Stayed 3 nights

It was off the main road so we didn’t have to listen to all the beeping of the passing traffic. The road up the hill to the property cannot be traversed by cars, so if you have actual suitcases, the friendly staff may be able to help. There are some protective dogs on this hillside driveway that scared my son, so it was a good dog whisperer lesson I got to give him (no eye contact and talk in a very mild tone telling what good boys and girls the doggos are then just keep walking). Our 3 night stay were divided into 2 rooms, the first room had a tricky door then a faulty AC. The friendly front desk lady helped us move our things. Walking distance to restaurants, massages, grocery and about a 12 min walk to night market. Overall a good visit! (And because of the dogs, my preteen boy held my hand. I never get those anymore!) Oh, also booked a lovely tour with John’s Tours from their front desk. Pick up from hotel & return!

Stayed 2 nights

Swimming pool dirty. Bathroom open - large spider chased my wife and kids. Linen not fresh. We mover after one night even though we had paid for two nights.

In short, my stay at the Miana Resort was a complete disaster. The resort was advertised as '3-stars', but on arrival, I was greeted with sick dogs in the driveway, rubbish in the garden, and a tired, old-looking resort. I'm not even sure this place deserves 1-star. The room itself was grotty. The air conditioner barely worked and only acted as a sad, pathetic fan leaving the room humid and uncomfortable. The bed sheets were torn, the bathroom window was covered in face prints, there were cigarette butts, rubbish and broken tiles in the shower, and the drinking glasses were dirty and covered in toothpaste. And to top it all off, there were faeces on the toilet seat that the staff didn't properly clean. Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the manager, little was done to address them, except 'allowing' us to cancel our booking and leave without a refund. The manager was unwilling to speak to us directly, instead communicating via a junior staff member on the phone from a nearby room on-site. In the end, we moved to a 2-star resort in a different area that was incredibly clean, beautifully landscaped, and had beach access that did not need us to sneak through another resort (yes, this is the advice you receive at Miana). It was a breath of fresh air after my experience at the Miana 'Resort'. If you're looking for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation in Phu Quoc, I suggest looking elsewhere.
