We had a really pleasant stay in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment here. While the apartment was quite compact, it is still considered rather spacious by Tokyo standards. The apartment was clean and everything in the apartment worked well -- hot water shower, washer/dryer to do our laundry (though do note the capacity is on the smaller side), microwave oven to heat up our food etc. Communication with the hotel to inform them to accept my luggage delivery was smooth. Walking distance (about 10 mins) from Ikebukuro station (one of the major train stations with many different train lines); on a reactively quiet street. There is a 7-11 and a Family mart nearby (3 mins walk) which was convenient.

Helpful staff. Very convenient location with a diverse style of restaurant within 5min’s walk. Ikebukuro station is within 10 min walk. Pokemon room is superb for kids. The amenities is comprehensive and includes a kitchenette. Truly a room feels like home.

The staff were welcoming and friendly — such a nice first stop after our 14-hour flight. The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We had a great stay, and it was very convenient to find restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend!

初めてのアパートメントタイプのホテル！ とても快適に連泊できました。 3世代で1部屋の利用しましたが、リビングありのそれぞれのお部屋にドアもあり、トイレも２つ、ドラム式洗濯機、キッチンにお風呂も2つ(1つはシャワーのみ)とても過ごしやすくて良かったです！ 共有スペースに子供のフリースペースもあって良かったです！ また利用したいと思えるホテルでした！

Mimaru Ikebukuro was an excellent fit for our family trip (me, husband, toddler, and mother-in-law). It was the only place I found in central Tokyo with a 2-bedroom apartment-style hotel room. The size & layout of the apartment was thoughtful, and the amenities were great (e.g. highchair & crib provided, towels changed daily, washer/dryer in unit, etc.). Staying in the Ikebukuro neighborhood was great; there are lots of good restaurants and shops around, and the local train station is a major transit hub - perfect for sightseeing. There's also a taxi stand and an airport bus pickup at the station. Lastly, the staff at Mimaru were especially helpful; they helped us untangle any challenges that arose (e.g. where to buy diapers in big packs, using Uber Eats in Tokyo, and how to book our bus tickets back to the airport). We would absolutely book with Mimaru on future trips to Japan!

Great Apartment Hotel. Good location, great room layout for a family of four (we had the Loft Bed Room), and spotlessly clean! Easily walkable to Ikebukuro Station which has lots of shopping and dining places to explore. Several convenience stores within a block of the hotel for supplies to make breakfast in the hotel, and the kitchenette has everything you need for a few days stay (and you can hire bigger appliances like rice cookers / toasters). The staff were really friendly and helpful and we're looking forward to returning to the hotel soon.

娘家族もMIMARUのホテルを気に入って利用しています。 私たちもゆっくりと快適に過ごせました。ありがとうございます。ただ、残念だったのは、浴室の清掃が行き届いてなかった事です。オレンジ色でヌルヌルカビが生えそうな箇所がありました。 他は満点でした。

I loved the location, lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, just an 8 minute walk to a large station with multiple lines. The futon bed did wonders for my back! We booked the loft bed and I noticed a lot of dust on the upper bunk. The only thing with the property is my husband developed an allergic reaction to something in the room - maybe the dust on the bed? Staff were helpful and spoke English - seemed to be an international crew!

The services provided were basic but sufficient. Housekeeping doesn’t make the room daily but does so every 3 to 4 days. Fresh sheets are provided when they make the room. Trash in the room is cleared every day and fresh towels were also provided daily. About 7 minutes walk to Ikebukuro Station. Convenience stores located within 2 to 3 minutes walk. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay.

The staff go above and beyond to help you. Rooms are clean and spacious. Unlike most hotels in Tokyo, this is very spacious. Spacious bathroom, plenty of floor space for luggages, generous closet space. Beds and duvets are very comfortable. Family Mart just a few steps away and 7/11 nearby. Many dining options nearby.

My wife, our three teenage kids, and I came from Los Angeles to spend Thanksgiving in Tokyo, and we had a great stay at MIMARU Tokyo Ikebukuro. This type of room is honestly our favorite, plenty of space and super comfortable for a family of five. The location couldn’t be more convenient, with easy access to food, shopping, and transportation. The staff were incredibly patient, friendly, and really thoughtful with their help, which made our stay even better. We loved the experience so much that we already booked another stay at one of their sister hotels near Tokyo Station. Highly recommended!

I have super complicated views of this hotel. On the one hand, the impossible to find hotels for groups larger than 3 in Tokyo, and this place fit the bill. It was generally clean, although there isn’t daily cleaning, which it feels like there should be for the cost (and we weren’t notified about this until right before checkin). My two major complaints are that the hotel is noisy and the mattresses are about 5 inches thick—they’re thin and insanely hard, and I’ve never seen anything quite like it, including at other stays in Japan. For the price, a good night’s sleep seemed like it should be provided. We complained to the hotel and wanted to leave, but they wouldn’t refund the remaining nights, which also seemed inappropriate. So between the discomfort of the mattress, noise from the neighborhood, and inability to get a refund, I can’t recommend the place. It’s also a neighborhood that’s pretty inconvenient to the rest of Tokyo—be prepared to spend 30-60 minutes in transit to get anywhere, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. In short—if you can, stay elsewhere.

Suite was very large for Tokyo. Bedroom was small as expected, but there was a sizable living room and 2 bathrooms for 2 bedrooms and 4 adults. New or recently renovated building provided for an excellent stay. Very close to the train station, about 5 min walk.

The Japanese Apartment was perfect for my family (2 adults & 2 kids). Having tatami style beds means we didn’t have to worry about the kids falling off the bed. There was enough space for them to play. The property is clean & staff are friendly and helpful. The property is about a 600m walk to Ikebukuro Station (exit C9 has an elevator/lift for those with luggage or a pram). We didn’t spend much time exploring Ikebukuro, but there seems to be plenty of dining options nearby.

We stayed in the City View 2-bedroom suite. The view of the city was great at night. The layout of the room especially the hallway entrance was a bit tight. The washer/dryer combo was right across from the shower room so you couldn’t have both doors open without hitting each other. The kitchen was also in the hallway. I would’ve preferred a different layout. The mattresses were a bit firm but the duvet was comfy. There weren’t any nightstands in the bedrooms for my husband to put his cpap machine on and very few outlets to plug our devices in. The shower pressure was awesome. The best shower I had while in Japan. I did not like the washer/dryer unit. It took over 6 hours to do one load. There was also a warning sign that if the dryer overheats, the door would auto-lock which meant that you could not remove your clothes until it cooled down. The sign said to allow for 10-20 minutes but it took well over an hour. I learned to just do a load before we left for the day and when we got back at night. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is near the red light district but we didn’t find it bothersome and the area felt safe. The train station is about a 10 minute walk and there are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and combinis nearby.

Amazing hotel! Ikebukuro is a great location in itself, but the hotel is also well-positioned for explorations around Tokyo. Staff were super helpful and welcoming. Our family room was large, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our 8 night stay. We made use of the laundry room a couple of times and found it very convenient. We would very happily stay here again.

The staff were welcoming and friendly — such a nice first stop after our 14-hour flight. The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We had a great stay, and it was very convenient to find restaurants nearby. My wife, our three teenage kids, and I came from Los Angeles to spend Thanksgiving in Tokyo, and we had a great stay at MIMARU Tokyo Ikebukuro. This type of room is honestly our favorite, plenty of space and super comfortable for a family of five. The location couldn’t be more convenient, with easy access to food, shopping, and transportation. The staff were incredibly patient, friendly, and really thoughtful with their help, which made our stay even better. We loved the experience so much that we already booked another stay at one of their sister hotels near Tokyo Station. Highly recommended!

My daughter had fever and she was not able to move and get out of bed during the check-out time. The staff are are friendly and very accommodating. They allow us to stay for 2 more hours. Luckily, she felt better after that. So we can return to Canada as scheduled. Thank you Gina and everyone!

The staff and room were very good. The area is slightly far from the station but within walking distance. The walk is through a lane hosting girls bars which might be an issue for some but they don't really bother tourists. Bunk might be small for 2 kids who are teens and we had to upgrade to the 2 bed room category

Firstly, this is a very nice hotel. The Hotel itself is at least 4-5 stars - rooms are great for families, front desk very helpful and modern clean. BUT the location is awful. It is on the wrong side of the tracks in Ikebukuro (a long walk to all the good shops) and even worse to get to the station you have to walk through Tokyo’s second largest red light district. It so seedy/full of drunk people I didn’t want my family to walk through there at night so got a taxi. If you want to stay in Ikebukuro stay on the east side of the station. A strange place to have a family friendly hotel.

Area always feels alive without being too crowded like some of the more touristed areas like Shibuya. Less than 20 min walk away from Sunshine City which among other things has a Pokémon Center.

The property and the staff were great, I wish they would have an on-site restaurant but there were many small restaurants with in a 5min walk. The property is clean and the rooms very inviting. Love the Japanese style in the rooms. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Tokyo. The apartment style is great for families..

My family (2A 2C) booked this hotel for our first time and are very happy and satisfied with our 8days in Tokyo. Comfortable and around a 5-7 mins walk from Ikebukoro JR station from west exit. Alot of eateries and familymart/7-11 around to get items. Front desk staffs are helpful and friendly! However, do note that they do not change bedsheets on a daily basis or make your bedsheet, they do this on every 3days. Towels can be requested to replace on a daily basis. What we like about this hotel is that the rooms are spacious considering the hotels that we have been to in tokyo are very small to fit a family of 4 like us with young children. There is a laundry area on lvl 2 to do your washing and drying with detergents provided. There is a resting area should you nees to wait as well. Overall on the price point and experiences we had, we definately will come back to this hotel again should we come Tokyo in the near future!

If you're looking to stay in Tokyo, outside the hustle and bustle of the main area, consider Mimaru Tokyo Ikebukuro. It's a great location on the corner a few blocks away from the main street of restaurants and about 5 blocks away from the Ikebukruo station, with a Family Mart conveniently a block away. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They will get you checked in and to your room immediately. We had a Non Smoking, 4 Twin Beds and 1 Twin Bunk Bed room (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room/kitchenette) and it was very comfortable for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids (8yo, 5yo). Everything was tidy and clean, and you had all the basic essentials you needed in the kitchenette (mugs, cups, plates, utensils, paper towels, soap, sponge). We also had a washer/dryer in the room, which made it convenient to do laundry each day!
