Great hotel. Just a short drive from every shopping or dining option you would need. Easy to park and get in and out of. I was a little surprised the clerk was wearing a plain tshirt with a logo; not a hotel brand logo, but a decal. Thought it was sloppy on her part and wondered why a supervisor would not have told her it was a bit too casual? But that's just me.

The hotel is under renovation, however the elevator stank of mold. The room was hot upon checking in. The ac would shut off without maintaining a 70 degree temperature. The bathroom door could only be shut by slamming against it then you had to try to struggle to open it. The continental breakfast had no coffee because the maker was broke. For what was supposed to be a better hotel I was very disappointed. The only positive was the bed was comfortable.

Property is in middle of remodeling. Elevator was dirty and had pads on walls and duct tape on carpet. Our bathroom door would not close as the threshold was too thick and the door could not close. The fitness center was closed for the remodel. If we had know, we’d have stayed elsewhere.

Property is nice and quiet. The area is ok and lots of food choices within a mile from hotel. The only thing is workers staying at hotel were partying in parking lot and then brought their gathering into the common area downstairs. My young children felt a little uneasy. Other than that staff is great and room (quiet) was nice.

I was expecting more from a Marriott property. Waited ten minutes at the front desk before an employee appeared. She was lovely once she acknowledged me and another guest waiting. The furnishings in the room are dusty, and the bathroom needs repairs. Tub faucet moves when you turn on the shower, wallpaper is falling down and shampoo and body wash dispensers are empty. Mattress is not in an enclosed cover. No lining for the ice bucket. Inside of lampshades are stained with what looks like blood. Electric plug in base on lamp does not work. If I was here for longer than one night, I would ask to move rooms. Will not book here but stay at the Holiday Inn in Douglas instead.

The best handicap/roll-in bathroom that I have been in in a hotel. The shower was great. I use an electric wheel chair and I couldn’t get me chair near an electric outlet to recharge it. Thankfully I am mobile enough to get around the room without it.

Had to go to Douglas, Georgia for a funeral and was told to get a room at the Fairfield and it did not disappoint! Friendly service, clean room, bed was extremely comfortable and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious! We will already stay at this hotel when we go to Douglas!

We got to our hotel and was told that our reservation had been cancelled by Expedia and they had booked us into another local hotel. The hotel gave us the phone number for Expedia. They had no clue what happened and had no other hotels available except a very unsavory hotel. We were able to find one in the next closest town. Very inconvenient for what we were doing.

Alana, the receptionist, needs training. She did not locate the paid reservation when given the confirmation number which caused a series of issues. The issues included my guest speaker having to wait and not get needed rest, guest paid again for a room that was already paid by me, my pastor had to come to the hotel to pay, and I had to stop working to travel to the hotel to resolve the issue. This all could have been avoided. She also seemed very confused in how to receive reservations made with 3rd party to the point of having to call the manager.

Unfortunately, the lock to our room door was broken, which made it difficult opening and closing the door. At one point after closing the door and leaving for over 3 hours we came back to find our room door opened ( nothing was missing), no usb ports which you will typically find in most newer hotels, fridge had leftover food inside “pickles”, and stained sheets on one of the beds. We over heard a conversation about another visitor in another room finding bedbugs in which they had bite marks up and down their arms. They only addressed it by moving that customer to another room and crediting the stay. Hopefully they will treat the room and not book any other guest in that room YIKES!! Staff were friendly, amenities were okay and grab and go breakfast was mediocre at best. Not the nicest hotel we’ve stayed but by far not the worst. If you need a reasonable, and convenient 1-2 night stay with a on the go breakfast this is your SPOT! Just make sure to check for those blood sucking night critters!

There were only 2 lights in the room with bulbs in them. The plug by the bed for the phone didn’t work and the Tv would not come on. I did tell the front desk and she was nice and said she would let their maintenance man know. It was clean and then breakfast was tasty.
