Great facilities, welcoming and efficient staff. Spa facilities and outdoor pool are an added bonus.

Great location. Easy parking. Great service.

Très bel emplacement au calme, le lieu à beaucoup de charme. Le seul petit soucis, pas de sauna dans la zone spa et le hammam ne fonctionnait pas.

Établissement de grande classe, rénové avec beaucoup de goût. A quelques pas de la basilique de fourviere et du site gallo romain. Très belle architecture. Couloirs de nage agréables, jacuzzi, bain vapeur. Les tarifs des consommations sont cher au bar et au restaurant, ainsi que le petit-déjeuner a 27€.

Uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel! Het gebouw was indrukwekkend en mooi en het zwembad en de wellness zijn zeker pluspunten bij een verblijf in een stad.

Nicht gefallen hat mir der Spabereich. Die erlebnisdusche war defekt und der Eisbrunnen auch.

The Fourviere is a staggeringly lovely hotel in a beautifully renovated period property. Our room had a great view of the Cathederal and was easy walking distance from both funiculars. The breakfast was very good and offered lots of options to suit my dairy intolerance. The indoor spa and outdoor heated pool were very relaxing.

Beautiful property in a quiet but convenient area. Lovely spacious rooms, which were impeccable. Real bonus to have the heated swimming pool in November. Staff were very gracious and accommodating. A few improvements to suggest: maybe some hotel and area information in the rooms would be good; the ‘international TV channels’ advertised aren’t accessible (not an issue for us, but some people may be expecting these); reorganisation of the breakfast area - it’s a stunning setting but quite chaotic due to lack of space between tables and food self service areas. Overall, a beautiful, well maintained hotel, good value and worth the effort of the funicular to Fourvière. We would definitely return here.

The property is very nice from the outside and in the common areas, but the rooms are extremely basic and "cold" in appearance. We were disappointed that we booked this location part for the spa, but the spa was closed the week of our visit.

Property was unique and staff were generally nice . No air conditioning, hotel made the decision to turn it off , "it was not hot enough to justify it being on " . It was 27 degrees c .pool needed cleaned and the jacuzzi had a strong chlorine smell and the spa needed a clean in my opinion. Restaraunt was good and was fairly priced . Staff at the restaurant were friendly and knowledgeable about their menu . Head chef also came out to wish us a happy meal . Wasn't a bad hotel but the no air conditioning made the stay uncomfortable. Wouldn't be my first choice in Lyon again.

Hôtel reposant sur la colline de Fourvière. Cet ancien couvent a été admirablement rénové en 2011. Les chambres sont confortables et avec une bonne literie, mais elles manquent de hauteur sous plafond et les fenêtres sont très petites (anciennes cellules des sœurs). Le couloir de nage et le jardin sont très agréables. Le spa était par contre assez sale (terre au sol dans le hammam) et la douche sensorielle ne fonctionnait pas.

Chambre très propre et literie d'excellente qualité. Le personnel est très sympathique.

Leider war das Dampfbad im Spa Bereich aus. Und es war schmutzig.

Chambre propre, mais porte de la salle de bain qui grinçait énormément et nous avons dû intervenir auprès de la réception pour avoir une rectification. Cela aurait pu être envisagé en amont au moment du nettoyage de la chambre.

Amazing hotel, so nice and very clean

recently stayed at Fourvière Hôtel Lyon and had a wonderful experience. The architecture of the property is truly impressive, with unique and elegant design elements yet also a welcoming atmosphere. The location is in a quiet area, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, always greeting me with a smile and ready to assist with anything I needed. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional, with every area well-maintained and spotless. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely return!

Un très très bel hôtel, des équipements de bons niveaux, facile d’accès malgré la proximité avec Fourvière, des personnels accueillants et attentifs 3 bémols : un parking payant et un surcoût pour une recharge électrique (dommage vu le tarif global d’un hôtel de ce standing), une salle de petit-déjeuner bruyante (le cadre de l’hôtel ne facilite pas, concession à faire) et nous résidions au 2eme étage, quand nous sommes arrivés à 15h et idem au réveil à 9h, tous les racks de linge visibles au niveau des ascenseurs … davantage l’impression d’être dans une blanchisserie que dans un hôtel … dommage

Cadre exceptionnel pour cet hôtel situé dans un ancien couvent. La chambre est belle mais l’isolation sonore est défaillante et les rideaux laissent passer trop de lumière.

The rooms are small, this hotel used to be a convent. We were disappointed with the room, places at the back of the property with no view. The hotel is at the top of the hill in Fourviere and you need to take the underground Fernicular (sp?) to get downtown. The shower head leaked and the stopper in the sink was broken. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Hotellet ligger flott til på høyden over Lyon. En kort spasertur til det romerske teateret, museet og Basilikaen. Må oppleves. Et veldig flott hotell med egen spa-avdeling og utebasseng. Bassenget var smalt og langt. Det var ca 10 solsenger der, men mange behagelige solstoler man kunne legge bakover. Rommene hadde grei størrelse, men dobbeltsenga var altfor smal og med dobbeldyne. Toalett og bad var flott og på hvert sitt rom. Et lite minikjøleskap holdt drikken vår kald. Vi fikk hver vår morgenkåpe for å ha på ned til Spa-avdelingen. De ansatte var veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Snakket godt engelsk.

Beautiful property but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. For example, no irons, no water, no washcloths, sparse decor and a very tiny window that made it feel like a jail cell. The restaurant was excellent, but stuffy service, and the breakfast was just ok. Overall it was not welcoming, and as beautiful as the grounds were, it wasn't worth the money. Visit for lunch, but don't stay.

Long story short. We were given a room with broken AC. When we checked into our room it was unbearably hot. The Staff lied to us and told us that the AC was working but just slow. We asked for a room with working AC and were told all comparable rooms were checked out and that we were out of luck. We went out for the day because our room was too hot to relax in. When we got back at 10:30 pm the room was still uncomfortably hot and the staff then admitted that there was probably something wrong with the AC and that they could upgrade us to a bigger room. When we got to the bigger room, it was not precooled and we weren’t sure the AC in the hotel actually worked so we just took our original room. They gave is a fan and a sheet and told us their manager would make things up to us in the morning. The next morning the manager offered to wire us a refund if we got her our banking info. After emailing back in forth with this inattentive manager, we found out they were only going to refund us 20 Euros, which wasn’t fair compensation to us for being given a room with broken AC in the middle of the summer or worth the bother of figuring out an international money transfer. The lobby and hallways are also not climate controlled, so I’m left to wonder if this 4 star hotel can’t afford air conditioning. I would advise anyone else that doesn’t like sleeping in an oven to stay away.

Très bel hôtel, idéalement situé. La suite junior était très spacieuse et propre. Le lit trop court : 1m90 de long. Le plancher s’enfonce à quelques endroits. La salle de restauration est trop étroite.

There was no facilities or general needs in the room. No shampoo, conditioner, jug to boil water, tea bags, milk. Only one coffee pod supplied per person per day.

My airline lost my bag and your reception staff were extremely helpful in communicating with the airline in order to get it delivered. They were extremely helpful in everything I asked for help with.

Wir kamen fruher an und der Empfang war hoechst unflexibel. Vorschlag 1.5 Std warten. Bei einer 30% Auslastung und 70 Zimmern war um 13:30 kein Zimmer frei. Wo kein Wille ist ist auch kein Weg.

So another 4-star hotel that disappoints a bit. The staff is full of good intentions but just does not reach a 4-star level. I feel it boils down to lack of training and good management. E.g. we had a stranger coming into our room as the wrong key was handed out. A requested car service was not ordered but switched to another more expensive driver, even though I was told otherwise! Extremely slow service during our first lunch. Had booked two rooms, for our don to be close, but ended up on opposite sides of the hotel.

Excellent welcome from reception staff. The lobby is truly spectacular. Had a great meal in the restaurant. Enjoyed the pool. We were only able to stay one night but would love to go back and explore Lyon properly

Slow service, no water offered at arrival, 20 min for checkout, terrible experience for a 4 stars. Gardens and location is nice but you need to change/train your staff

Beautifully remodeled modern hotel set within the walls of a 19th century former convent. The rooms are spacious as are the many common seating, dining and bar areas. The hotel staff are professional and helpful with everything from check-in and a personal orientation tour of the property to making diner reservations and transfers to the train station. The hotel is on a steep hill overlooking Lyon, with a funicular station just a few minutes walk where you can catch a ride to the old town and Metro stop.

Accueil agreable mais attribution forcee d une chambre personne a mobilite reduite. Aucun moyen de changer j aurais dixit la personne qui m a recu, en faire la demande express avant d arriver. En soi ce n est pas la chambre qui m a choque mais la maniere de le faire et l imposer. J ai deja eu l occasion de venir ds cet hotel .. je ne sais pas si j y reviendrais ..peut etre...

Oh my god, literally one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in my life! Great room, excellent service and staff

Air conditioning was very poor & uncomfortable for sleeping. Communication with staff in obtaining taxis was extremely poor. After 45 minute delay it was discovered no one had ordered our taxi. Spa facilities were suburb & provided a great respite from traveling. Anyone staying here should be aware that late dinner reservations can make it difficult to get back to the hotel after 11:00 pm. Funicular & taxis stop running at 11:00 pm

The hotel is beautiful and peaceful, only issue is that it is on top of the mountain and you need the tram to get to town. Not much close by and Ubers are hard to come by, not a lot of options for eating around

Beautiful hotel and excellent service. Really enjoyed the pool area. Only downside is the location as there are basically no restaurants on the hill so you have to go down into town every time.

What a beautiful property in an old cloister! While not in the middle of Lyon, it was not too far to the funicular down to old Lyon.

Not much in the immediate area, have to walk down a lot of steep steps to get to the main town. Lovely lodging and beautiful setting.

This hotel was just ok. It's very difficult to get to. Views are beautiful but not worth the hike to get up there. The rooms are small even for Europe. The breakfast is not great. The coffee is horrible. Service at the restaurant is slow and the choices are limited. I would not recommend.

I loved the property overall, very historic and our room was fantastic option for our family. What I did not like was the air conditioning was not working in the main bedroom the staff knew this and we still had to ask for a fan which helped. I also did not love the service at the hotel Resturant, first we went down for dinner and were turned away as we needed advance reservations which seemed ridiculous considering there were tables available ( we sat at the bar area and watched) and when we did book it I tried to show my waitress how I wanted my steak cooked and she just said I know, I know and instead of medium rare it was brought medium well! On top of that it was overly salty ( the only meal in Lyon to not come out perfectly). Advice to the staff, listen to your clients, don’t assume.

Lieu très agréable à l’œil et décoré avec goût. Piscine et SPA également très appréciables. Le restaurant est en revanche en deçà du standing annoncé : 2h30 pour entrée/plat/dessert sans explication ni attention pour la clientèle excédée mais courtoise, plateau de 3 fromages sans présentation (à 14€ on attend un minimum d’effort) et qui ont manifestement pris un coup de chaud, plats et desserts sans éclat… on va mettre cela sur le coup d’une mauvaise soirée, cela peut arriver. Le petit déjeuner à près de 30€ avec un buffet que l’on rencontre dans les principaux hôtels 3 étoiles a également été décevant (pas de jus d’orange, boissons chaudes en libre service, pas de prestation « plus » qu’un tel tarif laisse supposer). En bref : un cadre exceptionnel qui peine à faire oublier quelques maladresses culinaires et un personnel parfois un peu trop discret. Nous reviendrons peut-être, mais sans dîner ni petit déjeuner.

Such a pretty hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Nice comfy rooms (very generous with towels - amazing) and lovely facilities. The pool and garden are beautiful and easy to relax and while away a day in. The food and drink prices are high (40 euros each for breakfast!) but we found lots of lovely places in the local neighbourhood instead (especially the Boulangerie in St Just - amazing). Highly recommended.

Je n’ai pas pris de petit déjeuner mais j’ai pris un apéritif avec un ami et dîné au restaurant le bouchon, tout était bon! Ce n’était pas la première fois dans cet hôtel et j’y retournerai sans hésiter. Je recommande
