but the cost went up as well (presumably to pay for renovations). The room had tv problems that took a 2-hour bite from what was supposed to be a romantic getaway with staff in our room most of that time. The new room design was at best austere and sterile feeling. As I said before, we love the place and they are trying. We’ll wait a while, though, before returning.

Beautiful place on the river. They take good care of property. Rooms have no noise barrier. Walls are so thin you can hear people's conversations, pushing buttons on microwave, opening packages, tv in back bedroom. Didn't get much sleep only because of very poor construction. Our neighbors felf bad but they weren't excessively noisy, just normal daily activities. Real shame because its a gorgeous location but we will not stay there again. Also no microwave in every room and only access to ice machine is through the staff 9-6. If you want more than a small bucket you have to pay $3. For the nightly price of the room you would do better, sleep better somewhere else.

This is a tranquil property on the St. John's river. Rooms are clean, comfortable and updated. We enjoyed listening to the frogs croaking at night across the river and watching the light change at sunrise from the balcony over coffee. We saw a morning space shuttle launch from the property too. It is about 12 minutes from restaurants and groceries in Deland. There is no breakfast served but there is an ample mini fridge/freezer in the rooms and a microwave so we bring a few snacks, a bottle of wine and breakfast supplies. The office has snacks and drinks too. Deland has plenty of restaurants, bars and a few museums to explore. There are several State Parks with Springs nearby and Volusia Speedway for dirt track stock racing.

It was rustic. My brother said it was more like a "fish camp" than a "resort". There was no desk with chair so my brother had to go purchase a folding table and chair so he could do his work. The TV got stuck on one channel but the staff worked diligently until they got it working properly. There was no fan/exhaust in the bedroom which needed one badly. I took cold showers to avoid the "sauna effect".

This property is very beautiful. It was very disappointing that we had such a bad stay. We had an adjoining room and the walls were paper thin. I could hear the conversations from the room next door clear as day. I got woke up before 6 am both days by children crying. I had to play thunderstorm sounds on my phone to sleep at night. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The listing says a kitchen in your room, but we didn’t even have a microwave. Just a fridge and coffee pot. There was no table or desk for me to work on my computer, I had to use a bench as a make shift desk. The WiFi is not good service. Definitely don’t choose this place if you are trying to work. Lastly when we booked the room we chose reserve now and pay later. The hotel proceeded to charge a full day at booking that posted, not pending. When I asked Expedia because they told me $0 due now and they told me it was the hotel and they couldn’t help. We needed up switching hotels our last night in town because I just couldn’t do another night of horrible sleep.

1st, The staff were the rudest people I've ever dealt with. I.e. my wife asked for an iron and the woman acted like that was a stupid thing to ask for. I can't do it justice how rude this woman was. 2nd, we booked a room through an internet site (Hotels.com), for a queen bed and a double pull out couch. I needed a big bed for my kids to share. Apparently, the hotel didn't get this info or whatever, and I asked if they could do something. we had to pay extra $$ to get a room that would suffice. It should be noted that this place would have been nearly empty if it were not for us deciding to have family stay together for a funeral. We had at least 8 rooms rented. 3rd, the place was very old and outdated. Kind of a dump. No ice machines, When I asked for cream and sugar for my coffee, you'd think I was asking for a gold nugget.

We booked a last minute trip from Jax for NYE in order to go to Blue Springs on the first. We arrived a bit after their closing and the front desk clerk was very accommodating and kind! Even pointed us in the direction of a local spot to grab a great dinner. It was incredibly peaceful, and clean. Riverside view was wonderful. We wish it wasn't such a quick trip, we’ll be back to rent a boat and actually enjoy the area for longer than one night!

A short boat ride away from blue springs, hontoon island is right across from the resort, and a good ole fashioned fish camp style riverside restaurant about two miles upriver to get some great gator tail. Overall very pleased with our stay and plan on staying many more times in the future!
The hotel staff were so kind and cheerful! Extremely helpful and informative. Carol was just amazing and made us feel very welcome upon our arrival and even beforehand with a nice courtesy call to verify our booking. The rooms were very clean and cozy, water pressure not the greatest but overall very satisfied with the standard rooms for the price! Having access to a boat ramp and boat slip was a big selling point for us and it didn't disappoint. Trailer parking and boathouse staff available to help you out whenever you need to launch. What a wonderful place to visit old Florida style living. The room was very clean. The check in was easy and welcoming. The view is breathtaking. If you need a place to unwind, relax, and just reboot, this is the place. I came here to be still and be closer to God.

This is a tranquil property on the St. John's river. Rooms are clean, comfortable and updated. We enjoyed listening to the frogs croaking at night across the river and watching the light change at sunrise from the balcony over coffee. We saw a morning space shuttle launch from the property too. It is about 12 minutes from restaurants and groceries in Deland. There is no breakfast served but there is an ample mini fridge/freezer in the rooms and a microwave so we bring a few snacks, a bottle of wine and breakfast supplies. The office has snacks and drinks too. Deland has plenty of restaurants, bars and a few museums to explore. There are several State Parks with Springs nearby and Volusia Speedway for dirt track stock racing.

Beautiful property right on the lake. Room #9 was completely redone. King Bed was extremely comfortable. Cable tv Wi-Fi and a small refrigerator/freezer were in the room. Honestly, I was VERY skeptical driving down to the property, but was pleasantly surprised. The woman who checked us in was very nice! There is a pool picnic tables, and even pontoons that you can rent for a very reasonable fee. It is however a distance to town. There were two restaurants not too far away and we went to the Athens theater to see noises off which was splendid! We will definitely be back!

We booked a last minute trip from Jax for NYE in order to go to Blue Springs on the first. We arrived a bit after their closing and the front desk clerk was very accommodating and kind! Even pointed us in the direction of a local spot to grab a great dinner. It was incredibly peaceful, and clean. Riverside view was wonderful. We wish it wasn't such a quick trip, we’ll be back to rent a boat and actually enjoy the area for longer than one night!

Looks like an older motel but room is updated, nice tv, and clean. They were recovering from hurricane so deli and ferry in the park next door was shut down. Only downside is the light next to the door attracts so many bugs that a swarm rushes in to the room when you go in and out. Maybe spray it with bug spray or they could move the lights to the ceiling above. If they move the light I'd give it 5 out of 5. Either way, I'd gladly stay here again; especially once the park reopens!

What a great place to stay on the river. Quiet and clean with stunning river view. Our room had a separate kitchenette and dining table. Freshly remodeled and our king size bed was very comfortable. Friendly staff. The deli and boat tours were not running but they expect to resume both shortly. Pontoon boat rentals and boat slip rentals available right outside your back door!

What a hidden gem!! Rooms were spacious and clean. Grounds as well. Sitting on the balcony or patio area outside our room was a perfect way to relax. We only used this as an overnight stop on our way home and if it was closer to our home we would definitely return for stays
