Great location if you were visiting Mount Rainier National Park and surrounding area. My room was spacious, clean, quiet with comfortable bed, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Wifi is free but speed in my room was less than 5 mbs. Parking ample and free. I would have given this hotel higher rating was it not for the complete absence of room service.

Comfortable and clean, the lodge had a nice lobby and coffee/tea. Air conditioning was good, but the unit made an annoying whistling sound. No breakfast or pool, which would have made the room worth the price charged. Still, it was a good home base for our Rainier adventures, and we got a room at less than a week before our trip. No AAA discount because we booked through a third party.

Great location for Mount Rainier NP. Local shop nearby but not much else. Rooms were really good, big and clean, and the air conditioning was good. Only had 1 dryer and 2 washing machines which was not enough for such a big property. The laundry room could have done with a bit of a clean.

Great location to MRNP whether you were going to Sunrise or Paradise area. Loved the evening elk and babies. So glad to have laundry available. Restaurants were all walkable. We did miss the complimentary breakfast that was advertised when we booked with Expedia. There was no breakfast.

Well the lodge is out the country side in packwood. Beds are okay, room was dusty,open the curtains dust particles flying everywhere, my allergies started. I expect something a bit better.

The cleanliness needs to be improved as there was lot of dust inside the room on the furniture. We saw cobwebs inside the room. The air conditioning was making lot of noise while it was running which bothered our sleep so that needs to be fixed too. Rest all was good.

Watching the herd of elk out our back window was a treat. The property is quiet and spacious. The outside of the building could have used a power wash but everything inside was clean and appealing with rustic cabin style decor. I would stay again. Be aware that breakfast choices in town are limited so breakfast would have been a nice extra.

Office staff very rude and unwelcoming. Room was ok, floors dusty and dirty, bathroom mirror dirty and soap dish had chunks of something in it. Bed was comfortable, TV did not work. A bit disappointing, we have stayed here a few times and never experienced rude staff or unclean rooms, not sure what the problem is. We will stay somewhere else next time.

There was hair found on the bed sheet. We told the receptionist. The receptionist grabbed a clean set from the laundry room. We took it to the room and changed the bedding. There was no other concerns other than that

Everything was great except for the dining options. It was a small town with few places to eat. Also the TV reception was awful. We couldn’t watch anything without constant interruptions or complete loss of service.

It was a little older. Needs some minor touch ups. Air conditioner was way too loud. Difficult to sleep when it was running and had to have it running as it was too warm without it.

The walls are thin! We had a neighbor who kept the television on all night. Great place for our dog—big field surrounds the hotel. Also saw a herd of moose grazing in the morning. Good proximity to Mt. Rainier park.

I had a horrible experience at check-in. The girl who checked us in was extremely unwelcoming and rude. She seemed annoyed that we were there to check in as soon as we walked in. She very politely demanded my ID and credit card. She was nasty and clearly had an attitude and rolled her eyes at me very obviously when I asked her which way to my room. This was the girl working on the evening of August 1.

Good location to access Mt. Rainer. Room was clean, food and services nearby. Loved the wildlife roaming the grounds. Fat guy running the lobby was rude and unaccommodating. He ought to be fired.

The front desk staff were a bit rude throughout our stay. From the moment we checked in, the experience felt unwelcoming. When we first received our room keys, I was putting my credit card away and the receptionist immediately called out “next” without even a simple “thank you” or “welcome.” During our stay, each time I went to the lobby, the interactions felt awkward and uncomfortable. For example, when our room keys stopped working and I asked for assistance, the receptionist seemed surprised—as if it was unusual—and instead of handling it calmly, she began ranting. It made the situation unnecessarily unpleasant. Overall, the front desk team could definitely improve on basic hospitality, courtesy, and professionalism.

Slow internet. Gentleman at front desk was short with answers. Location was not full the night before ( off season between summer and ski) but would not allow us to check in a little early. Wanted to get a hike in yet that afternoon but had food in car. Ended up going to a brewery.

We rented several rooms on 3 different dates this summer. All three times we had issues. The office is Very disorganized! Even double charging for one of the rooms. I would look for other options first.

We had a great stay at Cowlitz River Lodge during our short time in Packwood! Very clean and convenient, as you could just walk right to everything in Packwood (it's a super small town!). Parking right in front of our door, and a laundry on-site helped out as well. The lobby was very cool, and our kids actually hung out there most of the evening after we arrived! If we're ever back in Packwood, this is certainly where we would stay!

This place was overall very good. The fact that there breakfast was no longer served was disappointing. It was nice they had popcorn for guests. I rang the bell to get change for laundry and nobody came and we found a plate in our microwave from the previous guests with a partial corn dog and BBQ sauce. We enjoyed conversations with other guests and the facilities provided. I would recommend this place to others.

Coffee in lobby was run out at 830 am with no plans on making more. No breakfast provided. No elevators for handicapped hubby so she put us in a pet room on bottom floor and charged an additional 35.00, even though we didn't have a pet. Front door was dented and scratched, making us wonder if people break in often. On the bright side, bed was comfortable and room clean. We're not that picky but this was an ok hotel with no views and pictures on website make it look so much better than it really is.

They no longer have breakfast so they should not charge so much. Another $30 a day for breakfast in town and it takes more time out of your day. The river is not a walk away, you will need to drive. The TV would not work and the man at the desk was very irritated that he had to come assist. He had to unplug every and then plug it back.

Very comfortable rooms with easy access to Mt. Rainier. In the morning we drank our coffee while watching elk in the front grass of the hotel. Great pillows, comfortable bed. No breakfast is offered, there is morning coffee with coffee mate but no actual cream.
