We had a studio unit which had everything we needed. Very comfortable and clean. Each unit is allocated one car park. Only downside was the car parks right outside the units are unallocated. Unfortunately, another car was parked in the park right outside our unit. Not ideal when you’re lugging heavy suitcases and want easy access to your car. Other than that, we couldn’t fault our stay at Athena.

This property was almost clean with good walkability to shopping centers and the hospital. Restaurant and bar were closed when we were there and there was no hint of a breakfast offer. We booked a studio apartment and while well-appointed it was a very small area. The entrance in and out of the Motel are off a very busy highway, and difficult to navigate. Pool area and sauna were very clean, and traffic noise was minimal. There was a tap going on and off all night which rattled through the apartment and was very disturbing.

Find me something in this price range that is walkable to the city centre (we did) - will be back. Could work on the water pressure.

Upon arrival we were told that we had a designated parking space outside our room but as soon as we moved our car somebody else had parked there and there was nowhere else for our car so we had to leave it in an area that was not a parking space. My partner rang the number on the reception door but the person he spoke to didn’t care or have any alternative suggestions. The bedroom had a lot of dust on the bedside table, lamp etc. The bathroom needs a good scrub especially in the shower the grout is pretty dirty.

A great place to stay, I will definitely stay again, disappointed that the pool was not heated which was one of the reasons we picked this Motel. Also the recreation room with darts and billiards was locked and no one was allowed in. Other than that it’s a really good Motel. Lastly ( not your fault) the tree on the verge totally blocks any view of approaching cars on a very busy road, council have a duty of care and need to remove it before someone is killed.

A big reason I chose the Athena was because of the gym, pool table and restaurant - so once we arrived with 15yr old son we didn’t have to leave. Only to find out that pool table cant be accessed on Friday afternoon or evening and restaurant isn’t open Friday night and U18s cant use gym even if supervised. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.

Booked a family 2 bedroom apartment at Athena Motel Apartments with a photo of a spa bath, with no shower photo. On arrival there was no spa bath and Athena and Hotels.com wouldn’t refund despite the misleading family room photo. The amenities listing is deceptive. No cd player, no oven suitable for baking a lasagna in an alfoil pan, and no spa bath that was in the room-specific photos with no mention on Hotels.com listing that it was only available on request. Terrible management and policies, refusing to refund despite their misleading advertising. With the restaurant being closed on the weekend it was unclear where or how to access the games-arcade room so we couldn’t use it during our rainy weekend stay. Dismal wifi speeds 10mbps download and upload. Hot water ran out half way through my husband’s shower. Mascara stains on pillow case when I don’t wear mascara and our fitted sheet had a hole in it. Also found a cockroach in kitchen. Dirty grout in shower. The dishwasher powder holder was broken too and wouldn’t stay closed after adding powder. The bottom of the door on the microwave was loosely hanging off, does not seem safe as it probably isn’t sealing the radiation in anymore. Never staying here again, would leave 0-star review if I could. Stay here only if you want a frustrating experience.

Human hairs in the bathroom and bed was very off-putting. Room we booked advertised a queen bed, but the room issued only had a double bed. Had to call the police around midnight of our first night due to a violent argument breaking out between other guests which took place in the motel’s central car park immediately outside our room. Sounds of smashing glass, threats of violence, screaming and obscenities. Police arrived and did a good job settling things down.

Lovely clean modern rooms. Staff were very friendly. The only thing we didn’t like was no air con in the bedroom. The lounge area has one, but none in the bedroom, only a ceiling fan. We stayed mid April, so the weather was starting to cool down, but I don’t know if I would like to stay in the middle of Queensland summer. We stayed in 1 bedroom appartment

Parking is always an issue in this motel Also minor issue the toilet seat bracket missing do ceramic streaks were present Hot water was not hot enough sad maybe because it was a disabled room Furthermore the air con unit was loud and not efficient in doing its job .... Better than Ruthven motel where air con. Inverter does not work and it was 3 degrees over night and toilet light did not even work in the executive suite. Potters have the best facilities in my opinion except a child minding centre neighbour disrupts my sleep

I was having an infusion at hospital delighted to ind I could walk through a gate on property straight into grounds of Toowoomba Base. They extended my stay for a couple of hours so I could leave my car at motel and come back through gate. Fantastic service couldn’t fault them.

This was our third stay and we were very disappointed. Housekeeping is letting them down. Our bottom sheet was put on sideways so that our legs and feet would have been in the mattress protector. We remade the bed. I also sent a email the next day expressing my disappointment, and did not receive a response. That was a week and a half ago.

Staying at Athena motel was good value for money for our last minute trip. It was clean and comfortable. There were a couple of things like a softer mattress that my husband didn’t like and the cigarette smoke easily passed from the front of our neighbours room into ours. The checkin although friendly, left me feeling a little awkward as no one was available to help me with several luggage despite travelling alone with children. Overall a good experience and would consider this again as it was good value for money.

We had attended a funeral, then stayed to.catch up with family. We nedded a meal, but arrived back at the Apartments at 7.55pm. When we asked if we were too late for dinner, the sraff said no, just take a seat and order. Staff were lovely and friendly, and chef cooked very yummy meals! Sorry for the late review, but our stay was very comfortable and we were welcomed be friendly staff! Thank you to all.

This property is well taken care of and the comfort of guests is obviously important. We had a kitchen and everything you need for basic cooking was supplied. It was great. We struggled with the bright lights at night from the car park. The property was easy to find and parking was fine too even though we had a large Ute. The bed and pillows were comfy and warm. Great place to stay. The room was a good size and had everything needed for a weekend away. We chose Athena Motel due to its close proximity to the hospital. Was pleased to discover there was a gate at the back of the property that led straight into the hospital grounds. Meant we didn’t need to drive to or park at the hospital. Will definitely be back.
