Château De La Bûcherie

Very nice hotel in a very quiet and beautifully landscaped area. The staff is super nice, the decor makes you feel like in a castle, from the room decoration to the lobby and the yard. I did a walk around the castle and they also have a garden, growing their own food. I wish I had a breakfast or dinner in here but I was there only for a few hours of sleep. Thanks for the welcome.

Not much in terms of obtaining drinks, there’s an honesty bar, but very little choice although they don’t mind you bringing your own. The staff are very helpful and friendly, they make this place feel as lovely as it is. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Mostly continental but eggs and sausage also supplied. Plenty of fruit, delicious yoghurt and home made preserves, breads, pancakes etc. what made the visit extra special was the incredible 7 course taster menu in the restaurant. Incredible dishes served by the best young front of house team you could wish for. Very impressive and they did all they could to ensure we were happy and the service impeccable. For all the above we can’t wait to visit again one day.

Très bon séjour. Accueil et personnel très chaleureux. Très bel localisation, au calme, dans un grand parc. Hôtel très agréable et confortable. De plus, présence de 3 bornes pour véhicules électriques. Quelques petites remarques très mineures mais nécessaires: il n'y a pas d'ascenseur pour les étages (ceci étant indiqué dans le dépliant); prendre une chambre supérieure car la chambre basique est vraiment petite, avec un environnement basique, bien que confortable et bénéficiant en revanche d'une grande salle d'eau avec grande douche; en cas de pluie ou d'humidité, le chemin pour aller du parking à l'hôtel est très boueux. Un autre point est la difficulté de trouver l'entrée de l'hôtel de nuit. Le petit déjeuner est bien complet avec de bons produits dont certains sont faits ou cultivés "maison". Il faut aussi mettre à l'actif de l'hôtel, la présence d'un excellent restaurant gastronomique (Le Cambrousse) qui est remarquable par la qualité de ses plats.

It's a chateau, what's not to like? Amazing property and grounds. Well maintained, fun to explore with children.

Lack of modern facilities such as TV and kettle. Dreadful restaurant with no choice of menu and well overpriced. Self service bar ridiculous- poorly socked and no ice. Parking facilities not good and very muddy.

Prachtig in het groen gelegen kasteel, dat nog niet helemaal klaar lijkt te zijn met een grootschalige renovatie. De bedden zijn goed, maar de kamer is (nog?) tamelijk kaal - geen tv, geen koffie/thee-zet faciliteiten, weinig meubilair, geen douchegordijn in de badkamer, enz. Na 20.00 geen receptionist/personeel aanwezig; na 20.00 kan je zelf drankjes uit de bar nemen en de consupties zelf opschrijven voor betaling; er is een tv-kamer, een biljart, spelltjes en tijdschriften zijn in de lounges aanwezig; grote tuin om in te wandelen, uitstekend en uitgebreid ontbijt. Geen lift aanwezig. Gratis parkeren net buiten het terrein, langs de oprijlaan.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, der Schlossgarten war unbeschreiblich schön und idyllisch, wir hatten die ganze Anlage quasi für uns allein, einfach eine Oase des Friedens

The hotel has no lift or elevator, and we were given a room on the top floor, and we had to carry our heavy luggage up to our room 68 steps on a circular staircase 3 levels up. Our room had a sloped ceiling at one side which one had to be careful not to bump into. Although the bathroom was clean, the bathroom sink had very poor drainage, and the shower button between the overhead shower and the handheld shower did not function at all. Mattress, pillows, and bedding are nice. Buffet breakfast was good, from 7-10am...would be better if up to 10:30am because, after all, we are on holiday. Access to the property by car was through a very narrow country road where two cars can barely pass each other in both directions, which may be potentially dangerous to drive at night. The grounds of the property are bucolic and the ambiance of the lounge areas is quite cozy and rustic. Very quiet and restful. There is a fine dining restaurant at the hotel, but we were not able to dine there w/o reservation because the night we stayed, the restaurant was full, reserved by some outside group. Perhaps some consideration for its own guests to eat there would be nice. However, the hotel booked us a reservation at another restaurant in the area (about 25 minutes away by car at Gasny...a Michelin Bib Gourmand place which was only so so.). Since our stay was for one night, our primary purpose being to visit Giverny, I should give a better rating on this hotel..if only it has an elevator!

Tutto perfetto. Ho visto anche un cerbiatto nel parco. Luogo da favola, meraviglioso. Consiglio di non portare valigie voluminose per assenza di ascensore essendo una dimora storica. Noi avevamo la camera al terzo piano che dire, dormire qui un salto nel tempo, un’ esperienza gradevole nella pace più assoluta. Consiglio un giro nel loro parco meraviglioso, per la sera a disposizione un biliardo e una sala tv. Non ho potuto mangiare nel loro ristorante perché giorno di chiusura ma sono stata consigliata su locali dove mangiare a 10 minuti di macchina. Colazione eccellente. Personale gentilissimo.

Accueil chaleureux dans un environnement paisible. Il y a des petits travaux à prévoir Peinture SDB, vitres cassées, parquet….

Le château, situé dans un charmant village, au cœur d'un très beau domaine, est sublime – idéal pour découvrir le Vexin. Délicieux petit-déjeuner. Si vous en avez l'occasion, ne manquez pas de dîner au restaurant du château, Cambrousse : les plats y sont excellents et le service d'une extrême prévenance. Petit point d'amélioration : le ménage dans la chambre était lacunaire, dommage pour le niveau de prestation dont se réclame l'établissement. Une impression désagréable, en guise de conclusion : il nous a semblé que nous ne bénéficiions pas tout à fait du même accueil que d'autres visiteurs... peut-être parce que nous étions jeunes ou en tenue de randonnée à notre arrivée (ou en raison d'autres préjugés que nous préférons ne pas imaginer) ? Nous laissons au personnel, assez serviable par ailleurs, le bénéfice du doute, mais aurions apprécié que l'on nous souhaite la bienvenue à notre arrivée, que nos requêtes soient traitées sans suspicion et que l'on nous demande au moment du check-out si notre séjour s'était bien passé – comme ce fût le cas pour d'autres clients arrivés avant et après nous.

C’est un hôtel de charme qui aurait besoin d’un bon rafraîchissement. La location des vélo électrique est très cher, plus cher qu’une location de voiture!

The property was gorgeous. We had an upgraded room, spacious, very clean, very elegant, with high quality bedding and toiletries.

Avoid. This is not a hotel. It is run like a hostel. No reception or assistance 8pm-8am except in an "emergency". No kitchen to get food or tended bar. Friendly staff but they are limited in what they can do for you. In fairness, it is a very beautiful chateau with gorgeous grounds. BUT that's it. The detail is a disaster. It is clear that corners have been cut in the renovations and cheap fixtures used. It's all got an attitude of "that'll do". In some instances it’s actually dangerous. There isn’t enough space to detail all the problems we had staying here. A poorly designed bathroom, bath fitted wrong way round rendering it unusable & the absence of a shower curtain resulting in a pond all over the bathroom floor (very dangerous). Most rooms had this problem. Ongoing noisy renovation works in part of the building. Dirty, holey towels. A slim breakfast offering at €18pp, nothing cooked except eggs, no effort to cater for allergies despite advanced notice. Ants infesting the room with the presence of any food at all (I had brought my own gluten free bread) and getting into everything - even the bed! Restaurant closed Mon/Tues, no other kitchen onsite to get food outside of restaurant hours unless you pay €35pp for “plats froides” (read: ham & cheese). Self-serve bar only (no ice). Terrible wi-fi & poor general internet. Extortionate prices for extras. No air-con, exposed constantly hot & noisy pipes, pot-hole ridden drive/car park, the list goes on. Stay somewhere else.

The Chateau itself is beautiful and has very nice gardens. The problem was the lack of attention to detail. When we arrived, there was only one set of towels, our booking was for 2 people. There also wasn't any shower gel, shampoo, or conditioner in the bathroom. The hotel is very loud, you clearly hear every footstep of every guest from the room, and there was a water pipe running non-stop somewhere in the wall or ceiling of the room the entire stay. We stayed 4 nights, and when we returned to the hotel after 3 nights, there weren't any towels in the room at all. The receptionist leaves at 20:00, so there wasn't anyone to ask. We tried to call the after-hours number and it just went to voicemail, they never even mentioned that they received it the next day. Luckily, after searching the hallway, we found a linen closet and were able to find some towels. Again, beautiful property, but lack of attention to detail and service. Definitely not what you would expect for over 200 Euros/night.

Parfait ! On pause le pc, le téléphone… on sort les chaussures de marche et les jumelles ( sanglier, chevreuil, lapin, héron, ragondin, blaireau), j’ai pu voir ces animaux en une soirée depuis la terrasse et des fauteuils confortables. Le château est en parfait état et ses chambres sont dans le même style. Petit déjeuner bien garni et excellent. Je recommande cet endroit qui change des hôtels classiques.

The hotel was pretty however the shower room/toilet smelled like a sewer. It was really bad. This hotel, so called hotel, does not offer any mean to feed a guest apart from the breakfast. We arrived late and learnt that the only restaurant the property has does not reserve a table for the staying guest hence we had to drive a half an hour back and forth at late evening with a hungry 3 and 6 years old.

Séjourner dans ce château est un privilège rare ! Le domaine de 60 hectares est exceptionnellement reposant. Tout est fait pour qu'on s'y sente bien. Au détour de la balade vous découvrez les poules, les moutons, les chevaux, les oies, les ragondins... Et Scarlett bien sûr, la jolie chatte du château ! La chambre était grande et confortable avec vue sur le parc et le bal des hirondelles. Le personnel est professionnel et attentif.

What a lovely setting, about an hour outside of Paris. Although our first room had not been made up our final, changed room was large with a large bathroom and lovely views overlooking the rolling gardens and fields beyond. The room and bathroom facilities were both good; not modern but in keeping with the lovely chateau building. We ate at the onsite restaurants was excellent, especially as we don’t eat meat.

Très beau château, chambres assez grandes, parc magnifique où on peut faire de jolies balades. Cependant, Il n'y a pas de TV, pas thé ou café dans la chambre ou à l'étage. Il faut redescendre au RDC ce qui est un peu agaçant tard le soir depuis le 3e étage. Le personnel est très serviable et avenant. En bref, un très bon séjour,. nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Amazing stay at a wonderful venue. The wonderful staff made us feel like home from the moment of checking in. The castle and its surroundings are beautiful and it was a perfect start of our vaccination where we really got to slow down and just enjoy life. We travelled with our 3 year old, and he enjoyed as much as his parents, thank you to the staff who made his and our stay so special. We enjoyed the Michelin worthy restaurant all 3 nights and can’t recommend it enough. This is a place for relaxation, enjoying nature, good food and wines. Will definitely come back.

Découverte d’un lieu incroyable et charmant Un très beau château dans un parc immense et magnifique . Tout est fait pour qu’on s’y sente bien. L’accueil a été très agréable et professionnel. Séjour parfait qui permet de s’évader, de se détendre au plus près de la nature.

A wonderful stay for our family for 2 weeks in the French Countryside. Betty runs a wonderful hotel, with a fantastic staff and a spectacular restaurant! Great food in a stunning space, with so many natural ingredients grown on property or in the area. The Castle is old school, historic, rustic, but lovely. The grounds are stunning and special. Nathan was a brilliant manager and breakfast there is fabulous and a piece of artistry. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Nous avons passé un moment inoubliable au château de la Bucherie pour fêter l’anniversaire de ma compagne. Dès notre arrivée, l’accueil a été chaleureux et attentionné, agrémenté d’une présentation passionnante de l’histoire du domaine, ce qui a immédiatement plongé notre séjour dans une ambiance unique. La promenade en amoureux dans les jardins et les alentours du château a été un vrai coup de cœur : un cadre romantique et apaisant, parfait pour se ressourcer à deux. Le dîner qui a suivi était tout simplement délicieux, avec des plats raffinés et des saveurs qui ont ravi nos papilles. Le lendemain, le petit-déjeuner gourmand, copieux et varié, a été une excellente surprise pour bien commencer la journée. En résumé, une expérience parfaite, alliant charme, gastronomie et détente. Nous recommandons vivement le château de la Bucherie pour une escapade romantique ou un moment spécial à célébrer !

We had an great stay! There was an initial issue with our room, but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently and we were upgraded with no extra cost. As we stayed on a Sunday, the restaurant was closed (which we were aware of in advance), but the hotel contacted us prior to our arrival to arrange a meal for us and the children, and the food was amazing. There was lots for the children to do and see at the Chateau. The grounds and Chateau were beautiful. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Chateau and wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely recommend it to all our friends and family.

Cadre magnifique en pleine nature. L'environnement est superbe avec de belles promenades dans un parc bien entretenu. Le château conserve son authenticité avec un mobilier d'époque 19e siècle. Par contre tres excentré de la ville donc voiture indispensable.

Quiet get away just outside of Paris.

Beautiful property, away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Dated property that deserves its respect for the age of it.

The staff are very helpful and friendly, they make this place feel as lovely as it is. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Mostly continental but eggs and sausage also supplied. Plenty of fruit, delicious yoghurt and home made preserves, breads, pancakes etc. what made the visit extra special was the incredible 7 course taster menu in the restaurant. Incredible dishes served by the best young front of house team you could wish for. Very impressive and they did all they could to ensure we were happy and the service impeccable. For all the above we can’t wait to visit again one day.

Très bon séjour. Accueil et personnel très chaleureux. Très bel localisation, au calme, dans un grand parc. Hôtel très agréable et confortable. De plus, présence de 3 bornes pour véhicules électriques. Quelques petites remarques très mineures mais nécessaires: il n'y a pas d'ascenseur pour les étages (ceci étant indiqué dans le dépliant); prendre une chambre supérieure car la chambre basique est vraiment petite, avec un environnement basique, bien que confortable et bénéficiant en revanche d'une grande salle d'eau avec grande douche; en cas de pluie ou d'humidité, le chemin pour aller du parking à l'hôtel est très boueux. Un autre point est la difficulté de trouver l'entrée de l'hôtel de nuit. Le petit déjeuner est bien complet avec de bons produits dont certains sont faits ou cultivés "maison". Il faut aussi mettre à l'actif de l'hôtel, la présence d'un excellent restaurant gastronomique (Le Cambrousse) qui est remarquable par la qualité de ses plats.

It was a lovely peaceful stay, shame the restaurant wasn’t open to us as guests.

Lack of modern facilities such as TV and kettle. Dreadful restaurant with no choice of menu and well overpriced. Self service bar ridiculous- poorly socked and no ice. Parking facilities not good and very muddy.

The hotel was pretty however the shower room/toilet smelled like a sewer. It was really bad. This hotel, so called hotel, does not offer any mean to feed a guest apart from the breakfast. We arrived late and learnt that the only restaurant the property has does not reserve a table for the staying guest hence we had to drive a half an hour back and forth at late evening with a hungry 3 and 6 years old.

Lovely place, with an amazing food for diner,

The hotel has no lift or elevator, and we were given a room on the top floor, and we had to carry our heavy luggage up to our room 68 steps on a circular staircase 3 levels up. Our room had a sloped ceiling at one side which one had to be careful not to bump into. Although the bathroom was clean, the bathroom sink had very poor drainage, and the shower button between the overhead shower and the handheld shower did not function at all. Mattress, pillows, and bedding are nice. Buffet breakfast was good, from 7-10am...would be better if up to 10:30am because, after all, we are on holiday. Access to the property by car was through a very narrow country road where two cars can barely pass each other in both directions, which may be potentially dangerous to drive at night. The grounds of the property are bucolic and the ambiance of the lounge areas is quite cozy and rustic. Very quiet and restful. There is a fine dining restaurant at the hotel, but we were not able to dine there w/o reservation because the night we stayed, the restaurant was full, reserved by some outside group. Perhaps some consideration for its own guests to eat there would be nice. However, the hotel booked us a reservation at another restaurant in the area (about 25 minutes away by car at Gasny...a Michelin Bib Gourmand place which was only so so.). Since our stay was for one night, our primary purpose being to visit Giverny, I should give a better rating on this hotel..if only it has an elevator!

Lovely place, setting was beautiful and food delicious
