Great Pyramid Inn

Very friendly staff. Undergoing renovations right now, so there is some noise. But the view is incredible. We will definitely go back if we visit Egypt again.

Unbelievable views from rooftop dining area, some rooms also stunning views, worth paying extra for. Basic but nice breakfasts. Dining at night during light shows on pyramids was excellent. Lovely Egyptian theme throughout hotel was lovely. Staff were all lovely, overall very pleasant stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate booking it again. Small property no pool but amazing view.

Excellent service. Very clean hotel. Beautiful view, the only think is the elevator is very small but it’s ok.

All in all I loved being there. The property, two buildings put together, is a bit problematic. At one point both elevators were down, one of them for the duration of the stay. A couple of other building issues arose but were quickly resolved by the staff. The staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. Deena at the front desk was terrific. The Inn’s proximity to the necropolis is far and away the best part. The view was the terrace could not be beat. You might treat yourself to a Junior Suite where you wake up with the pyramids literally at your feet. The view made everything all right again.

Staff was friendly and accommodating (provided bottled water/towels any time we asked). Breakfast and staff on rooftop restaurant was pretty good. We stayed for five nights. We never received a ride from the airport to the hotel as advertised. We ended up hiring a van at the airport. We lost power and water pressure for a couple of hours at a time 4 out of 5 days we were there, believe that is an issue in that local area out of their control. Friends who stayed in other well-to-do areas like Zemelak did not have power outages. Staff can arrange complete tours for most POI as well as rides to/from. We took a buggy to pyramids tour it was decent. Note cost is 2-4X cost that one would pay if they did on their own. Prearranged tours save hassle of doing it on own and relative cost after conversion is not too bad. Rooms were clean. Rooms have tiny windows that look into an alley. We used Uber for most of our rides to POIs. We did have one instance where our Uber car overheated on a freeway and we had to cross the freeway to a less busy road to find another Uber. Inn had nothing to do with Uber that was our choice. Perhaps their rides and vehicles are in better condition. Do not know for sure. They have a laundry service however it did not work for us due to power outage that lead to breakdown of their washing machine. Not staff kept taking laundry orders despite knowing their washer was broken. Promising people laundry would be done in 24.

Great location next to the Pyramids. Wonderful room with a fantastic view. The breakfast was delicious. The downside was that they were remodeling and it was very noisy starting early in the morning. The elevator wasn’t available near our room.

Excellent view from my room and roof top restaurant, and right across the street from Pyramid Light and Sound show. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The room is a great value for the cost, including airport pickup which is 1 hour away. Return was modest cost. They offered too at a reasonable cost and great value a private driver and also a second person as guide to visit the Pyramid grounds and the museum downtown. The all day experience because of these two people made the day way more enjoyable and stress free. I highly recommend doing the same - it is worth it. I would give the hotel 4*, but the staff and service 5*.

WOW!! The view of the pyramids, sphinx & Giza plateau- UNBELIEVABLE!! View from the rooftop dining area is SPECTACULAR!! The staff is incredible- always helpful, joy filled smiles & will help arrange car transportation, any tour needs & offer their own tours. The food was good (again the views!!) Clean, free water whenever you need/want, good beds & accommodations. It’s located in Giza, right across from pyramids; about 30min to airport, 45min to central Cairo attractions. Book now for an incredible stay!!

I stayed at this hotel when I was in Giza. Upon checking in this place took care of me. They organized a driver , guide for my excursions , ran my luggage up to my room with a breeze. The view from the lever 700 restaurant was a direct view of the pyramids which was amazing. The hotel was doing some renovating while I was there but very understandable. Overall great place and I would recommend staying there. I didn’t wonder around the areas outside at night as it was too busy with street vendors and I didn’t want the hassle. I enjoyed just having a drink and enjoying the view which is exceptional. Finally the hotel organized airport transportation for me and the driver was early. Great Hotel

didnt like that there was no alcohol served at the rooftop. also, the area is polluted begging children people trying tirelessly to hustle a few bucks out of you at any given time. hotel, rooftop restaurant and view were great.

Great location for the pyramids and wonderful view from the rooftop. ロケーションが大変良く屋上からの眺めも最高でした。屋上レストランのご飯や飲み物が美味しく手頃な値段で良かったです。悪かった点は、清潔さが気になりました。バスタオルがいつも生乾きで、指摘すると「部屋で干しておいてくれ」と言われました。また、温水シャワーの使える量に制限があり、男2人旅でも足りませんでした。一度給湯器が空になると30分ほど待たなくてはいけないのが大変でした。ピラミッドへのロケーション、またスタッフの対応は良かったですが、シャワーと生乾きのバスタオルは気になりました。またWiFiはほぼ繋がらなかったです。 ホテルスタッフが提案してくれるピラミッドの一日ツアー（110ドル）は日本語ガイドがついて、一通りピラミッドを回れるので良かったです。一方でナイル川クルーズ（65ドル）は良くなかったです。ご飯も美味しくなく、アフリカの人たちのナイトクラブのような船で、ぼったくりでした。

- Positives: The view of the pyramids from the balcony and/or rooftop is unbeatable. Having one of the national dishes of Egypt (koshary “delivered”) eating it in the balcony with the pyramids in the background was out of this world. Staff were very welcoming at the front desk. Breakfast was lovely (Egyptian authentic food) served with love by phenomenal staff. Finally, a special thanks to Mohammed the room/bag service guy, he gave me lots of helpful tips and was very honest. - Negatives: unfortunately, the area is not well maintained in front of and around the hotel nor cleaned; thus, you can smell animal poo from the room. Rooms are not insulated and you can pretty much hear the foot steps from the street and outside the room. Room doors are old school and extremely loud when closed, with the walls not insulated, expect to wake up from deep sleep every time a room door in your level closes (like it is being slammed shut). Showers have no curtains (causing entire bathroom to be covered in water) and the heater barely allows one quick shower before it runs out of hot water when full. When I asked for a curtain, they said “we sent someone to buy it, he’ll be there to put it in 10 minutes.” I called again 3 hours later and still got the same answer (the 10 minutes lasted my entire stay and I still didn’t get the curtain lol). Finally, for the price I paid, this was not what I expected.

I believe this hotel may be the best option in Giza unless you stay at the Marriott Mena. Cons: There was a really bad smell in the bathroom that took away from the enjoyment. The staff sprayed and cleaned and brought incense which helped some. One of the overnight staff when we arrived wasn’t very honest about the amount of cats that hang around the hotel. We are animal lovers but my fiancée is HIGHLY allergic to cats to where it can be fatal. We stressed that and he just told us no cats but found three cats on our balcony. Overall other staff were really nice and tried to rectify it as best as they could. Make sure you book tours with certified websites before you arrive. They tend to overcharge which is typical for hotels but the tour experience is completely different. We didn’t get our moneys worth and felt like we were constantly taken to shops to buy stuff rather than touring sites we paid for which put a bad taste in our mouth first day in Egypt but got better as we went on other tours we booked on reputable websites. Stay away from the tours and you will have a good experience.

We had a twin share room like a tomb. No windows and air con that needed a good clean. Sheets were really rough. Upstairs restaurant had a magnificent view of pyramids and food basic international but no local flavours. Service was good. If you plan to stay here book room with window and view.

Our stay at the Great Pyramid Inn was truly memorable! The view of the pyramids is absolutely breathtaking…waking up to that sight was unforgettable. Wael and the rest of the staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming; Wael even upgraded our room since one was available, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained, and the location couldn’t be better — it’s just a short walk to the Pyramids and the Sphinx. The rooftop restaurant is also a great spot to enjoy breakfast or dinner while taking in the stunning view. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend the Great Pyramid Inn to anyone visiting Giza!

Bathroom shower needs complete renovation - water flow is minimum/ floor gets wet after shower - hot water pressure was almost nil … will never return here

The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The Pyramids view from the room was fantastic and the rooftop restaurant is definitely a must go!

IF YOU LIKE TO SLEEP DO NOT STAY THERE. I booked a 10 night stay, I fell in love with the pictures on Expedia. I was moved from the 1st floor, to the 5th floor and then the 3rd floor after complaning that I wasn't able to sleep. Always the same issue, noise noise noise. I didn't sleep for 5 nights. I had to book an AirBNB 30 minutes away and that hotel in order to sleep. They then refused to refund me the extra 5 nights that I had booked. Only stay there for 2 nights max, it's unbearable The views are amazing and you'll be 2 minutes away from the pyramids. Even if I returned to egypt I would book a hotel 30 minutes away ALWAYS BOOK AN UBER WHEREVER YOU GO SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO NEGOTIATE AND HAVE A HEADACHE EVERYTIME YOU WANT TO MOVE. EVERYONE WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU, EVEN THE HOTEL TAXI DRIVERS.

Room was nice and clean but small

Stayed in two different rooms. One was gorgeous with a beautiful view of the pyramids. The other youget what you pay for ha ha but was OK because of the breakfast convenience and beautiful views in the dining area.

L’hôtel est très beau et bien placé proche des pyramides. La vue est incroyable. Le service est excellent et le personnel très attentionné. En revanche les chambres sont très mal insonorisées, on entend tout, le personnel dans le couloir, les portes qui claquent, les cris dehors, le moteur de la Clim, les travaux. Bref, pas dormi des deux nuits. De plus, impossible d’ouvrir les fenêtres car ça donne sur des moteurs ou un mur. Je recommande juste une nuit pour des questions pratiques. Mais pas davantage. Il est compliqué de sortir de l’hôtel, on se fait « harceler » pour tout et n’importe quoi, acheter des souvenirs, tour en calèche, en dromadaire etc… c’est le jeu, mais seule avec 2 enfants, pas rassurant.

피라미드 바로 앞이라서 위치가 좋고 방도 넓고 깨끗한 편이긴하지만, 말발굽소리와 개 짖는 소리 차 경적소리 등 밤새 소음으로 인해 잠을 자기가 어려웠습니다. 이 위치의 숙소들은 모두 동일할 것이라 생각됩니다. 소음에 민감하다면 다른 위치 숙소가 나을 것 같습니다. 그리고 밤늦게 공항에서 기자 호텔로 오기위해 우버를 이용하려했으나 오랫동안 잡히지않고 잡힌 후에는 우버를 취소하고 따로 훨씬 비싼 현금을 요구했습니다. 조식은 오믈렛정도만 먹을만 했고 대신 식당에서 피라미드를 보며 조식을 먹을 수 있다는 점은 좋았습니다.

The big selling point for this hotel is their location, and the views of the pyramids are obviously stunning. Additionally, the hotel also impressed us with its fantastic free breakfast offerings and with how well maintained it was. The staff were also attentive to any requests and made us feel very welcomed. The one downside is that their Wi-Fi was spotty and unreliable. For us it worked only in certain parts of the room (i.e. by the bathroom) and was prone to drop. Keep this in mind if you anticipate needing to conduct any important virtual meetings or otherwise need a reliable connection. However, this didn’t affect our overall impression of the hotel, which was very positive.

Wow, what an incredible view from my suite window. I could see out to the 3 Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. You can sit in the jacuzzi tub and marvel at the Pyramids. The king bed and decor in the room were so beautiful. The best part was the service. The team at the front were so hospitable and kind, they arranged a breakfast to be packed up to go with me to the airport because I had to leave before breakfast was open. The view from the rooftop was stunning (I had to check it out before I left). I would definitely recommend and would 100% go back to this hotel next time I am in Cairo. Thank you to everyone who were so kind to receive me at 1:30 am. I felt safe and cared for.

This was my first visit to Egypt, and my decision to stay at Great Pyramid Inn made my trip worthwhile. I was worried about avoiding scams, food poisoning, and local dangers in general, and the staff there took great care of me. The food at the hotel was clean and reliable, the rooms were well-kept, and every service I requested of them was perfectly executed. We decided to take a tour recommended by the staff, and it was a great decision. Our guide didn't try to pressure us and brought us to some less touristy shops. They provided a van for the day with a safe driver. It was a great value for the price! The hotel also helped us organize other transportation which was much more safe and reliable than trying to organize it ourselves through Uber or taxi. If I return to Egypt, I will definitely be staying here again!

Staff was very gracious and accommodating. Hotel provides late checkout of up to 6 more hours for modest cost. Room was comfortable and quiet - exactly what we needed for one day stay before long flight home.

I enjoyed my recent 5 day stay at the Inn. The location is perfect, breakfast was healthy, my room was clean and the hotel was affordable. I envision many improvements to the hotel and area in general. Unfortunately, as a digital nomad, I was unable to work due to the poor Internet. I worked when there was low usage. When the bellman showed me my room, he did not explain how to turn on the hot water on for a shower so I showered in cold. The TV was broken and the assistant did not come to repair it despite saying he would. Also, we had a heat wave so I was working late in the night for the Internet then getting up early and napping around noon. I put my “do not clean” sign up but the assistants came knocking on the door offering fruit or cleaning services. This should be discontinued to honour guests sleeping time. One of the hotel managers also tried to sell a tour that was three times the price you can get online. He enforced his sales pitch upon entry which again is very unprofessional. Despite all these problems it is one of the best options in the area. I hope the management will take my advice seriously and seek to be the best hotel in Giza.

Wonderful staff and great rooms.

This was a really nice hotel, especially given the price. It made it an incredible value in my opinion. The rooms were really nice and the Egyptian theme to the hotel and rooms were a really nice touch, especially when you arrive into Egypt for the first time. The location is also incredibly convenient now, given the new arrangements of the Pyramid complex, because the Pyramid Complex exit is 50 meters from the hotel. This has positives and negatives because it also means the nearby stores are all tourist trap stores and not local stores or restaurants. Luckily though, this hotel's top floor is one of the trendiest and nicest restaurants in Giza, so you don't need to go very far at all to get a good meal. We ate here once for dinner and the food was excellent, though expensive even by USA standards. I also need to mention the airport pickup when we arrived, which didn't go well. They were 45 minutes late and I felt stranded at the airport deciding whether to keep waiting or deal with the airport taxi/uber scammers. Overall, I would 100% stay here again and would recommend this hotel to everyone when they come to Giza.

When my husband and I arrived at the hotel, around 1pm, the room wasn’t ready. We needed to leave the hotel around midnight to go to the airport and we were recommended the hotel car service. We were told it would be safer than uber and that the uber driver drove recklessly. The hotel charged us $30 cash. After dinner, my husband and I went to the reception to confirm that the car would be there at midnight as planned earlier that day. At midnight, we went to the reception and no car for us. When we asked where the car was, I understood that the car was not coming… 15min later the car was not there, and I asked again and was told, it’s ok, no need to hurry, take your time, be patient, there is no rush! Then, the receptionist talked to another guy at the front desk who asked my husband and I to go outside and get in his car. He started driving and around the corner he told us that it would be someone else driving us to the airport in that same car we were in, and that we should be happy we have a car to take us to the airport. We waited in a random street for another 10min for that driver to show up. The way the driver drove was horrible, and I feared for my life. He drove so recklessly that I had to close my eyes so many times. The service was horrible. We paid $30 cash for a car that never came, to hop in a random car and be driven recklessly to the airport by a random driver that we had to wait for. Do yourself a favor, save your money and get an uber.

I confirmed an airport pickup 24 hours in advance, but no one showed up. After a 24-hour flight, I had to arrange my own transport when they told me they were running 40 minutes late. At the hotel, there was no real apology, and although I was told the manager would speak with me to make it right, no one ever followed up. The room was basic, smelled of sewer gas, and was noisy day and night. The only highlight was the restaurant—great buffet, excellent service, and lovely rooftop staff. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Extremely affordable, great staff who were so helpful is making sure we had a wonderful stay! They got us cabs, recommended ways for us not to get scammed and truly took care of us. Would recommend!! Can’t wait to go back!

My stay with you was excellent, I would recommend to anyone travelling to Cairo. Everything was great, the staff was great however only when you're in the hotel or the roof top space you would feel safe. It's like your transported to a different world.

Property itself and hotel staff are incredible. Rooms are perfect and everbody is very nice and accomadating. Its when you step outside it becomes a problem everbody and i mean everbody will try and hussle you so just stay sharp. If i had one criticism about the hotel then maybe get some better sound proofing for the pyramid view rooms other than that i have no complaints. Would stay here again no problems.

Outside this nice boutique hotel were piles of trash and litter. This somewhat took away from the great pyramid views. Taxi drivers arguing at 6:00 AM immediately outside was a disturbance, but staff were able to get the problem resolved for at least two night.

I rated this hotel a 4 because the hotel is a 3, and the views are a 5. The hotel is old and worn. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Upstairs restaurant was very good. Neighborhood was very questionable. If you are looking for the best views of the Giza pyramids at an affordable price, this is it. If you are looking for a fancy hotel (4 or 5 stars) this is not it! I would stay again for the view!

This hotel was great! The area around hotel is not walkable. The hotel staff will help you be safe. Nothing beats the view from the rooftop! The food was amazing! I would highly recommend this hotel…I was just not prepared for the area

Excellent hotel for a visit to Giza. The restaurant was very good and the view was amazing - the dinning menu had good options and the mushroom soup was a great choice. Appetizers were more like pub food but the main courses excellent. The room was fantastic and clean- we had the junior suite. It had the view of the pyramids. Our driver Ali who picked us up at the airport to bring us to the hotel was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. This can be a challenging area to visit as everyone is looking to get you to buy something. Ali was helpful throughout our visit to guide us and help us feel safe.

We had a great experience staying here. The location is optimal and the service staff were amazing helping us out in everyway. The rooftop restaurant with the best puramids views is excellent!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Great Pyramid Inn. The free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel (must book at least two nights) was great and minimized the stress of landing in Cairo late at night and having to travel about an hour away to Giza. Our room was spacious, clean, and you cannot beat the view. The hotel's rooftop view is outstanding as well. It's otherworldly to eat while overlooking the pyramids (especially at night) while a stone's throw from the Sphinx. The free breakfast spread is substantial and varied. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative - and it's not the hotel's fault - was the service (glacial) and food (overpriced and cold) at the Rooftop 7000 Restaurant. I highly recommend the Great Pyramid Inn.

AMAZING hotel located right in front of the pyramids. Incredible view with super clean cozy and comfortable rooms. The entire staff was beyond friendly, attentive and helpful. Their rooftop restaurant is the BEST ! Definitely recommend.

The view from the top roof restaurant was awesome. The only downside is that WiFi was unstable. Staff and service were excellent.

didnt like that there was no alcohol served at the rooftop. also, the area is polluted begging children people trying tirelessly to hustle a few bucks out of you at any given time. hotel, rooftop restaurant and view were great.
